>female liches
Not possible. Becoming a lich requires being a Wizard, which in turn requires high intelligence. Therefore, as they aren't smart enough to be wizards, femnoids can't become liches. QED.
>>
>>97893936
It just sounds like you are not smart enough to be a lich, retard.

I like em. It's fun to have standard "hot" evil chick who is then revealed to be horribly hideous.
The most memorable time I used a female lich was when one disintegrated the parties horny bard.
>>
>>97893874
Women are only useful if they preserve their beauty, so female liches are only meaningful if they represent the vanity of undeath, of keeping themselves alive and beautiful at the cost of others.
Which as a theme is better for vampires, but liches can do it too if you design them right.
>>
>>97893936

It's amazing how you ALWAYS bite every single woman-related bait posted on the board.
>>
>>97893936
>Becoming a lich requires being a Wizard,
Wrong. Any 11th level humanoid caster with create wondrous item can become a lich. Cleric liches and sorcerer liches are perfectly valid, albeit, they are simply not as "desirable" because liches often become liches so as to have an eternity of study, and sorcerers do not need to study. Clerics prefer becoming mummies to pledge themselves to their dark god, and sorcerers prefer becoming vampires because of their powerful charisma-based abilities, but there is no actual limiting factors.

>>97893874
No such thing. Women don’t understand lichdom. It’s like asking them to understand “male oriented movies”. They cannot do it. They’d turn human souls into powder and apply it to their faces to keep their skin from rotting to the bone. Totally missing the point of lichdom. So silly.
>>
>>97894746
>They’d turn human souls into powder and apply it to their faces to keep their skin from rotting to the bone.
Thanks, stealing that.
>>
>>97894746
Kek. I can see female liches being the vain counterpart to male liches who lack basic hygiene skills.

“In my demonstration ritual I will show you how to better preserve your skin as an undead spellcaster using the flayed skin of children-“

“Nobody fucking cares, you disgusting whore!” (his rotting jaw falls off after saying this)

A female lich implies female wizards. That is physically impossible. Would you trust a woman’s math? Absolutely ridiculous assumption.
>>

>>97894778

The Female Lich would probably immediately start working on becoming a Demi-Lich. Not because they went insane and want to maximize their spell-shitting potential, but because they hate their rotting, high-maintenance bodies and gladly would replace them with some spectral projection from a crystalized soul.

Did anyone else get this nagging suspicion while playing ER that Miyazaki’s obsession with moons and femininity was a bit *too* obnoxious? He’s basically rubbing it in the player’s face that the moon > stars, similar to the erdtree displacing the sun. The entire game is about women emasculating and displacing men. In the dlc the insane npc (who is obsessed with becoming a woman) claiming that the moon “ain’t all that” is a weak piece of shit and his spell costs a lot less than the moon.

>staring at the moon takes up more brain power than looking into deep ass space
>conjuring two miniature moons takes up significantly more intelligence than conjuring a miniature universe
Bravo Miyazaki-san. I bet NASA is so proud.

It's just (you). Can you go with your whining to /v/ or its off-shoots instead on adding another spam to /tg/?
>>
>>97895208
Nah. It’s not just him. The entire setting is feminine. You’d have to be blind not to see this. The female enemies are even stronger than the male enemies. The big was golden tree quite literally took up the sun’s position (sunflowers face the Erdtree not the sun). Only a woman or a feminine being can become a god.

Also, Miyazaki originally wanted females to be better sorcerers than males in the first Dark Souls (originally men would only have access to a limited number of spells while women got full access to them), too. But he scrapped it. It was partially carried over in Dark Souls 3, where only women can unlock certain forms of magic.

>>

>>
>>97895127
Yes but those settings are retarded. Most magical traditions in the real world were primarily male. Everything from Egyptian Hierophants to Persian Magi to Greco-Roman Alchemists.
Sorry buddy, men are just both stronger AND smarter than women.
>>

Your retarded and nogames post disproves that. You may not know this but stuff that don't allow women in tend to not have many women in it.
>>
>>97895369
Ignore him. He’s a troll trying to start another sex war. The game’s top wizards are shown IN game, and they’re both male, not female. They’re literal Buddhas in fact. But, for whatever reason, the majority of the player base assumes a much younger woman (who was dumb enough to get seduced by her opposing country, I might add) is somehow their superior (I don’t know why people use her spell as evidence for this), when they most likely left the academy of their own volition, since they can barely be described as human by the time of the game (the entire point of them and their lesser crystallian kin is that they are so enlightened they’re basically just vibing in meditative silence).
>Egypt
Retarded wiccans with an interest in the ancient world will claim Isis was the god of magic when it was actually (her dad in some accounts) Thoth, who was also the god of the moon (b-but I thought muh moon was feminine??), as well as the stars, and later the sun when hermeticism came into the picture and he transcended his own pantheon.

Oooor that they're dead rocks after their brains caught cosmic cancer.
>>
>>97895497
Debatable. The “faint cogitation” refers to them being enigmatic and indiscernible, or slow in thought, not brain dead. They don’t respond much, if at all. Lusat might be hiding from the stars the way Onze is, but Azur appears to be doing just fine out in the open, and is levitating in meditation the same way the zen crystallians are.

>>97893874
No real issue with the concept, I imagine they'd be much less common though since of the various "higher undead" you see in fantasy, the Lich definitely appeals to a very male autist type of power fantasy, in which appearance and earthly desires are entirely irrelevant and their totally massive brains make them unkillable, eternal, and powerful.
>>
>>97895634
>appearance
Wouldn't that be a non-issue for any caster worth anything? You can just appear however you want. That's a big point about casters in the witcher.
>>
>>97895661
Witcher comes from the point of view of an old jaded slavic man, most fantasy doesn't explicitly assert that women are all vain lying whores.
>>
>>97895661
We're not talking about the Witcher, though. Do they even have Liches? I'm assuming a D&D/PF type deal if we're talking Lich (generic), since that's really what popularized them. Liches are pretty well defined as appearing outwardly undead, they can't pass for human like a vampire can.

As for "you can just appear however you want", you could always cast some sort of illusion spell but it's just that, an illusion. You're really either rotting away, or a straight up skeleton in most depictions. How easy or hard having an effective disguise as a Lich is depends on the mechanics of the system. And again, a magic illusion would be just that, an illusion. You know you're still a rotting corpse, and your magic just projects disguise.

The archetypal Lich is the sperg's power fantasy of being able to NEET it up for 1000 years and transcend mortal desires like having friends or falling in love. I'm absolutely sure there are some women that'd be into that, but fewer of them than men.

Well no shit. That's the FANTASY. I'd love to see a world where all women aren't vain, lying, whores. That would be a wonderful place. Hence, fantasy.

Of course, since all women ARE vain, lying, whores, we know that any setting in which they are not such is clearly an unrealistic setting, and that hurts immersion.

Liches are inherently male coded. There's nothing inherently stopping a girl from turning into a lich, but being a lich is something I can only picture a man even wanting to pursue.
Plus, liches are usually da big bad, and, let's be honest, male villains are more intimidating.

>>
>>97893936
That's a retarded take. Women may be less intelligent than men in general, but liches are already outliers. Even though 90+% of Liches should reasonably be male, for both reasons of intelligence and psychology, there should be a (albeit largely insignificant) minority of female liches, too.

No, it's men. There are more smart women than smart men, but the smartest tend to be men. At least, as far as the severely biased historical evidence shows.

Correct. The bell curves of gender intelligence place most women in the average range, there are more dumb men than dumb women. But there are also more smart men that smart women. The former makes women feel superior, the latter makes them angry.

I divide my undeads in two categories, those feeding on lifeforce and having to deal with mortals, and those who don't. The later include liches, and are effectively genderless. No hormones, no working genitalia, no need to pretend. The psychological association with a gender also disappears.

This is doubly so with liches, who can inhabit the bones of somewho who wasn't their species, let alone gender.

Lol. You DO know that there’s an entire god-damned race made entirely out of glintstone in the game, right? Not sure where the idea that glintstone isn’t capable of moving or animating itself came from, when it quite literally grows like a plant, and spells behave a lot like lifeforms. The ‘wisdom of stone’ was the study of the residual life/vitality within glintstone, but was also the study of how residual life/vitality could manifest itself as advanced inorganic cogitation, which is seen in the inorganic crystalians and the primeval sorcerers. It’s pure intellect, or logic, without any frivolous thought involved. The “faint cogitation” refers to them being largely unresponsive or just frustratingly enigmatic in their ways.

Not sure why you guys can’t parse lore. The concept artwork of the two primeval sorcerers also has them standing upright. Certainly not stuck in position.

This is where fantasy begins to smoothly transition into sci-fi. Liches are a transhuman allegory / parable. The main problem with them is that they still carry the defeatist pessimism of ancient mythology which was originally designed to soothe existential angst about the fact of mortality. Now that medicine is advancing so rapidly, we need a more optimistic myth about striving for immortality.
Liches are so 20th century.
Infomorphs are new now.
And in fantasy terms, that's a ghost of some kind.
