Carterbricks posted this year’s April Fools’ Day leaks. Most of them are fake, BUT like in previous years, MANY are real. Notable leaks:

> Lego got the Halo license starting in 2027
> A brand-new Pokémon Gen 10 set is coming in November
> A Dune Shai-Hulud with Paul riding it diorama is coming this fall
> A Legend of Zelda sword display set with a BOTW Link minifig is coming
> Speed Champions Incredibles car
> Icons Avatar: The Last Airbender Appa set with minifigs
> Bionicle buildable figure of Mata Nui coming in Icons (probably fake)
> Punisher won’t be in Brand New Day sets
> Sandy will be in the SpongeBob Conch Street set
> Fortnite CMF January 2027 (we had some Epic Games leaks indicating this last December)
> Woody and Buzz buildable figures like that Iron Man one
> Godzilla is this year’s Black Friday set; it’s a combination of previous versions
> Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter sets in the works for the Editions theme
> No more LOTR sets under Icons because of the Minas Tirith leak, because the Tolkien estate was angry (100% fake, but worth mentioning because it made me laugh)
> Marvel Baxter Building modular set coming this fall (could be true, 50/50)
> Doomsday sets will feature a Sentinel battle scene
> Poké Ball set can open up to reveal Professor Oak’s lab; figs included are Oak, Ash, Red, Blue, and Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle as molded Pokémon (these molds will be reused in 2027 sets) – probably 100% real

I guess 96% of these are real. There were a few that seemed 100% fake, and I didn’t think they were worth mentioning. You can find it on carter_bricks04 on Instagram.

I would love this but 200% fake.
>>
>>11749217
If it’s real it’s going to be a buildable 450 dollar halo ring made from 1x1s with a 300 piece black base.

Apparently 2 things on each slide are real and 2 are fake.
>>
>>11749222
I pray Halo is real but its a 100% gonna be Icons sets or its own theme but only in 18+ range. This would make it the first time we get a full 18+ theme thats not part of Icons.

If Halo was the real leak (and it’s not), how would you want Lego to handle the size difference of Master Chief and Marines?
>avatar/Toy Story long legs and long arms
OR
>everyone is just the same size
>>
>>11749224
Gonna post the rest, so probably 2 are real and 2 are fake on each slide, you decide. But all leakers said 100% some of them are 100% real, they did it in the past too.
>>
>>11749231

>>11749230
Why can't Halo br real? Mega Construx still made Pokemon sets when Lego announced they got the Pokemon license, there are rumours there's 1 big Mattel BrickShop Halo Warthog set coming in october, but it's possible thats the only set they release and lego starts releasing sets in 2027.

Post underrated minifigs.

I fucking love the stingrays, their helmets are one of my favorite helmet molds in general and I think the old dark gray/red/brown looks great and gives them an almost industrial feel. I like to army build these guys, if a store I'm using on bricklink has any I like to grab them since they're not too pricey.

Oh so they are literal brainless retards that dont know anything about bionicle lore and how they are bio-mechanical then, huh? Why does lego keep hiring these fake fan fucks to keep raping our beloved franchises? Hope this enrages the bionicle community enough to start cyber attacks against lego or something equally as based

Look man i barely follow lego youtuber/influencer drama i only casually know who people like duck bricks are but it does genuinely disgust me how he didnt even tear into those retard lego designers hard enough for their piss poor choice of making the bionicle lego not a real bionicle. Its like that south park special that came out a few years back that billed itself as "the south park episode that finally makes fun of kathleen kennedy" then it treated KK with kid gloves and tried to paint her in a sympathetic light and not as some sort of irrational man hating extremist cunt which she is. Keep in mind also that trey and matt portrayed george lucas and steven speilberg just 15 years earlier as serial gang rapists lmfao.

So they are just making up excuses now for why they dont want to make a real bionicle minifigure that isnt some neckbeard larping as a bionicle instead, huh? why the fuck would they limit it to a card theme?
I can only see two possibilities for this
either a literal card made of bricks, similar to the sets of paintings that are just studs on large base
or a brick built figure with a card background on the figure's stand
maybe the stand itself could be a card instead?
I see no other way to keep it a "card", but maybe I'm just not creative enough

Why don't you read the guidlines on the site? THEY LITERALLY SAY IT THERE. You can build something like pic related.

>Build a dynamic card:

>Your build should be a card with a frame, showcasing your Pokémon in a vibrant and creative way. It can burst through the frame, use the frame as a backdrop, or something we never even thought of. You are the Trainer here. We've provided an indication of size for the frame, but the rest is up to you!

>Trainer tips:

>Remember, your build must contain only one Pokémon and only from the list on the challenge page. It must be an original creation of a Full Art Pokémon card (not a replica or recreation of an existing Pokémon TCG card). The face of the Pokémon must be clearly visible in the upper half of the card, with no less than 400 pcs and no more than 2500 pcs. Finally, minifigures are not allowed.

>Prizes
>The Grand Prize Selection will see their build turned into a LEGO set. They’ll also receive credit and compensation as described in the Product Ideas Guidelines and Terms of Service.

>The Review Board will review and select up to 5 builds to move to the Fan Vote on 28 May 2026. LEGO Ideas members can vote for their favorite build between between 28 May 2026 and 11 June 2026.

Feel like I never see people talk about the bioncle system sets, anyone have these? The decision to make the initial figures a single mold with no posability really killed initial interest I feel like. The later figures are better, feels like they were built off the exo force robots as a basis, but don't quite look as nice as a proper minifig.

>I’d suspect she has more dirt on the entire system than any of us can possibly comprehend.
That would explain quite a number of things in a few way but it doesnt answer everything either. Iirc the reason why disneh didnt fire kathleen kennedy sooner wasnt so much that the upper brass at disney liked her so much, but more that they couldnt find anyone else to replace her as no one wanted the job and responsibility of running star wars and to burden the blame if the franchise still ended up sucking under their own tenure. So thats why they kept her for so long. Also that pic is interesting but at least hunter stuck to adult hookers. Laptop from hell fiasco was fucking hilarious to watch unfold though.

>LEGO to replace 30% of its workforce with Smart Bricks with aims to go 100% SMART by 2030

>Billund, Denmark: The LEGO Group today has announced a monumental pivot in their business with LEGO Smart Bricks™ set to play an ever-increasing importance in the Danish giant’s operations.

>After a successful trial in 6 countries, The LEGO Group discovered that its latest innovation (dubbed Brick Leap Forward) surpassed all expectations, and was able to unlock even more potential than first realised.

>John LEGO, the President of The LEGO Group said “Our fans were not receptive to news that The LEGO Group was trialling Artificial Intelligence internally to augment our operations, so we were then challenged to find a solution even smarter than ChatGPT or Claude”.

>Chief Smart Officer Dr. Kunstig Hjerne who led the Smart Play™ project described the discovery of latent intelligence within the Smart bricks as a “game-changer”.

>“We didn’t realise what we were building at first, but after data from the initial 6 launch countries started flooding in, we found that Smart Bricks™ were a lot smarter than biological humans”, Dr. Hjerne told press at a closed door briefing in Billund.

>"We don’t even need to hire community managers and influencers any more to drive discussion and engagement online. Any LEGO Smart Play™ post on social media goes gangbusters, and we’re seeing upwards of 67% increase in comments, especially by adult childless LEGO Star Wars fans who still live at home with their parents, a key demographic for us.”, said Claude Grokenstein, Digital Director of The LEGO Group.

I don't know, I think lego will never do real historical warfare but they certainly are no strangers to depicting the concept of war. Introducing realistic guns in western, adapting a series literally called "Star Wars", the Dino Attack theme from 2005 having a very militarized aesthetic, and the toy soldiers in the Toy Story theme feel like they all are "crossing the line" in terms of depicting war. I think they honestly just like to pull the "it's fought with laser guns and robots so it's not like real combat" excuse toy companies love to do. I've never seen anyone talk about it but remember hat shitty overpriced clone battle pack everyone hated? This official render stuck out to me, see the battle droids "surrender" is funny workaround despite making no sende in universe. I think they're fine depicting fantasy and sci fi combat but also will aways dance away from the idea of guns actually being used to shoot anything, even robot soldiers.

I think it’s that the cosplayer aspect intrudes on it being a workable Tahu minifigure. A bionicle minifigure head would’ve been very nice, but even if they kept the cosplayer face behind the mask, why ruin the illusion on the back of the head with the visible headband? Best case scenario: play it both ways. Include an authentic bionicle head and a cosplayer head. But the cosplayer head alone limits what you can do with the figure

the bikr looks cool, the side build has those window and arch pieces I love and you get dragon jay, kai and zane(even if the later two are missing the mask, wings and tail) also the new wind elemental that I assumed was rare and didn't appear in many sets
so why DOES it get flak? is it like stupidly pricey?
>>
>>11749782
no, it's not real
today is April 1st and a leaker played a prank
apparently, some of the leaks he posted today are real, but we don't know which ones
halo is the least likely to be true
not because of lego's no war or no fps rules(even though they are also a factor contributing to this belief), but because I don't believe lego is capable of making sets I would actually like
it has been years since I've wanted to purchase a single lego set, I only buy the bricks I need for what I'm currently building
lego halo sets would change that, so I don't believe it's real
>>
i thought lego didn't make guns unless extremely cartoony so why did anyone think halo was ever gonna happen?

in a Walmart?

I went to a The Lego Store and they had a pro-level table with a glass door under it and about 20 visible chargers inside full of bricks.

there was a group of employees talking amongst themselves:
"this one's out?"
"yeah I know those things don't last too long"
"good thing we have so many of them"

it was too noisy in the store to hear the bricks anyway
>>
>>11749227
To be fair a likely pattern would be to have 1 of each of the following:
- fake that’s interesting
- fake but boring
- real and boring
- real and interesting

The only limitation being how many actually interesting leaks there were. So one of the plausible ones is very likely fake, and it’s in general a 50-50 on which “interesting” item is real. In this case though the incredible is 200000% more plausible than halo.

Anyone else here a period purist in terms of mocs/displays? I make a lot of mocs around old sets I've collected and always feel like I must use elements and colors up to that set's release. I feel like I have absolutey seen this kind of autism before but curious if anyone else does this.
>>
>>11749901
Normalfags can never accept toys as an artform, the ultimate truke is that playsets are better "art" because toys are an intersctive medium and the play is more gripping then just recognizing "this is thing from series I like". This is why vintage lego is them at their best, it's simply the best art.

>Buy a Smart Brick...

I think the Smart Brick will take off once it gets more sound effects. With it being a synth, I willing to bet that Nintendo will be able to pull off their Mario chiptune sound effects.
>>
>>11749945
the little music tunes are the best part.

Lego won't do it, but I can't wait until some 3rd-party does a compatible-with-leading-brands programmable smart tile, similar to the little hockey puck you can Switch (pun!) to various amiibos. imagine uploading a midi tune and when you put Luke next to the smart brick on the programmable tile, it plays the new tune.

it would be funny if a non-Lego upgrade made me want the Smart Brick

What's the problem with this? They're minifigs, it's all approximate. They make Yoda the same size as child Anakin even though Anakin is significantly taller. They don't have special minifig parts to make Chewbacca 7 feet tall.

They sometimes do. They have mini, midi and regular legs, and sometimes they use even longer ones for minifigures like Jack Skellington.

However, some of them still look pretty weird, especially the freakishly long legs. There are plenty of minifigures that don't really scale with each other at all.

and star wars is called star WARS
if the IP has enough selling power, lego will brush it off and make excuses
Halo could be excused as muh fictional scifi, they are not real people, etc
The bigger problem is the star wars contract possibly preventing them from doing other space themed series, like that deal killed the retro space series

>>
>>11749875
That's the problem, you can't buy a smart brick. You can only buy a terrible $70 set to get it.
If you could buy it separately, people would get it out of curiosity, even with just 1 sample nfc plate. But then absolutely NOBODY would buy these terrible star wars sets. It's like they knew these sets look really bad so they both invest millions in marketing and don't send them out to actual lego reviewers and their gay ambassador fagwork
>>
>>11749996
>No, lego designers are autistic for their hard on for costume crap
You are autistic. They are consistent. Consistency is everything for lego
>>
>>11750005
That deal fell of when they renewed the license, also lego is doing more scifi IPs now than before, many in Icons too. For all we know Halo could be a theme like Zelda, it's own thing separate from Icons with 18+ sets, perhaps release more sets than Zelda per year. We had Overwatch that had guns and is closer scifi to Halo.

Fortnite also has guns.

>>
>>11749213
I'm finding it really lame that once again, the majority of fans only pay attention to a theme when there's some sort of nostalgic reference to get people talking, like a buzzword. All I'm seeing online are content creators glazing these two minifigures and acting like they care about the series all of a sudden and people talking about how minifigures are "Suddenly good for the first time" because there's a bionicle reference and a lloyd minifigure. I've been a minifigure fan for years since I got my first one in series 4 so it just makes me feel a bit sad to hear people only complimenting it because they have two albeit cool minifigures but I'm also just sad because I feel like it's just gonna make the minifigire series scalpy again. Whatever. I just feel like the vast majority of the lego community doesnt pay attention to something unless its ninjago or star wars or bionicle or something like that. And I like the themes that are routinely used as punching bags. I like friends i like minifigures i like the nonlicensed themes (dreamz wasnt my favourite but just in general) so i just wish i could see some other diverse content creators and conversations happening that arent just the same 3 topics over and over again.

I did get these in ~2006 (or whatever wave had the scary rubber heads instead of masks) when I was a kid because I preferred them over the figures which I found ugly (I actually like them now as an adult), but after that wave ended I preferred the figures again and as a kid I could only get so many sets a year, and there were also other system sets around that time that were great (some of the best star wars sets came out around this period in my opinion) so those got priority over these later on and then they stopped doing them anyway. The ones I did have were pretty amazing I think these were really overrated, it came with a ton of glow in the dark pieces, a laser brick, and a ton of really cool specialized pieces like big rock bases and a giant head piece.

There were no variations in flesh tone in these sets. Your own indication that there are variances of this structure with different colored "heads" debunks your own claim. and again, it's a "real thing" that uses yellow minifigs instead of flesh-tones. I'm guessing 26 is not a used-number (?) for a specific player and just like, the year.

I'm sure with how much FIFA is pumping money in to this the royalties from Lego will be huge so even if it does sell well, Lego won't see much of that money and it will depend on FIFA wanting to pony up or renegotiate for another wave. Realistically this is a wave to promote the World Cup and likely won't affect sales beyond the summer. Don't forget, Lego has done sports themes before.

in the past, people would MOC this sort of thing, it took skill and practice and talent

Lego just made it easier. this is the equivalent of Nintendo Power giving you the map for the game. some people would rather PLAY the game, and others would rather take the shortcut.

especially if you're a soccer fan and just want a cool thing to put on your shelf with your fav player. honestly, for what these are, they're kinda neat. I wish they were for something other than soccer, but I think they'll get to other sports eventually, if these do well (I hope? only so they can do other sports)

You guys have no idea how angry I am at Lego for how they handle the Toy Story license (I will still buy these sets, but I’m angry). They could have fixed it so easily. The alien set could have easily included three alien minifigures, or Buzz and alien minifigures, and Lotso could have had a minifigure with a Lotso head mold that could be stored inside the brick built version. Just stupid choices, man.

Also, I am surprised by the lack of Buzz. Some fans think he is absent from this year sets because the Lightyear movie sets flopped, and Lego, like the idiots they are, think the character was the problem, not the movie. And it is crazy because Buzz is a main lead of Toy Story 5 with Jessie, since Woody will not be the lead.

Atleast we got him last year and the set will be available till december.

>>
>>11750382
It is odd they went for the alien over Buzz. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the brickbuilt characters but you’d think they’d have had Buzz in there too as well.

With so many licences themes getting large 18+ sets (SpongeBob/POTC/LotR etc). I’m surprised Toy Story didn’t get one at all. Like for the 30th Anniversary they could have done Andy’s room or maybe a Pizza Planet Truck or something complete with all the characters. I don’t think the sets we’ve got are bad but it just seems like such a missed opportunity given what other themes have got. Even something like a Speed Champions Pizza Planet truck with Woody and Buzz would have been cool (I know the scale wouldn’t make sense but still).

If you are that angry, don't buy the sets, because otherwise you're greenlighting their products.

Vote with your wallet. Get the sets new but secondhand if you must.

>trans pieces like the yellow window and the blaster have no light
>Is the stud shooter on top also dark grey, but then why is it a different gray than all the rest of the build, unless the build is a new dark-sand-blue or something.

although I guess it would be accurate to the S1 show where these "off-world Jawas" are from.

that does make me wonder about the culture. The ropes and the color of their sand-crawler must match for a reason. Do jawas have like clans? imagine just some jawa clan that decided they gonna be the wild ones and are rocking a hot-pink sand-crawler.

I think Lego is too powerful at this point for any company to have their monopoly ever truly challenged but I do think there is just enough success from smaller brands to not consider. Honestly I hope the failure of smart bricks can act as a major wakeup call to them, no one wanted or wants this shit and you can only get so far selling something attached to the Star Wars brand. The sequel trilogy was a failure, most of the spinoff shows have been a failure, and you can only remake so many EP1-6 scenes, they need to realize they are not untouchable.
>>
>>11750762
Mattel saw people buy the $40-$50 range the most thanks to hot wheels sets, I think there's a Skeletor bust coming for $30 and a Battle Cat for $30.

I kind of worry about what getting the Pokemon license will do for them. Outside of Marvel this is the second IP they have aquired that can seriously rival Star Wars in terms of potential sales while also providing a much wider range of concepts and locations to farm easy set potential from but I almost feel like they're actually going to fuck it up. The current wave hasn't had as strong of a success as they probably imagined, the starters are fine but way too expensive and even the biggest shills have criticized the Pikachu. Have they said anything about smartplay crossover? Lego might seriously find a way to fuck up having literally one of the biggest IPs of all time somehow.
>>
>>11750778
This right here is what I do not understand about what Lego and Mattel are doing.

Lego has recently started making more of these buildable characters instead of minifigure sets, and Mattel is no longer making their microfigures. Both of these brands had figures as their main selling point and the thing that made them different from other brands.

Lego had their iconic minifigure design, and Mattel had their microfigure design, which was an articulated micro action figure. Genius. And they seem to have dropped it. Why? Any other company can make a buildable character, but none can make those types of figures. I genuinely do not understand it. Also, this year has the most buildable characters in the entire Disney theme. Why? What is going on?
>>
>>11750785
I find it generally depends on the elements in question, featuring rare or unique molds or pieces in a rare color usually means buying the full set is usually the easier option I find. Awhile ago I wanted to order a single part from a set, a horse barding used in a single theme only to find it goes for $40 while a set featuring it usually goes for $70. Parting out is definitely significantly cheaper when you can do it though.
>>
>>11750790
Apparently, the $600 set of Kanto starters sold like crazy. We do not have official data, but Jangbricks speculates Lego made around $60 million from those sets since launch. Of course, that does not mean it will make more, because these sales must have come from Pokémon ultra fans, and now the sets will sit on shelves for a while until discounts. Eevee must have sold like crazy too because it is the cheapest of the bunch right now. The one that had the worst sales is probably Pikachu.

Also, keep in mind the smart bricks range will not be available everywhere. It will be available in the same six markets Lego is selling the Star Wars range in right now. So the only Pokémon summer sets that will release worldwide this summer are four 18+ sets with Poké Ball builds with minifigures, which will be a huge seller, plus Rayquaza, Munchlax, and Arcanine. So this launch is pretty weak. Lego should not have made 12 smart brick sets for Pokémon that will not be available worldwide. It's insane!
>>
>>11750800
>Jangbricks speculates Lego made around $60 million from those sets since launch
His reasoning held up (counting the regions where set-exclusive GWPs sold out with the known available quantities)
>>
Just look how many buildable characters lego disney released up until april this year. And there are even more coming in the summer..
>>
>>11750763
The two things that make Lego leaps and bounds over their competition is: The minifigures, and the sheer number of licenses they hold. That's why they go pretty hard on protecting and defending the trademarks and copyrights. The only other company who has even come close to Lego with their minifigures is Mattel's Megablocks/Mega Construx figures. And that's because they went the route of making them fill a completely different niche than Lego minifigures. They're just like a tiny action figure with a lot of articulation, and modular weapons and armor and stuff. Most other "not-Lego"s try to just kinda, sorta, maybe copy the Lego minifigure, but just a little bit and not too much, and they just fail miserably.

The biggest mark against modern Lego for most people is actually the price. Many of the sets are just criminally overpriced. Of course, the most overpriced ones tend to be Star Wars, and other large IPs with rabid paypig fanbases who might complain, but will still buy everything anyway.

There are plenty of not-Lego brands that are really picking up steam, though. I doubt they will ever be as popular as Lego, but brands like Lumibricks, Phantasy, and Funwhole (lol) are gaining a lot of momentum. They're putting out large, modular-esque buildings and other huge sets for like, 1/3 to 1/2 the price of similar size/piece count Lego sets.
>>
>>11750728
>>11750742
I got back into Lego back in November, and this is at least the 4th price increase in Speed Champions I've seen. A lot of them on the shelves that were 2023/2024 ones were still $24.99. Then the 2025 ones were $26.99. Then Kachigger and the DeLorean were $27.99. And now they're $30.
>>
>>11750807
Disney needs to die
>>
>>11750818
I wanna tell you. A reason why lego goes so hard on getting so many licenses right now even if they are one and done under icons is because they don't want the competition to use them. Like in smiling friends, "its my IP to stay on and do nothing with it!"

So would lego halo sets surprise me? Not at all because it will be the final fuck yoy to mega bloks, their old enemy.

Lego doesn't like working with Nintendo because Nintendo forces them to pad print everything except for the smart mario baby sets.

That shit costs them 3 cents too much so they would rather work with Disney who lets them Sticker shit everything so they can squeeze out that extra cash each sale.

The antennae were not exclusive to him. They were also used that same year with the alien buggoids (specifically the Mosquitoid and the Mantoid) in the Galaxy Squad theme.

The antennae were just tiny pieces that got lost really easily. If you just want a generic bug guy, you could probably opt to buy one of the Buggoids instead. Even the ones complete with the antennae cost like a quarter of what that guy does.

On a lot of levels.

Why?
>>
>>11750868
Not a fan of the look of the buggoids personally, the mantid look of the toy story head is cooler to me. It sucks that they couldn't have featured the antennae in green in that line though. As an old castle fan though I'm not unused to these kind of pieces being expensive, some of the rarer plumes can go for lime $30-40 nowadays.

Pure speculation but i wonder if it has to due from some old boomer retard at lego who hate minifigs and who to prioritize the brick built shit because they think "durr dats what real lego should be" and its gonna blow up in their fucking fave when these minifigure-less brick built shit sets rot on store shelves cuz no one wants this shit
>>11750831
>A reason why lego goes so hard on getting so many licenses right now even if they are one and done under icons is because they don't want the competition to use them. Like in smiling friends, "its my IP to stay on and do nothing with it!"
We already knew that with how lego treated bionicle for years. Pic related
>>
why didn't lego invest in new light bricks instead of this retarded lego mario brick
>>
>>11750874
I like the buggoids quite a lot, but funny enough, I like the two more generic looking ones on the left than the two on the right.

How much did this ad cost Lego to make? I hope Fifa paid for it and not Lego because that money... could've been used in other ways!!! Normies are going crazy for it tho so I guess the sets will sell like crazy?
>>
when will lego make an action figure theme ?
>>
>>11750893
When they reboot Bionicle again

I don't get why they aren't doing buildable brick built Bionicle figures, the Tahu gwp was popular and fans are open to the idea. Personally I wish they would make Bionicle a Technic subtheme again because I'm sure they can use Technic very well to remake the old Toa.
>>
>>11750895
Here's a Bionicle body made entirely of current Technic pieces.

The people who build lego and the people that like sports are not the same people.

Okay they're nowhere near as bad as I remembered but this one in particular in black is weirdly expensive, cheapest one on bricklink is $27. I remember some og the side plumes for the dragon masters helmets being pricier but I guess I misremembered.
>>
>>11750941
But lego wants the people who like sports to buy them not those who build lego. This exists to get new target demographics. To extend lego's reach to new audiences like botanicals did. Who thought lego plants will become best sellers? Nobody did but it happened so they want to do the same here. Thats why Editions exists and they will do music too. Remember when vidiyo was announced thanks to universal music partnership and fans hoped it would be real life singers minifigs but it turned out how it did. I do.
>>
>>11750945
If I'm into sportsball I'm not wasting my money on legos when so many other cheaper memorabilia exists for me to purchase. Why the fuck would I as a soccer fan buy a fragile expensive model I have to build when I could purchase cards, jerseys, balls, shoes, statutes, and actual autographs? This is beyond retarded. This is not the demographic that lego is going to win over.
>>
>>11750949
Plus, that demographic doesn’t have disposable income to buy tiny plastic building blocks. That’s why soccer is popular worldwide, virtually zero initial investment and lowest common denominator.
We’ll be seeing Lego tables with fifa sets for sale by boomers at Walmart in a few weeks. >>11749875

Ha, Argie here, saw this on TV yesterday (in a sort of laid-back noon news). The anchor wondered how much it cost for all them for. He also understood it as it being the kid's own fig and made some awkward pauses to reorient his talk as he couldn't mention Lego's name because of copyright. And after looping all that footage he added as an aside: "You know where this company is from? *co-hosts bumbing I don't know*, Denmark, and they just got excluded from the world cup "

In short it wasn't really him going "How cute!" in a condescending way but veered towards that. It was him kinda awkard and confused. I don't want to sound too preachy or butthurt but this is the kind of normalfag that they want to appeal to. (Maybe not as a customer but as an appreciator who looks at what his hipster manchild friend bought). A disaster I tell you. (I hope Fifa paid or it was a sort of package deal)

if the pad printing was done right, it takes more than just alcohol. you need real paint thinner.

you have to be quick with the paint thinner, use the smallest amount and wipe it off quick, otherwise the plastic itself will melt and you'll be able to tell it was messed-with

It's more aimed towards a kind of hipster that has some kind of subdued desire of normalfag acceptance ot at least following of what is massively popular. Most geeky stuff is what is "approved" (a mindset which I tihnk is shared by many executives at Lego) like Star Wars or Marvel, or normie stuff that is heavily shilled like F1 and Fifa, as of late it happens ot One Piece because of the live action.
But to get back in track, it's maybe a mix of that desire to fit in the block above, and some passing appreciation for the national team. In Latin America and Spain it permeates so that no one can ignore the existance of football, in Argentina it reaches almost cultural monoculture levels. And I mean that it permeates all kind of people, from the dopiest autist, the jet-set fratty boy, the liberal Pottrehead girl the slummiest poor. So even some geekier people have their opinions in football (even if the only reason is that if you can't answer what your fav team is, you are as misfit as an atheist in the middle ages). That obviously applies to the kind of clout-chasing influencer, again I saw one really prund of his 9000 piece display set, but it was one who was a geek overall who saw Lego as another geek thing (but these adult sets because he's a quirky adult). Any other influencer of the same kind, but with Lego as his main thing, is likely to buy this.

And I’m immediately transported to 2007.
It’s December.
I’m in Chicago looking for a job after college.
I’m with my college girlfriend who’s already living there.
It’s cool but not cold.
Snow gently begins to fall.
We miss our bus but it doesn’t matter.
We hug closer and walk home hand in hand.
We get home and listen to chasing cars by snow patrol.
Now it’s a vivid dream of a memory from half a lifetime ago.
