Can any dentistfags on here tell me what I should expect if I haven't gone to the dentist in 10 years? The inside of my bottom teeth basically all look like this, maybe even darker. Will I have to get all my teeth taken out and replaced with implants or are they salvageable? The more years that go by they, the less I even want to go to a dentist because I dread the bad news I'm going to get.

It's nothing, they will scrub them clean and send you on your way.

Just brush your teeth every day for like a week before the appointment and take a multivitamin. If anyone says anything blame it on your previous dentist. Do not under any circumstances admit to not flossing, they can't prove shit and they will only use it against you.
>>
Also remember, no matter what they recommend or scaremonger, you have absolutely no obligation to go along with anything. You're a paying customer and they're trying to sell you treatments. If you don't want have any teeth extracted until they hurt so bad you'll beg them to have your teeth extracted, that's your free choice and no one can stop you from walking out of that office with all your teeth.

But seriously, I know exactly what they're describing and they're going to polish the brown off your teeth and wag their finger about how you didn't get this done every year and that will be it.

No one's going to sue you for not flossing.

I know some people who never floss and it blows my mind
like what the actual fuck are you doing

I havent been to a dentist since covid and im kind of in the same boat, whats really sad i used to be super meticulous about my dental hygiene until mental illness reared its ugly head

if its any consolation i dont consume much sugar, so its probably not as bad as it could be. but still, i only brush my teeth sporadically and haven’t flossed in ages

>if I haven't gone to the dentist in 10 years?

never tell the dentist that. its like a card de blanco for them.

say you bought cheap chinese coffee and you
want have your teeth cleand.
>>
dentists are not a fucking judge looking to fine you
If all you want is a cleaning then go get a cleaning

But if you don't trust dentists then why bother doing that? Just get teeth yanked when they hurt
>>
also start brushing the inside and not only the outside
>>

Make sure to delete all your social media accounts, if you have any, in case the dentist tries to look you up. Or use a fake name. Better do both just to be safe.

What the fuck do you mean "start brushing the inside"? Are there people who only brush the outside of their teeth?

how do you think you get OP's pic?

Looks like receding gumline caused by bone destruction due to inflammation from all that calculus and plaque. Hope you still have enough bone for the PDLs attaching tooth to bone.
Once there's not enough then the tooth get wiggly and the dentist gets to financially rape you. But if you have enough bone then the hygienist will just blast it off with an ultrasonic or attempt to scrape with a curette.

I had my tooth extracted recently!
I live in complete paranoia about blowing it and getting a dry socket!

Some people just develop plaque and tartar so fast you can't keep up. I had a patient who needed SRP so we spread it out over a few weeks. Areas that I already cleaned would develop hard tartar again just a week after I cleaned them.

You’ll be in for a rough cleaning, your gums are probably overly sensitive and will bleed a lot. But here’s the thing, it only gets worse the longer you put it off, any news you’re scared of hearing is about something that’s already there and won’t improve by virtue of not knowing it, it’s the difference of poetentially getting a filling and having to have the whole fucking tooth pulled.

>>16956805
Do you really think the dentist won’t know you’re full of shit the moment they actually look at your teeth? They know the difference between someone who flosses and someone who doesn’t by virtue of looking at it every fucking day, just tell them the fucking truth they don’t actually care, you’re just patient number 6 of the day to them

he also doesn't know how bad the caries is until xrays. maybe a fill, maybe a crown, maybe hopeless.
10 years is a long long time.

Go for it. The hygiene procedure is actually not that expensive. I am actually in a similar boat and I am going for the cleaning on the 20th.
I also have a fucking OSTEOMA which is like a benign bone tumor and they will have to literally cut it off with power tools! It's above my front teeth and it's visible so I am super hyped about getting rid of it.
>>
>>16957413
I went the same time without seeing a dentist, teeth looked the same on the outside, and I didn't have a single cavity. Get this fixed as soon as possible, that stuff is literally alive and breeding on your teeth and in your gums.

Brush/floss once a day sometimes twice if I have somewhere to go.

They'll do a root planing, which is an ultrasonic scaler they use to blast all the calculus off the teeth.

>hasn't drank water in 10 years
Poor dental health. Discolored teeth may be a sign of infection needing extraction and root canal.
>>
>>16956775
Ensure you are sufficient in vitamins D3 and K2. Minerals boron (borax conspiracy) and magnesium. Use chlorine dioxide to mouth wash. Dont brush too hard because that damages the protective layer on your teeth. Look into no-brush. Rinse with xylitol.

When I went into dentistry I honestly cared about patients and wanted the best for them.
But after meeting so many pseudo-sci types who refuse to accept my advice, I just don't care anymore.
Go to the dentist. Tell him all about the snake oil cures you've learned on the internet and how his 8 years of education and 4 years of training mean nothing.
Then prepare to pay the bill because dental insurance never covers full procedures. Tired of you people.

From my own experiences, tea without milk will quickly discolour your teeth.

This. I got an anal rupture from using a too big dildo, but I convinced my doctor it was from taking a big shit. That retard will never know.

Based, fuck doctors. Fuck dentists too.

I haven't gone to the dentist in 30 years. I don't brush. I don't floss. I drink distilled water without fluoride. I have never had a cavity or a dental problem of any kind.

The first step to a healthy mouth is not letting some asshole drill holes in your teeth and fill them with lead and mercury.

Tooth health is almost entirely genetic.

insane thread

Some of us don't have dogshit genes and our teeth are tightly packed so no food ever gets between

Dentists are going to look for gum health and take xrays to look for demineralization and possible cavities. After this, they will probably do a deep clean, which gets all the hard crap off your teeth and out from under your gums. This can be kinda uncomfortable, and you might need to get it repeated a couple times, but it goes by quick.

Since you didn't mention any tooth pain or sensitivity, you will probably be fine on the tooth decay front. Going now is probably the best time to go, since they may be able to fix any demineralization with simple fluoride treatments and prescription toothpaste. You might need to get a filling at worst. You'd know if you were gonna get a tooth pulled because you'd be in a lot of pain right now.

Stains are usually cosmetic, but your dentist can help you fix them if you want.
