Honestly his whole design in Rivals reads as "scummy" to me. Which, eh, I guess is fitting for some versions of the character. But, it kinda just feels "Trying too hard to be punk" to me tbdesu.
Not even movie Rocket comes off that way, he looks bathed at least. Has an emotive face that doesn't look like a permanent Rat Fink pastiche. Still wouldn't fuck him - a bit too photorealistic - but it's a step closer to what I like in his design, is what I'm saying.
Think my favorite is still the DnA Rocket - he's got a cute personality, he's just a genuinely nice guy with a couple wisecracks here and there. And his ass is comedically fat lol (not even saying that in a horny way, I just think it's funny).

It's a bit misleading. The design and in-game model generally shows him with his mask partially in shadows under the hood with bright glowing eyes. The ML seems to just interpret the colors a bit too literally compared to when they do faces with shadowed oversprays like 97 Magneto or Nightcrawler.

nteresting height comparison between the old Warlock wave one which I believe is the same size as the classic ML from the Juggernaut 2 pack, the new Astonishing Colossus and the Marvel Select. I use the MS in my main display and I feel like it's slightly too big but able to fit in to a Legends display. I always felt the older Legends were too short. I do think the new Astonishing one is finally about the right size. What do you guys think?

NTA but you do understand that fan channel and especially Crapazom aren't made to order. Crapazom may variably overprice these at the start but at some point they will join other Hasbro Marvel that you can buy new from them (and even them only) for anywhere from $9 to$16 or well below retail.

I did buy (then return) one deluxe box from the Bald Billionaire's site last month but every other Marvel Legends I've ordered from them has been below retail, except for one retro carded 375 I had no choice about since it was for a holiday present and I needed it specifically to arrive in time to get wrapped.

Unless someone is an impatient idiot, there's few times anyone NEEDS to pay retail much less scalper retail.

I think it'd be a little easier to answer if you showed them next to the MLs you want to contrast them against, but in a void I think your instincts are probably on the money.

I do remember a lot of people put their MS Colossus in with their ML and it generally looked too big to me.

This Gambit is my first MAFEX and definitely won't be my last. Love him. I know the colors and power effects aren't to everyone's taste, but XTAS was my introduction to the character, so the colors are ideal for me and I don't mind the power effects being orange for the same reason.

Not every wave needs to be all bangers. For me, this wave completes one team, lets me replace my kitbash with another, and add a figure from a comic run I happened to really enjoy. I can't complain about that. There's nothing wrong with a wave not having anything you're interested in. Like someone else said above, I'm often times relieved when there is a wave I can skip since it allows me to spend that money on other figures or other hobbies.
