I'm an American living in Japan. I'm supposed to file taxes even though I don't need to pay anything, but didn't. Just to say fuck the system.

What does filing taxes mean for you?
If the IRS isn't demanding money from you then what exactly are they demanding? Or are they not demanding anything from you, but you think they are for some reason?

Americans technically need to pay taxes if we live abroad, but only if we make over some big amount that no stinky ALT would ever make. So we basically just send in a form that says, "I'm not rich so don't take my money."

I think it's fucking retarded how the tax system is being used to keep people playing the American game (a no-win game that can only be beat by leaving it and becoming an emigrant) so I'm just not filing any taxes at all as a way of practicing civil disobedience.

Americans have to report all income regardless of where they live. Basically taxes, treason, and age of consent Laws are still binding for Americans outside the US. He has to report income, but iall income tax goes to Japan unless he makes 70k usd or more
