So, which sets do you like the most from this new wave? I'm going bankrupt with all the new sets coming out, Lego just keeps cooking guys.
>Chopper & Dr. Hiriluk Hideout - $29.99
>Showdown with Captain Smoker - $59.99
>Tony Tony Chopper - $69.99
>Dory vs Brogy - Giants of Little Garden - $79.99
>Battle at Drum Castle - $99.99
>Garp’s Marine Battleship - $169.99

So I’ve been thinking about how LEGO could actually reboot Bionicle without repeating G2’s mistakes, and honestly the answer seems pretty obvious now.
The big change is the build style. Drop pure constraction and go mostly System with some Technic. Basically a Technic skeleton with ball joints, then layered brick-built armor on top. Around 130–170 pieces per Toa. It keeps the posability but makes them feel like real LEGO sets again, and way more customizable.
Price-wise it has to stay accessible:
Toa in the $15–20 range
Small villains around $10–15
Mid-tier villains $25
Titan maxing out at $40
Wave 1 would just be the classic Toa Mata lineup:
Tahu with sword and shield, more bulky and aggressive
Gali with hooks/spears and smoother armor shaping
Lewa lighter, fast-looking, maybe small brick-built wings
Onua as the heavy tank with a hammer
Pohatu more compact and agile
Kopaka with spear and shield, cleaner icy design
Villains would be simple but effective:
A cheap beast enemy (Rax) for army building
Humanoid “corruptor” enemies with an infection gimmick
Warden Gravox as the main boxed villain
And a titan called The Kernel as the big bad
Play features stay straightforward:
Swappable masks with simple “power” identities
A core piece in each chest for collectibility
Toa can combine in pairs into larger builds
Summer wave would expand things instead of replacing them:
Upgraded versions of the same Toa with new armor and masks
Shift the setting into jungle and underwater environments
Introduce a Barraki-style creature villain
Add a bigger titan like the Shadow Colossus
Plus smaller creature sets and mask packs as cheap entry points
>>

>>11753466
Story would start simple and build over time:
The world is basically a giant biomechanical system being taken over by something called the Archive, a corrupted AI rewriting everything
The Toa are reactivated defenders tied to different regions
Masks are fragments of control over this system
Instead of dumping heavy lore immediately, just do short-form content online and slowly expand it.
Rough 3-year plan:
Year 1 establishes the core six and main conflict
Year 2 expands the world, adds combiners and maybe a simple game tie-in
Year 3 goes bigger with a show and larger display-style sets
Main goal is just to make Bionicle feel like LEGO again while keeping the identity that made it stand out in the first place. Now, pic related is AI but I used it to give you an idea how the sets could look based on >>11753466 this set moc made for Tahu gwp.

And wave 2. I think this idea has potential to be a big hit for Lego and can make cool mocs eith both technic and system.

The second wave was cancelled, it was supposed to release in 2012, there are pics of a few sets if you google it. The Galaxy Squad big bug thing that laucnhes eggs was a Alien Conquest set modified for Galaxy Squad.

I'm a zoomer (born when Bionicle G1 released lol), never ever owned one Bionicle set, not even G2 though I was aware of it but was in dark age then, I think the lore is fucking amazing and no theme has come close to replicating the sheer scale of it other than Ninjago and I guess Chima. Was into Hero Factory though (but I owned knockoff Hero Factory not real Lego). I will buy like 3 or 4 Tahu cmfs because I want a part of that legacy since now I only buy official lego sets. I got the Ninjago 15th anniversary display last week for example because I'm nostalgic for Ninjago. On Bionicle I respect it and think it was badass but the reboot came at the wrong time in my opinion. But if they would reboot it now? I'd buy it.
>>
Why do zoomers hype up so much the time period of 2007-2013 of lego? The themes released during that time were pretty bad. I also see they glaze the shit out of Power Miners, Space Police, Exo Force and Mars Mission as being the holy grail of Lego. (Though I recently see Chima and Nexo Knights glazers too)...
>>
>>11753462
Fuck I didn't watch s4 did I just get beatrix spoiler?
Also the legends mechs look awesome but that's to be expected from legends kino! As for the fortnite one......I actually think it's really cute but I can't wait for them to do that thing where they sell just the minifigures in 2027
>>
>>11753481
People like things from when they were kids the reason you're seeing chima and nexo knights "glaze" is because time is passing by and the kids that grew up on those are looking back at it and appreciating it.

wall of text. I can feel your passion
Sorry but Lego is not going to touch Bionicle due to muh-culture-stealing politics with all the names. you might as well be hoping they bring back the Washington Redskins. same vibes.
the only slim-chance reality would be a giant only-option $500 set with a massive nostalgia display. remember we all did math on how profitable that kind of thing is? it might generate tens of millions of dollars for Lego. but probably still not worth it due to all the 100% unique pieces it would likely require (unless they were all brick-built, which would enrage fans? might still sell if done right)

Would you be ok? By that I mean very tiny technic figures in blind boxes with some printed piece for mask.
Also, anyone excited for these? And no, they aren't replacing minifigures series, they are a separate subtheme of technic, why didn't F1 cmf have the same treatment? No idea

Pic related is one of the concepts considered by Lego for what became Tahu GWP
>>
>>
>>11753439
>why are some just costumes and others the actual characters?
Tahu is the only costume because Lego actively despises Bionicle fans so even when they throw them a bone they have to add an insult on there out of spite.

it might seem that way...
(pic related was in a 6000+ piece Ninjago set I forgot the huge price lol)
but I think it's more likely Lego feels intense shame for the name-culture-insensitivity stuff. if they had only come up with completely original names, I think it's likely that Lego would have done -something- (?) with it by now (or even kept it going for all these years)
making a "cosplay character" gives Lego a level of separation. it's not Lego doing the culture-robbing, it's that one minifig doing it, instead (conceptually, of course. the irony is that it's still Lego doing the figure in the first place)

I'm excited they were smart enough to have packaging with the windows so you can see how the little figures look. I'm definitely holding judgement until I see them in person
I will admit I like the smaller scale. it lets them lower the prices but still have the castle and mountain and stuff, and it's not $200 each one like Lego would have done (speculation)

This sounds lovely! I think the Toa should stay below 20 for sure. I'd dig a smaller scale for that. What they should definitely emphasize in this scenario is the combining. Basically Mixels, to be honest. Mixels was fantastic, and you could easily dress the concept up with Bionicle and extra mask packs.

>Knights Kingdom is cool though?
Knights Kingdom II is like the blueprint for modern lego themes with its color coded named characters and emphasis on conflict in a box design philosophy. I had a lot of tge first two waves growing up but can say this theme sucked ass and is maybe the lowest point in castle's history.
>>
>>
File: cas292.png (134.5 KB)

My favorite thing in Knights Kingdom II is this minifigure from the third and final wave. First time I saw it I thought someone was just stupid and tagged it wrong but no, in one of the biggest sets of the theme they made a minifig that's just has unprinted reddish brown legs with an unprinted reddish brown torso.
>>
>>
>>11753455
I still think this theme has so much potential, especially if it goes on hiatus and returns as a standard One Piece theme instead of being based on the Netflix show. The fantastical locations and characters are done dirty by having to be depicted by their live action counterparts.
Just imagine how cool the following would be, as official sets, rendered with manga / anime accurate minifigs and locations:
Enies Lobby
Marineford
Thousand Sunny
Wano
Whole Cake Island
Egghead

There are two big issues to tackle for any Bionicle revival attempt going forward: price and appeal.
Price is simple. These sets need to be small and be piece efficient in manufacturing. I hate this but it's just the new world we live in, a lot has changed in twenty years.
Appeal is more complicated. I personally believe that action figures have supremely gone out of fashion (or at least declined majorly in popularity) over the past decade. Constraction and/or brick built figs might be a different niche arguably however I don't know if there is a place in the market for a theme like this anymore.
One other thing is scope. I like your ideas but there's a problem, which is that the days of "six fellas in canisters per wave" model is over. Bionicle simply cannot have the number of sets you are describing, nowhere near close in fact. The few sets they make need to be all budget, with only one being the xpensive marquee showstopper purchase.

Been looking into lumibricks recently, sets are quite impressive but I unfortunately feel like the lack of licensed IPs really kills i terest for normalfags but for legofags I think the minifig design is what I have been seeing as the most common complaint. I've been trying to warm up to them but the round beer belly bottoms and weird flap on the heads is offputting. Will literally anyone ever get the minifig right? It seems like other companies have reached a point where tgis is genuinely the greatest disadvantage they are facing.

Lego themselves have re-done the little figures, several times.
Lego is expanding the not-minifig sets at an unbelievable rate, other rip-off companies can copy that style of building set 100%. for example, Mattel is doing Speed Champions-ish cars and even including actual matching Hot Wheels with them.
none of that matters, Lego is still crushing it.

Since we are getting closer to the five season story arc for Dragons Rising ending, at least that is what they said when it was announced, with the story starting in 2023 and expected to wrap up in 2027, and with plans already in place for 2028 and 2029 sets, I am curious what you think.
What do you think is the best set or thing that came from this era? And what are your thoughts on Legends and Legacy? I think after the success of the fifteenth anniversary Legacy sets, Legacy will continue beyond this year and we might finally get more show accurate sets like the blacksmith shop. Legends is pretty cool but they should do longer episodes, I like the idea of a Ninjago for older fans though Dragons Rising is also very mature.
I can also say the villains we got in 2025 and 2026 for Dragons Rising are incredible and on par with years one and two of classic Ninjago. And with a live action Ninjago possibly coming in 2028 or 2029, the series is just growing. Maybe we will even get another big Ninjago video game like the upcoming Lego Batman game.
Only thing is for sure, Ninjago is here to stay and soon we will celebrate their 20th, 25th and 30th. Oh, I also think pic related is badass.
>>11754087
Ninjago has a good show, can be watched by adults too, the other lego theme shows were cringey. Chima had amazing lore but an awful tv show. I do wish they brought back Chima, the only theme out of those that deserves a second chance.

When they announced DR at SDCC in 2023, they said the story was planned as a five season story arc. However, I do think Doc Wyatt, who has been leading Ninjago since Tommy Andreasen stepped away, mentioned that Dragons Rising itself will continue beyond that.
Right now, all we know is that in Season 4 Part 2, coming this summer, we should finally get our first look at Lord Ras’s master and start setting up the final battle for this story arc in 2027. After Season 5, the show might continue under the Dragons Rising iteration or possibly get a new name. Either way, these characters and the story will keep growing.
I expect another soft reboot, similar to what happened when the show was rebranded to just Ninjago after Masters of Spinjitzu ended following the Oni Trilogy, which ran from 2019 until 2022. And then again in 2023 with Dragons Rising brand. By the end of 2027 DR will be 5 years old and will need to get new kids hooked as the story keeps growing so a soft reboot is needed so they won't need to watch the older seasons. Dragons Rising works even if you never watched the show until then.
So there could be another rebrand around 2028, especially with the live action movie also in development. If the Legends sets are anything to go by, I think they might be preparing something like a “Ninjago: The Next Generation” concept. That is just my speculation, but it seems possible since the children or descendants of the ninja will appear in the summer sets and CMF Series 29.
Lloyd will apparently have a unique role, as the story suggests he comes from an alternate timeline where the other ninja are dead, or at least that is what we have been told. Of course, that information came from the CMF theme designer, and the actual Ninjago team might handle it differently. Ultimately, it is up to them to decide.

Because Exo Force could return very well, it has story potential. And with AI threat it works too also we could have them go in space too like Gundam and fight aliens in mechs. Only problem is ninjago doing so many mechs so ninjago would need to make less mech sets. Golden city wave was cool.

By the end of 2026 lego will have only ninjago, friends, city and creator as non licensed themes. 4 themes and the rest are licenses. Lego also changed the retirement date for ALL dreamzzz sets to december 31, 2026. This year sets and last year summer sets were supposed to retire in 2027 and 2028. We are cooked.
I don't get how its so much profitable for lego to make licensed themes that they have to pay license fees and a big part of profits goes to the licensor than making original in house themes where all the profit goes in house. Make it make sense...

Emailed customer support about Monkie Kid return
Trying to get the ninjago rebound effect by emailing them. This is how my parents did it for me in 2013, so I guess it’s my turn to do it. I would encourage everyone to do the same so they know the theme is wanted.
(Saw someone else do it first and wanted to support them)
>>
>>
>>11754122
The last time Lego even had a dedicated space theme was 2013 with Galaxy Squad, and it was one of maybe two or three space themes that actually had a bad guy faction with their own vehicles and backstory.
Since then Lego space has just been nothing but a spinoff of City, and its just Lego Not-NASA. And the only time aliens appear now is when they're cutesy little friendly guys. Just about as close as they get to space "bad guys" anymore is stuff like random drops in CMF waves. And even then, stuff like the Blacktron II guy was half mutated monster thing.
When Lego was actually regularly doing space themes, it was perfectly fine and easy for them to alternate between Good guys, bad guys, and even civilian space factions without needing there to be the "conflict in a box." I mean, it was easy to just look at factions like Blacktron, Spyrius, UFO, etc. and know they were bad guys.

>Lloyd will apparently have a unique role, as the story suggests he comes from an alternate timeline where the other ninja are dead, or at least that is what we have been told. Of course, that information came from the CMF theme designer
Do you have a source on that?
I figured an adult lloyd would just be "he's old but aging slower than normal humans so all of his friends have already died of old age"

people who were kids when ninjago started are now adults with too much disposable income for their own good since saving up for a house is no longer possible

Did you know an alien invasion storyline was actually considered a few times for Ninjago? The Hageman brothers wanted to introduce aliens in season 4, but the Ninjago lead designer Tommy Andreasen pushed back on the idea. He felt that space and aliens did not belong in Ninjago, so they went with the tournament instead. That is also why one episode in season 3 shows the ninja in space, it was originally meant to set up season 4.
They even thought about doing another alien invasion later on after Andreasen left the team to focus on Dreamzzz, but it never turned into anything. Honestly, I doubt we will see it happen anytime soon.
There is also some concept art of an alien spaceship from the era when Ninjago was doing dungeons, gamers, and similar themes.

Ok, I looked it up, Lego Vidiyo was launched in march 2021 and cancelled in july 2021 with all sets retiring by january 2022.
Smart Bricks launched in March so we should have a sort of announcement in July? Or only after Pokemon launch? I doubt pokemon will save them including for the fact the sets will be available in only 6 countries. They really fucked the pokemon theme in 2026 because of smart bricks integration.

They did work on a revival internally but it fell off. We even have 2022 list of sets
>>
>>11754224
Not him but I think his reasoning is because kids or parents would save up money and buy these as gifts during the holidays and thats when biggest lego sales happen.
I personally think by august the fate of the smart play will be decided. Problem is smart play launched in 6 countries only so you don't really see how bad it really does compared to vidiyo which launched globally I also think the tech needed for smart bricks gets more expensive because of wars.
>>
>>
>>11754233
It will matter to us not them because it means all that money and development time spent on smart bricks instead of something better and they'll probably use it as an excuse to price gouge even more go recoup their costs.
Also hundreds of employees are banished to the underground bunkers where there will be forced to take picture with vitiligo cavemen for promo pictures.

that Fortnitie set is one of the worst sets Lego has done in years. I know nothing about Fortnite, but that monster thing looks amazing. worth consideration, even without knowing anything about Fortnite, the big toothy chomper is neat.
but TWO minifigs?
it's not even only-$100. it's $110.
and one of those minifigs is a re-color piece. that banana head mold is not new.
who is this skeleton guy? did Lego think he's worth $110 all by himself? if this set had 8 or 9 more characters like the bus set had, I might have got it, but 2 minifigs is ridiculous, especially considering Fortnite has like what, 5000 characters? and a lot of them could be simple torso prints and hair piece re-colors...
>>
>>
>>
>>11754312
It's literally some big faggot from like 3 years ago that isnt in the game anymore. Lego Fortnite is a terrible idea because nothing is consistent in Fortnite. Sets will be out dated by the time they release based on shit that isnt in the game anymore. It would have been cool if they made cool looking guns with cool prints to mimic the skins from the game or something.

Such is the way sadly. Want space? Buy Star Wars. Want castle? But Lord of the Rings. Want a non licensed IP? Well your choices are Ninjago, whatever the Ninjago adjacent currently is, or a $350 collector's set.
>>
>>
>>11754316
Yes, One Piece is my favorite manga, it's a highly popular IP with all ages but especially children, and long-time Lego fans love pirates, why wouldn't it be ok?
I just personally want manga accuracy instead of Netflix shittery, but as >>11754307 says, that will hopefully become sometime in the next couple of years. And one upside of the Netflix designs is that they're more stereotypically pirate-y instead of being a weirder pirate fantasy which I feel appeals more to Lego pirates boomers.

Only if it were a full theme, I don't consider $500 sets once a year a full theme. Now if DnD or Zelda became a full theme like One Piece or Harry Potter? I'd be ok with that. Also I don't consider Harry Potter a Castle theme, more like a spin off if you will.

Say it lads, would you prefer 6-7 sets at different price points per year for LotR or Zelda? Only one of theme could get this treatment and the other will be locked in to 18+ $500 sets.
I vote Zelda as full theme even though I love LotR but I think Zelda has more variety and set potential.

Oda's best friend is a pedophile and One Piece is incredibly lewd through the entire series. Dragon Ball is only lewd at the start. Basically get 0 fan service from the manga after a while. It's also easy for remakes to work around the lewdness of Dragon Balk because it was more or less out there as a joke as opposed to One Piece which has the lewdness baked into the characters and world.
>>
>>11754338
Listen, they don't look bad, but manga accurate figures would be so much better. I hate that Lego is moving away from tooning and trying to unify fig faces, you can see this in Star Wars with humanoid characters who have historically had makeup or even unique headpieces, and they're now just standard fig heads, the usual head expressions that you might see in a City set, etc.

There are nearly infinite "sets" they could do for Zelda. how many games? how many dungeons? boss characters, locations, the wooden sword guy, chicken farmer... it blows your mind with how deep the well could go
same with Star Trek. they could do zillions of those, too.

I was thinking of getting the full range of shart brick sets for 95% off once it’s already cancelled but the more I look at it I realize it’s stuff lego already produces but at a better quality elsewhere. You wouldn’t even buy them for minisfigures because they are minis you get elsewhere without the trash can logo printed on the side and unfortunate logo on the back. It’s not even a good parts pack because the sets are tiny and specialized. The only reason to get them is for shitposting.

Hard to believe someone involved in both Pokemon cards and Lego could make something like this. The scalper/“investor” situation in either hobby is so different as to be totally incomparable. Scalping is practically non-existent in LEGO save for a handful of specific promo sets (GWPs, insider rewards). And insofar as there’s an “investor” class, it seems to have simply latched onto a fairly “organic” trend of post-retirement growth.
In pokemon, stores are cleaned out the moment they’re stocked, especially of trendy, desirable product, but even of garbage sets no one really wants, and the massive influx of “investors” has jacked the price of vintage cards to ludicrous extremes. Decades-old cards I bought just pre-pandemic are now selling for 10-15X what I bought them for, and these cards are steadily trending back to where they were during the retarded pandemic boom where people panic- and hype-bought cards for 3x the price they sold for just a couple weeks prior.

If you are an adult - being in pokemon or lego hobbies outside of this /lg/ thread on 4chan is pain.
It's either reddit level "my wife gifted me this black box of flowers" or WORSE.
it's not fun.
it's not fun.
it's soul crushing.
Normies fried their minds to the point of no return. They live in "minimalism" world where they can't have "stuff" because it's a "Visual Noise".
So they can buy only black boxes of maximum normie level.
Stuff like (insert any original theme) is cringe for them and a sign of a "poorfag" or "creepy nerd".
I'm not even kidding - i once heard how normies discuss interior design and say that buying regular Lego "cheats you in the eyes of others," and that the interior should be furnished with 18+ Lego.
+ scalpers and investors do exist in lego - it's not as terrible as in pokemon but still.
Both of these hobbies were touched by a normie-hand that made it less fun.

Lego is producing more sets and more varied sets than ever. Courting a “””mature””” audience in addition to kids gives you nothing but more options.
I accept and agree with your points about normie minimalism and the embarrassing quality of Lego’s yuppie lifestyle marketing and whatever else, but I genuinely fail to see how this affects you at all. If you don’t like flowers or $500 shelf warmers (or $500 shelf warming flowers), don’t buy them. And to the point about being perceived as a weird, creepy nerd — if anything, you were creepier and nerdier prior to the influx of adult hobbyists.
Apart from that, my point wasn’t about, I don’t know, the psychic damage incurred as a result of “adult” interest in a kid’s toy. My point was that Pokemon card scalpers and investors are a wholly separate and far more insidious phenomenon than Lego scalpers/investors. These things are totally incomparable both in their insane mania and their deleterious effects on their respective hobbies.

Back then it wasn't that easy to pull a charizard.
Also you was just a kid stuck with 90s parents.
The wasting money/consumerist culture wasn't as crazy as today. I also thought about this "hehe let's go back and hoard charizards :^)" but ended up with understanding that.
1) parents would not give me that much money because it was just pocket money or "i will buy you a couple of boosters if you will be good boy :^)" - otherwise you had to do heavy tantrums and begging and it would look stupid and ruin your bonding with your parents.
2) even if they did - pulling Charizard wasn't as easy
3) i would end up with "just vintage slop"
4) waiting 25-30+ years is difficult.
If you gonna use a time machine - just buy Bitcoin in the 2010s, anon.

Oh, I don’t really follow the state of Lego discourse online. I just buy sets I like and where I can’t find things that fit my taste, I’ll look for MoCs or build them myself, and I’ve never once had my fun diminished by whatever it is normies are doing :^)

reduce the colour palette
reduce the amount of molds
shrug off licensed IPs
reduce the amount of sets per wave
technic figure line as a bankruptcy shield
box backgrounds made of extremely early cgi or cut up layered paper
alternate models on the backs of boxes
no electronic shit
no tv shows

bulk brick tubs actually work with your sets with reduced molds so kids can moc something that fits with the theme

If TT Games wasn't busy making overdeveloped sequels for Star Wars or Batman that were mid at best, we would have a Lego One Piece game by now.
I imagine it playing similar to Lego Pirates of the Carribbean, but the Devil fruit powers being similar to the powers from the superheroes games. Luffy would be able to transform like Plastic Man or Mr Fantastic.

it's a shame how good the two Mario movies did, and how Lego whoops-out by not making sets. this clearly would have been another case of Lego spoiling a movie bit, by making a minifig of Fox McCloud
the previewed Mario minifigure is clearly based off of the game version, as the movie-version character models are slightly altered to the standard versions
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11754628
those games used to do tons of new characters Lego have not yet (or since) touched, so I don't think it would be a problem for them to step over Lego's or Netflix's heads by skipping forward.
but you can't make a game without an ending, and I'm pretty sure the anime is not over yet
>>
>>
>>11754639
>so I don't think it would be a problem for them to step over Lego's or Netflix's heads by skipping forward.
I imagine it being similar to Lego Avengers where the story mode is based on season 1 and 2 of the Netflix series, but some some characters from the later chapters and classic skins for the main characters based on the manga, like how Lego Avengers was based on Avengers and Age of Ultron but had characters not yet adapted into the MCU and characters from the comics as unlockables.
>you can't make a game without an ending
Lego Hobbit, also Lego Stars Wars had multiple games to add the newest movies, technically Indiana Jones and Pirates had sequels come out after their respective games.

It's probably because they didn't know how to make it to reach the $70 price point otherwise. Even though they did a cheap T-Rex set tho. Lego gives every year different price point to designers and they have to design the sets around it.

One of the coolest things about old Lego sets was the little catalogues showing upcoming sets, and how they would set up little scenes like this that were essentially "Where's Waldo"-tier setups and it was fun looking at what all the minifigures were doing.
>Two guys in the background, desperately trying to flip their overturned boat back over.
>Guying being forced to walk the plank with a shark below.
>Redbeard with his pistol trained on a couple more guys on a boat. Are they running away? Enemy pirates trying to board? Who knows!
>Two pirates in the foreground opening a chest with a head in it while one guys hat gets blown away.
Does anyone remember in the 90's when Lego stores would have these massive cylindrical displays where they'd have these cool scenes built in them like huge cliff faces with pirates, or castle minifigures, or planetscapes with space minifigures and all running around doing stuff?

I would like to know if any information has been released regarding these upcoming LEGO building sets. It seems we need to place an order soon, but due to a lack of information, we haven't made a decision yet. Here are the sets in question:
42701 Koala Habitat & Care Center
42242 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5023 with Crane
31388 Wild Animals: Family of Koalas
31393 Forest Animals: Gray Wolf
71865 Zane's Ice Dragon Battle
21598 Underwater Adventure
60512 Mountain Bike Adventure Van
Thank you in advance for your help!

Enlighten did old sets eg pirates (though they did it when the sets were relatively new). Some Aliexpress listings have replicated old castle minifigs for a while, but didn't do a very good job. I've seen someone say that the companies generally see Lego not remaking them and conclude that there's a good reason why. Their MO is to just copy popular name brand thing, and the Chinese factory businessmen aren't in touch with the Lego fanbase.

you think there is a chance we'd get Mario Movie sets next year anyway? once the minifig-versions FINALLY hit? Lego is scrambling to make KPopDH sets and that's taking a whole year. I doubt it, as regular Mario sets would be close-enough, but... maybe?

those RIDES sets were ruined by the baby-faces on the drivers. those baby faces are not use-able for anything, at all. not even regular babies, because why would your baby have a freaking helmet? safety? you're a bad parent if you put your baby in a situation where it would need a helmet in the first place.
the fireman and construction worker should have those style helmets, not the other one. boooo... muh-new-molds lazyness
can you imagine if they did generic construction worker hat mini-micro-fig (or whatever they call them?) with a regular smiley face (not baby)? people would buy that set 8X and make a little construction yard set or something. it's crazy how the regular space guy (not-baby) has only ever been available in non-retail sets!!

Own a lot of them actually, including doing repair on multiple of their light bricks, one of the sigfigs of old for me was a weird color mix guy robot from there with blasters sticking out of his head, but apparently some of that connection stuff is illegal so it broke over time, also own quite a few orange hockey pads, for whatever thats worth (mainly the normal sets were my stuff it seems though so no big city or access to those giant wheels besides the one power miners set unfortunately for me), can’t talk much about fragility but they didn’t have brittle brown in em, only thing thats broken for me actually was one of the leg hinges on the copper guys, would like to see how magenta or one of the other odder colors would have looked on a proper mech like that nowadays desu
