There are rumblings online that Fondjoy might be done, so if you are interested in their figures, it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick any of their figures now before they shoot in price.

Currently, they have already discontinued a bunch of figures:

>Both undamaged versions of Gunn's Superman
>Both versions of BVS, and JL Tactical Suit Batman
>Both versions of Battinson
>Their entire first wave of DC figures
>>
>>11759466
I don't need any of those.
>>
>>11759466
Why would they suddenly shoot up in price? If anything, they’ll just go down even further in value.
>>
>>11759470
Scarcity, I've already seen the BvS Batman shoot up from 30-45 to 70.
>>
>>11759470
These aren't domestics that go down when someone loses the license since addicts sell their old A pose figures to buy new "better" A pose figures. High quality, rare merchandise that is desirable and will never be reissued goes up in price, not down.
>>
>>11759479
no one cares about chineseum you faggot
>>
>>11759535
Every Chinese designed figure I've bought has been better than domestic designed figures. In US corporations, action figures are treated as disposable cash grabs for the most part and there is no elegance, artistry or craft attributed to their design.

Most of Multiverse seems like a wild hype train until we get the figures. Idk if people expect something different or if it's fomo or just excitement over the character but whatever it may be it fizzles out quickly.
Idk if anything coming out this month has anyones attention but I'm hoping Lobo is decent enough. I think it'll be like the 3rd version done in the line so far, kinda crazy when you think about it.
>>

It's been about a month since I bought a Batman figure guys..I need a fix.. I'm getting red platinum withdrawal symptoms. I'm real sick here fellas
>>
>>11759466
Kek they are clearing the early first wave which is horrible and the failed shit from Gunn and Reeves. If they discontinue the afflecks its because they are launching a better one.

They’re intentionally an amalgamation of designs but minus the belt that’s definitely moras robin. I WISH the kids line was strictly based off of his art because it’d translate perfectly to toy form.

Mcfarlane just can’t hang that’s why they’re slowly getting out of figures and going head first into blind bags. Todd won’t have mortal kombat for much longer. He’ll be almost completely out of target except for his statues and maybe blind bags soon. POSSIBLY the same at Walmart. Things are being set up so GameStop is the only physical retailer to carry his figures if necessary. His sports shit will be in dicks tho.

The kids line are doing nothing for me and saying they're better than McFarlane's just sounds like cope when even Mattel's past work looked better than this. Give me something like what they're doing with He-Man right now for the collector's line and I'll be there because this is not it.

>>
>>11760496
No. We've seen what they look like in cons and they're just barely better than what Spin Masters has been putting out. Between McFarlane and still having some of Mattel's old stuff, these aren't doing anything for me. It's fine if you want kids toys because they sure as hell look the part, but I'll be waiting for the collector line instead which hopefully will be on par with their MOTU offerings.

The interior colorist for that issue got the visor wrong. Sometimes they also color it clear blue. But the first time she and Starman meet she's wearing a green visor, it was green during the Freedom Fighters run, everywhere else they've always been green. Every Phantom Lady after Sandra with a visor has had a green one.
Once again you've only managed to show everyone how much of a dumb retard you are.

>>
>>11760762
Starman Jack is in the states and will be here either tomorrow or Friday. And if it's a box of seeds I'll just buy another, because nothing is going to stop me, not even Todd trying to hold onto them out of spite.

He shipped from Wuhan, by the way. There are only so many toy factories near Wuhan, and most of them just want you to send specs of the figure and they respond with a quote, so if Todd doesn't make a Phantom Lady then I've found the factories that make his toys and all they want is money. Obviously you can get away with making super small runs of 10k or less... we'll see what the future holds.

Either, by the end of the week I'll have Starman Jack and his arch frenemy Shade painted. Almost free.

Did any of you faggots manage to get any figs in today's Mcfarlane preorder drop?
I know nobody here actually buys shit anymore, this gen is just a blog for the phantom lady schizo and for poorfags to bitch about not being able to pay $30 for figures but I just thought I should ask since nothing of value is being talked about here anyways.
>>
>>11760932
I have no interest in any of the figures mcfarlane put up today. I started collecting mcfarlanes before Marvel Legends and now the quality difference is palpable. It's obvious Hasbro is putting out the better value now. It's lucky for me that only a few mcfarlanes in this last era of DCMV where everything went to pot have really been interesting to me: Zatanna, Swolecrow and Steph, so their ridiculous price increases have not affected me much.

Like everyone else who has posted here today, I have less than zero interest in any of the shit Todd is desperately shilling as last gasp. Even the pre-orders I did make in the past four months I have either cancelled/returned (Authority Supes), cancelled (Flash JLA, PP Flash), although I did pick up that JLA Flash when Target had their last sale that included McFarts. My pre-orders of Zee came in and I plan to find some gullible idiots those once they aren't so readily available for under $40. I'm even about to return the uncanny valley '78 Supes to Target tomorrow because I found him on clearance at Walmart in the next county for $10 when I went to grab a set of Star Wars Blokee kit.
>>
>>11761160
The two main Knightfall releases are pretty definitive for what they are. There were a lot of definitive figures for specific comic versions never seen before and the movie suits too, or at the very least, they're the best ones you can get in the mass-market until you start going for more expensive options like Mezco, Mafex and now InArt. Genuinely don't understand why there's all this blatant revisionism going on, shit feels so artificial. You can't even complain about scarcity because those same figures kept getting re-stocked on various websites after anyone wanted them already got them.

As for me, I'm just waiting for Mezco's Year One Batman as my definitive Batman.
>>
>>11761220

>>
>>11761279
you did all this weird crying yet didn't acknowledge the significantly worse batman posted directly before your post
>>
>>11761279
You're not really making a compelling argument here when most people agree those were pretty definitive, nevermind the other examples I cited. Besides Mezco, I'm pretty happy with my black/gray Mafex Hush Batman and that's just comic figures. If you're still starved for a "definitive" Batman then you're clearly not looking hard enough. It can't be because you just want some standardized ML-style Batman right? Surely not.

>Hell, you still have to kitbash most of your Justice League.
Fucking kek, it's no wonder why you talk the way you do since you're one of those. Carry on.

>>11761278
The DCSH were the best ones. The DCUC figures fell into the same trap of lesser details and reused parts compared to those two phenomenal DCSH releases. But yeah they were pretty definitive for their time. Only retarded thing about them was the scarce distribution.

I just hope mattel gives their adult collector doll line the same high quality packaging that they do for the deluxe action figures in origins. It's no great big deal but its something I pay attention to and enjoy, DC deserves more than some blown up comic panel on the back and a trading card that is literally just a photo of the dang figurine you just bought.

>>11761774
You realize your words have effects on others' minds, don't you? You're actually convincing some people out there of obvious falsehoods like " new is always better, and winners always right".
You may think no one would fall for this, but humans are very suggestible. Stop saying things you don't mean. Portray insightful analysis of figures individually without generality by manufacturer or otherwise, and you will have a richer mental life. The human brain enjoys complexity and analysis. Don't dumb it down to "Matt good, Todd bad".

I want to warn everyone. The fact that he posted that phrase with that figure image indicates he is being sarcastic. Even though you supposedly find it harder to detect sarcasm on the internet, you should all be able to feel it due to the figure posted with it and the fact that figure is by now an ancient figure with articulation from decades ago. It is your clue.
>>
>>11761809
Comparing a medieval holy war to the hobby of hunting for plastic figurines might seem like a stretch, but if you look at the human psychology behind "the quest," they share some surprisingly similar DNA. "Deus Vult" (Latin for "God wills it") was the battle cry of the First Crusade, sparked by Pope Urban II’s sermon at the Council of Clermont in 1095. It served as more than just a slogan, it was a total justification for action. By framing the trek to Jerusalem as a divine necessity, it gave participants:
>Moral Absolution: Sins were forgiven in exchange for the journey.
>A Grand Narrative: It turned ordinary people into protagonists in a cosmic struggle.
>Urgency: When God "wills" something, you don't wait for a better budget or a clearer schedule—you go.
Similarly, the passing of licenses from company to company is a sign from God that collecting is more holy than attending church as we can visibly see His hand at work, deciding who will make the best DC action figures in His creation.
God has chosen Matt, and so have we. God will it.
>>
>>
>>11761726
literally nobody thinks thats the definitive joker.
>>
>>11761813
What a stunning essay. And just as in that historical case, it was actually just humans manipulating the cry, just as it is WB and DC manipulating the fans. Before WB and DC said Todd is good, Matt is bad when they took the DC figure license from Matt and passed it to Todd when Todd was able to pay WB more money combined with Spinmaster. Now they do the exact reverse when Matt decides to pay them more money. It is a human endeavor and ultimately flawed as a result.
>>
>>11761817
Todd offended God with his Jokerized spam, NFT scam, and artificial scarcity. Matt will make God's creation better for everyone, from poor children to snooty collectors like you. You keep trying to deny reality and God's will when it's obvious the sequel to the Bible is being written before your eyes.
>>
>>11761809

Not just talking about the amount of articulation, but the engineering.

Those style of hips were outdated even in the 90s.

Also, believe it or not, this guy has 24+PoA and he's a 2002 release. By 2006, 24PoA was the bare minimum, hence Mattel doing it.
You think Mattel ever did anything to please their customers? NOPE, hence nobody on /toy/ giving a shit about Mattel's DC figures for over a decade.

I forgot where i even stored mine, so i can't check it without taking out 50 boxes to find it. I bought two, one still in its packaging (helmeted variant), which would be easier to get, but i don't want to open it.

Still, just goes to show how early even McStatues had a great amount of articulation early very early in the 2000s.
The fact is, if you were doing 30+PoA by the mid-2000s... well, it's no wonder /toy/ didn't give a shit about Mattel's DC lines.
