Delta green looks more polished and professional, like it's a serious product. But honestly I like the look of Conspiracy X a lot more.

While it looks like it was made in a garage with amateur art and photoshop, the style is much more acid schizo underground.

Is Conspiracy X like the X-Files but you're the bad-guy government agents? My friend bought a bunch of these books but we never played it.

Never looked at DG, the way people talk here it sounds like a more mechanically functional game. I've played three campaigns of CX back in the day. The setting isn't bad but I found it mechanically lacking. The character classes were limited in scope and a bit railroady. I did find the CX psychic power mechanic interesting.

It was riding the X file train. The PCs are part of the good guy government conspiracy fighting the bad guy government conspiracy and /x/ stuff. The good guys work in secret because if the truth was known broadly society would collapse as no one would know who to trust. The men in black are the bad conspiracy that sold out humanity for advanced tech and power. Other x stuff is just a general danger that needs delt with.

Just to talk about psychic power mechanic. The GM has a set of Rhine cards. When you use a psychic power the GM shuffles the cards and draws a determined amount. The amount is your base power +/- any modifiers. You then try to guess one of the cards in the GMs hand. If right it goes off if wrong it fails. I just found it to be a fun angle. No cards is auto fail and all five is auto success.

Delta Green is not X-Files. Delta Green is Horrible Job Simulator, the game. It's about how having to investigate the mythos will ruin your life. It's a pretty specific thing. Conspiracy X seems like its much pulpier.

I might have been looking up the wrong game then. I played a modern d20 game in the 2000s where we were operators / swat type classes in a conspiracy setting.

Is that twilight 2000 or something else?
