The wiki theorizes that it’s supposed to be Wingstun
>>
>>11759533
I plan on getting the random repaint of the mold exactly 1.5 years from now when the prices actually match it's demand.
>>
Nothing on SS86 Cyclonus yet, right? I don’t care if it’s literally the same toy as the. Kingdom release though it’s probably going to be just straight up the same mold, but probably slightly more accurate to the movie coloring.
>>
>>11759465
He looks like he has those MP Soundwave hips, only without the crotch plate to hide it.
>>
>>11759541
I wish they had just done this with astrotrain and gave budget to shockwave or wheeljack, who are still using the old molds that were mediocre then, while the astrotrain mold from the same line was easily one of the most impressive and lasting. I think all it needed was some gaps filled and a wrist rotation, and to abolish the trailer.
>>
>>11759544
Astrotrain was the worst though and is only getting any praise now because the new one is uglier in bot mode.
>>
>>11759494
Big Convoy is exactly as mediocre as I thought he would be. The only thing improved here is that his joints are smoother, but that comes with the territory of the og being twenty years old.

The whole thing is too squat and bulky generally, with the result being that his kibble somehow ends up being even more restrictive than the original at blocking decent poses.

Of course I'm getting Jetfire.

I considered Scourge, then I found out its just a package refresh of the one I already have.

Soundwave....maybe on sale. If they make some of his tapes.
>>
>>11759546
He was one of the most solid figures in the line, with compromises only in the train mode. It has great articulation too outside of the wrists really.
>>
>Everyone else has less Energon because of me
>Can barely keep up with the other bots in vehicle mode, I'm such a slow piece of shit
>Can"t maintain my force force field long enough for it to be of any real use
>>
>>11759547
youre like the tfone hype guy right now
>>
>>11759551
do we even know if this version takes tapes?
also bs altmode ngl I feel like I could do better with the blokees version

I am getting two of these guys!!
>>
>>11759557

No, we don't. Its hard to tell if his chest even opens, and if it does theres like, no room in there at all.
>>
General sculpt work is fine, the fur texture is grossly rough. The proportions really are not good at all. Going roughly off the character sheets is good and all, but he does not EVER look this fat I the show.

The headsculpt somehow is also worse than the original, with it being oddly long and skinny...
>>
>>11759554

>>
>>11759554
>Is the Autobot defense strategist
>Has quite literally never done his job in the history of the franchise
>>
>>11759559
>Its hard to tell if his chest even opens
it really isn't, it's attacked to a very visible hinge and there's a seam line
get better eyes
>>
>>11759556
Can't help it, the original really is actually significantly better.
>>
>>11759562
not even close, dude
just off the top of my head, "Lengthways" easily beats it
>>
>>11759564

Okay, but it still looks like theres no room in there.
>>
>>11759554
I am so lonely. All the other Autobots think I'm a gas guzler. No one talks to me. No one wants to be my friend-- They think I am a coward. They send me from planet to planet, shielding people in their name. And as I get better at it, their disdain for me grows more and more. I am a victim of my own success. Trailbreaker. I don't even get a real name, only a purpose. I am capable of so much more and no one sees it. Some days I feel so alone I could cry, but I don't. I never do. Because what would be the point? Not a single person in the entire universe would care. Take it to the Allspark.
>>
>>11759566
good contender, however
>>
>>11759552
Shuttle mode was compromised too. Look I know this general loves New Bad Old Good but Astrotrain was a shit tier back then and people even then preferred to just hold onto their Titans Return figures.
>>
>>11759572
Siege astrotrain was multitudes better than the titans return one. You can't even call the third mode a train it was closer to a stick with guns on it. Not to mention it had less articulation and more robot form compromises, the only saving grace is that the shuttle mode is more cohesive.
>>
>>11759577
>the only saving grace is that the shuttle mode is more cohesive.
It wasn't even a shuttle, just a generic spaceship.
>>
>>11759533
Is he a Titan?
why he looks so...weird
like if he's either a tiny chibi character
or a GIANT character that looks like a big rock...

he reminds me of oompa-loompa character types like picrelated
ugh what the fuck (yeah i know it's written "armada"...whatever)
>>
>>11759580
He's a Commander.
>>
>>11759580
he combines with armada prime to form his legs so it would be commander probably
>>
>>11759547
I still wish they gave him some sort of American name with Prime in it.
>>
>>11759582
>he combines with armada prime
that specific toy too? or the old one?
i guess it will be cool to see the final form
>>
>>11759577
>>11759579
The TR mold worked better as Sentinel Prime.
>>
With the leaks I find it funny that Breakekaway (Aerialbot repaint?), Skyfall (aerialbot repaint?), Guzzle (Brawl repaint) and Alpha Bravo (Vortex repaint) are all coming out at the same time.
All limbs that Nexus Prime needs. Yet we don’t know anything about a repainted frame.
>>
>>11759584
something like this. They'll also probably release overload (the back cannons) with the skybloom shield. It will probably be the legacy armada optimus prime seeing as they are keeping that mold around for stuff like nemisis prime.
>>
>>11759584
New one probably. Although the new one is compatible with the old Overload, so who knows.

Did a quick edit over Jet Optimus to show what Nemesis and Spacewarp would look like together for that one anon
>>
>>11759589
I dig it. Kinda reminds me of G2 Ramjet.
>>
>>11759582
>combines with armada prime
Oh shit armada prime is this guy
i wanted him for so long because he looks so much fun
and if he will be combining to become even bigger/cooler/more fun....holy crap i have to buy him now!!!
>>
>>11759595

You should, he's a great toy.
>>
>>11759595
Don’t get too excited, he essentially replaces Optimus's trailer as his legs like here >>11759589, though there is a third member called Overload who attaches to Optimus's back like here >>11759587
>>
>>11759533
I am kinda glad he looks somewhat bad in robot mode because now I don't have to get two because I can't decide if I want to keep him as pants or robot
>>
>>11759533
Looks like to me that the thruster sleeves over Prime's blaster and that the shield splits in two pieces to fill out Prime's back in combined mode.
>>11759600
Personally, I think he looks great. He always looked like a lardass in the cartoon, most of the promotional art, and most importantly the original toy. This is just how he looks in my mind's eye.
>>
>>11759533

>>

>>
>>11759652
Yeah, the original was mostly, like, the façade of legs
>>
>>11759686
>>11759687
>Anons once again either retarded or trolling
Come on man

The new one is missing
>Gradient among the lower front end (Atmospheric Reentry detail)
>Entire front is molded white with only the tip painted black
>No red or black lining and details on the mid section (Bay area)
>Wings missing black detail
>Wing tips missing Red panel detail
>Back Fins missing Black Details
I get "New good" mentality since most are retarded and mindlessly eat the new remakes but they basically turned the entire back into a box with overdesigned shit. They ruined the profile and shape of the original rocket
Now the whole back is a box with Thruster Nozzles slapped on
The side is a bit cleaner but still has a gappy bit where the thighs are exposed
>>
>>11759696
if everything looks good then nothing looks good.
what makes us like things is that, unlike things that are different, they have the right look. That's the basis of robots. This shape was chosen, not this shape, and we are pleased. The engineering part of the brain is like 'aw yeah, that nacelle' even if we don't know why.

The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal bodeboop. A sing lap should be completed every time you hear this sound. ding Remember to run in a straight line and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark. Get ready!… Start.

and couldn't decide which to go with? So, they did an inbetween? Utterly bizarre.
>>
>>11759791
that's weirdly how it works now. they fix one thing, and ruin something else in the process.
Quickstrike's scorpion head moves more out of the way than it used to in robot mode, but now it sits too high in beast mode, showing the big obvious robot pelvis, whose thighs are not even attached low enough. And yeah he used to have fucking clownshoes, but now his scorpion mode has what is just obviously robot shins for forearms, and way too small pincers.
and worst of all, these things are way too minor for anyone to bother making a kit for them. I really, really wish we got more 3p CHUG scale shit.
>>
>>11759798
>inbetween
my guess would be 'figured out their mistake partway along, too late to change part of it'
>>
>>11759685
I remember when Black Roritchi came out with that head that could have only happened because they looked at the wiki, I suggested the people with the toys or with reference images should update the wikis to be accurate. This was met with a lot of "THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE CHANGED, HASBRO SHOULD KNOW BETTER", and that was the end of it.

Well, I do agree, they should know better, but this could also be something that doesn't happen if better pictures were just uploaded too. Oh well! I guess nobody will ever be happy!
>>
I miss core class, hope it comes back some day but figure they'll be near $20 if they do.
>>
>>11759802
I mean
you're not wrong at all, but I also think that reference images you look up online should be reliably correct. it's nuts that you'd need to look them up in some official Hasbro archive or something.
When I google a particular animal so I'm representing it right in a drawing, I never worry it's the wrong one. and it's very rare that I get something totally fictional, like a plant that was really made from mushroom caps stuck together with toothpicks

the massive, MASSIVE amount of mistransformed, misleading, and obscured images of transformers is a failure with many fingerprints on it. And realistically, Hasbro's own archive almost certainly has mistransformed shots, since that's how EVERY OTHER FIGURE is shown to us in previews
>>
>>11759809
>but I also think that reference images you look up online should be reliably correct.
That's what Hasbro thinks too
>>
>>11759808
Maybe we can confuse the shrinkflators by moving every size down a tad, so the new 'deluxes' are bigger than the old cores, since old cores were too small.. but now that's the new starter size. then yknow, leaders become what we expect from voyagers, and they start doing commanders regularly.
and also they lower their prices hahaha yeah. Come on guys get it together.
>>
>>11759809
Hasbro throws out their archives because whenever a new CEO comes in he doesn't want anything to do with the old stuff before him. Only the designers of the toys would keep references around and only if they had the space, because Hasbro does not just have a big wall with every toy they've ever made on it because whimsy is dead and everything has to look like a coffee house now

i'm sure it cheaped out and moved to a cheaper server. the amount of money it brings in is surely fixed at best, more likely in decline. and hosting costs are astronomical these days, I guess because everyone's constantly running all their servers to make pretend money or robot parrots. which are pretty sweet in theory, and sometimes in practice, but... it used to be that having to blow out the entire local electrical grid was saved for huge, planet-altering supermachines.

but I do want his robot mode redone from scratch, it looks garbo. he looks like a bad drawing, and the elephant head-halves look stupid just hanging off.
they need to redo him as like, a movie-Devastator-esque knucklewalker with the elephant head moving to his ass to become a trunk-tail (the ears cover the eyes so it's not weird IT'S NOT WEIRD) and he shouldn't just have a big tab behind his head for the tusks to hang from.

what's your dream never-ever-happening recolor?
>>
>>11759975
It's hard to pick a 'dream' one because I'm just a beast guy, so there's no impossibly obscure recolor characters I can think of. Everything is plausible, even if some are unlikely (and many would need a normal version before they could have a recolor)
and saying "I think t-rex megatron would look awesome in black" is not so much a dream as the kinda shit that goes through my head when I should be asleep.

It was always very hit and miss when it came to competing with the original movie lines, much less the screen itself. The HFTD voyager Optimus was always better than the SS options, for example. At best you got something like SS Starscream, but it's the DotM deluxe just upscaled.

They could release the HTFD Voyager Optimus--even as a leader class--and it would immediately be the best shit in Studio Series.

This toy got a lot of flack, but I quite like this design for Slipstream.
It's like an amalgam of the old Takara Windblade remold and the various designs loosely based on the Prime Starscream redeco.

Well that's easy, because that's what she always was and because people wanted an official female seeker for decades. (though we also have Nova Storm, often forgotten about)
Like I said, I grew to like Legacy Slipstream for what she is but I was beating the drum for an ER recolor louder than anyone. (and for Sunstorm, but that's another story)

I think what people wanted was a deluxe female seeker mold. Slipstream was never going to be an ER Starscream repaint that base mold is way too boxy to pass as anything female

For fuck's sake anon, that's what I mean and in no way contradicts what I said. This is why I always talk about the autism of this general. I mean in broad strokes, obviously. You've seen Kingdom Tracks to Road Rage right? Are you really gonna say she's not "red Tracks" at the end of the day? And yes, I would have also liked her as pictured without any retooling because the seeker design is inherently kind of androgynous to begin with.
I love how there are people out there who will clamor for a new Strika and then say your pic related looks too much like a dude, all in the same breath.

What she never was was a Windblade recolor until that Generations toy of her came out.
>>
>>11760163
You're being incredibly disingenuous.
Road Rage is a red Tracks because she's based on toy that was red Tracks. She's never not been red Tracks, in any toy or piece of media.
Same for Nova Storm (not toy, but character model), who wasn't even female until IDW retconned it after the Siege toy came out.
Slipstream was never just a recolor, her proportions are clearly different, you couldn't just take an old Animated Starscream toy, paint it purple and teal and be done.
>>
>>11760120
>no shuttle front in sight
Uh oh. Partsforming again?
>>
>>11760163
>>11760177
At the end of the day, people just want the toys to resemble what the character is like in their heads.
Nobody cares that Nova Storm, Road Rage and Strika are blocky fembots because they've always been blocky fembots.
Slipstream is a wild card because people have different ideas of her. To some, she's another seeker recolor, she doesn't need to look different nor should she. To others, she's a seeker but more feminine, she needs to look different even at the expense of the seeker aesthetic.

I still own the original and what I always wanted is a Sideways with heads that looked as cool as the anime designs. The new one manages to make those look even worse, the new minicons fucking suck. Less articulated, partsform and can't even be bothered to hide the head mode eyes. They changed the black one transformation so now the horns in head mode are completely wrong. Also the bike mode looks way worse with obvious hinges on the sides compared to the original. Sideways has terrible looking feet and fat lower arms that are completely innacurate and they also botched the faction change gimmick as it doesn't have a blank position for bike or minicon-less modes.
Yes, they added joints. That's good. But everything else is trash. Fuck that thing, that's not the Sideways I've been waiting for all this time.

As far as articulation goes sure, but as far as looks? Not even close. New one looks like his ankles broke.

The original toy was pretty wonky and lacked articulation, but after 20 years what we got is a sidegrade at best, and that is pathetic.

>>

I have several original figures, but I don't have rose-tinted glasses. They are not perfect and there is plenty to improve.
Several of the figures lack wrist articulation and have sideways gorilla elbows, obv no ankles, and despite some stellar deluxes, most still had nothing more than a neck swivel even if they didn't have gimmicky electronics preventing a balljoint.
Most of the Autobots had inaccurate weapons, Optimus gets neckfat if you put his facemask down, the size-accurate Bulkhead has a bunch of tacked on shit, Lugnut and Sentinel Prime are forever a midgets, there really isn't a perfect TFA Bumblebee, Ratchet and Blitzwing are just... Ass...
And that's without mentioning all the characters who never got figures to start with.

Ntm with current prices, I'll never buy the figures I don't own already from childhood (like Wreck-Gar, Samurai Prowl, Blurr, the jet twins, or Wing Optimus).

I've decided to do Breakaway first - he has fewer modes, and fewer things to address versus Basara Prime.
I'll start with the packaging - it's been a long, long time since I've seen a Transformers toy in a box like this. They posed him in the middle of kicking his ball, which is fun, and he's got two other pieces in there - part of his ball form, and the stand for you to perch him on.
>>
>>11760360
Yea but he good
>>
>>11760406
Out of the box, with all of his stuff. He's got some nice, metallic blue paint on him. The silver he's made with is swirly, which may be something to look out for later, but it feels sturdy enough for now.
>>
>>11760409
He's got a decent range of motion in his legs, as well as a faux ab crunch that's part of his transformation - this lets him bring his knees pretty high up, which is exactly what you want for a soccer-bot. I'm a little disappointed with his elbows, though - you only get about 90° bending them forward. His wrists are balljoints, so they can move around pretty well, and his head has enough clearance to look up and down a bit.
His toes have pegs on them so you can stick his ball on one and make it look like he's kicking or balancing it; his feet also have peg holes under them, so he can attack to the blue stand in robot mode. He comes with no weapons (he's an athlete, not a soldier), but I suppose there's nothing stopping him from spiking his ball into an enemy Decepticon's face or kicking them with his cleats in a pinch.
>>
>>11760410
Ball form. They tried to make his transformation a bit more interesting than what you'd expect - his entire chest piece with his arms has to spin around, and his feet fold up and tuck in kinda weirdly. Sadly, he's a partsformer - that piece that was separate in his box is needed to cover the hole where his feet go in, and it just clips onto his back when in robot mode. Still, there's something strangely pleasing about having him as a perfect little sphere once fully transformed.
Oh, his soccer ball actually opens up like a clamshell and pegs into the bottom of his base, so all of his pieces get to stay together.
>>
Managed to find Nexus Prime at Target today, also had a Sideways so might go back tomorrow hoping it's there. What's the deal with Target keeping the old price points for transformers? It's nice but everywhere else has kept with the price increase

Bonus pics. Partsforming and elbows aside, he's pretty fun - especially if you have some pose stands lying around - but I suppose your level of enjoyment will vary depending on how much you like the thought of owning a soccer-bot. Same. I miss simple Transformers that were chunky and did cool shit. That's why I love Cyberworld Scorponok, he scratches that itch. I need more like him yesterday.

Ooof, that's one I don't see coming back too soon. Modern safety standards and allat.

if the torso just transformed a bit more, instead of being a beachball on stilts, I'd enjoy this just as an orbformer.

I miss lights, but springs are a pain.
and if we ARE going to get missile weapons, they should be like G2 megatron's cannon. I'm sorry, but for pretty obvious reasons, no missile launcher in the world has the missile POKING OUT OF THE TUBE.
There's missiles on a jet attached to underslung pylons, sure. But if you could hit those, you could hit the jet, and it'd be dead anyway

won't pretend to know how these toys are designed. Compromises have to be made with it having 3 modes of transformation and with toy safety standard.

I can understand the low crotch; it probably has something to do with the Jet Convoy, but my beef is really with the black block of the chest.

The coloring and the how big it is, it does look like Jetfire is baring his man tits with the chest winglets opened and the gold nozzles on the side just merge with the front block. Like he is wearing a mid-section corset, those without the top part covering the breast and for jetfire's case it is now a man who is wearing it.
Had that block colored in white with black painted top would mitigate the look (I think)- but it would change the look of the shuttle somewhat.

Still, the low crotch would still be a problem. But at least we would only have 1 major visual flaw instead of 2.
>>
Man, after finding Nexus today and looking at the combiner head in person and all I can think is he has a heck of a fat head compared to the previous 3 combiners. Speaking of heads, I'm still kind of bummed that Menasors head can only go left and right. Devastator you can cheat with how it's made while Superion gets the best of the bunch for movement
>>
>>11760457
I will always think the AOTP Nexus will be obsolete as soon as we get Shattered Glass Heatwave, on top of hoping the limbs have pieces of the Cyber Caliber for Nexus to wield.
>>
Since Nexus is getting limbs next year, I still hope they don't do a g2 Silverbolt for the frame and call it a day but this is hasbro we are talking about. My hope would be for a commander Heatwave that would work as the lower torso and chest piece for Nexus to slot into

There was, but the biggest problem with Transformers, since the late 90s, is that boomers only want to complete their G1 character line-up and they are the largest group within the fandom.
You'll never have a truly fun original character until these dickwads are happy with their latest geewun Optimus.

This was only a thing until like 10 years ago. I don't even think it's the old Geewun boomers anymore I think half of them are too laden with arthritis to pick up toys anymore. It's the G1 larper zoomers and virtue signalling retards that picked up the series from IDW

Guys, has any of you thought well on what weapons suit the best with Star Optimus Prime's unique blue blast effect? I'm pretty sure someone has to use it with the different Requiem Blasters in existence (the boxy laser pointer version included with Megatronus, and the upcoming Mini-Con Superweapon included with Armada Jetfire, but we have the former so far, so someone should try showing off that blast effect with a picture since I can't buy Transformers for being forkin' expensive).
>>
The toy is sturdy enough proving you don't have a rough handling child. It has not been made into the vehicle because we can't do it! My grandson, my sons and I have tried to transform it, we haven't been successful, the instructions are not very clear because everything is the same colour. My grandson has since left it on the side

I've mentioned it before but we're getting a crop of younger collectors, early 20 somethings who've got their first stable income, and they go all in on post-Siege generations and studio series to a near uncanny degree
Like sure, those are the current running toylines but it's like they have no backlog or individual taste, so there's a swath of collections now that are just copy pastes of each other

Classics/Universe was positioned in a very different context with a somewhat different mission statement. The entire industry was vastly different in 2006, and Transformers reflected that even ignoring the movies being on the horizon (which is what Classics was an intended overture for). So no, I don't think CHUG was originally a mistake, but we're so far removed from that that the comparison is hardly warranted. Nothing lasts forever.

I mentioned this in the last thread too but these same people started coming in around prime wars and then an even bigger wave of them came in around COVID. The years between 1986 and whatever time they started getting into the series just don't exist for them so they have no real standards beyond what everyone else says/does.
It's why people praise so many terribly designed molds, they have no frame of reference

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to get rid of the painted mouth on Legacy TM2 Megs? I imagine rubbing it will also mess up the silver paint, so should I just paint over it? I think the sculpt under it is actually decent, but they ruined it with that stupid squiggle.
>>
>>11760262
>they also look properly female
Because the mold was originally a female one.

The only figure to ever actually pull off the genderswap was Megaempress and even that could've done with rounding off the thighs. Since squared thighs have always read as distinctly male bot sculpt cue to me.
>>
>>11760725
Someone here did it way back when he first released (and found that he actually has his normal TMNT grimace under there like his original toy), but I don't remember what they used for that. Personally, I just went with the upgrade kit - more faceplates to choose from (which look even closer to the show) plus some much-needed arm and tail extensions and a chest plate that actually stays in place in dragon mode were worth it for me.

I mean, they didn't release the Star Saber as a separate thing - it's a package deal. After the failure of Battle Masters and Micro Masters, it's unlikely that they'll ever sell little dudes like that on their own ever again; if they make them, they'll always be packed in with a bigger character.

>>11760827
I am curious what the cost of the Mini-Con toolings are compared to other releases. Like, could they do Armada Perceptor at a Deluxe price point or would it have to be a Voyager? Maybe the higher ups don’t think three smaller robots that combine into a weapon would sell as well as one bigger figure that becomes a vehicle

the batteries can last AGES if you just use it every so often to keep it going. I have a little spooky halloween fiberoptic thingamajigger that still lights up after like 18 years. and my leader starscream was still working til I took the batteries out for like 15 years, batteries that should have expired like 7 years prior. all because he, once in a while, makes a noise on his own. I think that's on purpose. tiny discharges preserve batteries?

I just realized that my planned figures basically works out perfectly for me. I’m planning on getting Armada Nemesis which comes with the Star Saber and Spacewarp, who will come with the Transwarp Blaster, meaning I’ll have an equal number of good and evil Mini-Cons. Handsome bad doctor who she falls in love with after treating a few patients together during a battle and realizing his commitment to medicine runs deeper than his loyalty to the Decepticon cause.

I feel like a lot of the later G1 guys haven’t gotten toys because it’s hard to convince both Hasbro and Takara executives to make a toy of a character that has no media appearances in either region. Skyquake at least has his Prime counterpart, Thunder Clash has nothing
>>
>>11761373

Considering the whole scene is about Flatline making everyone "dress up" to fit into what he assumes is the G2 universe, it may just be Thunderblast covered in paint like everyone else in the scene; she was shown just a few moments before with her normal colors.

Thunderclash also came out in Japan, though it was one of those translated stickers on a foreign box style releases. Also 'Euro exclusive' is a bit reductive, they came out in non-Euro territories like Australia and Canada as well. Basically the only major market that didn't get them was the US.

Kingdom Rodimus. Siege Ultra Magnus. Fall of Cybertron in general. Dark of the Moon in general; it had some great stuff (the deluxe Seeker mold) but it also felt a little flat and lacking compared to ROTF and HFTD.

>Kingdom Rodimus. Siege Ultra Magnus

What a jerk that guy is.
>>

Rodimus just embodies everything I find grating and boring about Transformers over the last ten or so years. It's not terrible, but it's hamstrung by fidelity to the original. The trailer is an even bigger waste of space than usual. It is an improvement on the original toy, but we all know that story.

Ultra Magnus is just compromised. The inner bot is kind of shit, which robs the fun. I'm not someone that puts City Commander on a pedestal or anything but it puts into perspective how lackluster Hasbro's attempt is for being a ground-up reimagining. On its own I think it's fine and still preferable to the SS86 mold for having preserved the gimmick.

~4%?
>>
>>11761746
I think the main reason why Animated and Prime designs aren’t being translated well is because the designers seem to want to stick to a unified design approach for every figure, which arguably works great for G1 through Cybertron because those projects had close enough art design behind them to where they can be translated somewhat easily, while later series tended to have a very different style behind them, resulting in a weird disconnect during translation

>>11761753
I take it you don't live in Burgerland. Gas alone would eat up almost half of the average person's paycheck.
>>
>>11761764
i have always been told gas is 2-3 times more expensive everywhere outside of the US

but yes, gas eats up like a fifth, and then the remainder is taken up by the insane payments, interest, insurance costs (which don't help you at all if you get into an accident, they're just mandatory expenses), and more than anything, maintenance. A car, even a brand new car, is like an elderly dog. You will be blowing several hundred dollars on it every other month as something breaks, and a couple grand a few times a year. And that's minimum, if you ALSO pay to have it regularly checked and maintained.
See people used to be able to actually do that shit themselves. But now even if we could, who has the time? And that's before break-ins and catalytic converter thef- I mean 'reparations' sorry.

>>11761891
They used the old Prime Smokescreen mold for Prowl and Streetwise.
>>
G2 Megatron is something people have wanted for years. It's actually pretty surprising that he's a voyager, not a leader. Anyway, here are some potential reuses for him
>G2 Hero Megatron (same design, purple deco)
>Archforce (Europe release of the above)
>Reverse Convoy (JP figure, G2 Megatron in grey and blue, has heads based on Megatron and Optimus
>Megastorm (BWII character, slight change of colors + Predacon logo)
>>
>>11761891
>>11761894
I think it could be retooled into a decent Prime Bumblebee as well
>>
>>11761827
>>11761829
Suddenly, Evo-Fusion returned.
>>
Your G2 Megatron sir
>>
>>11761899
It's a voyager
>>
>>11761899
*Yamero's in American*
>>
>>11761896
He’s a Voyager because his transformation is somewhat simplistic and so he can scale with both G2 Optimus and the other BWII toys when they inevitably make him Megastorm. They could also do RID Bludgeon and the canceled second Hero Megatron deco
>>
>>11761902
So was Siege Megs.
>>
>>11761905
Wonder if they would get around to Reverse Convoy.
>>
>>11761911
Maybe, though it’d probably be a bit later since it’s the only deco that would need retooling
>>
>>11761890
We only we had a pastebin
https://pastebin.com/92WE512y

This hadn't been touched since November, so it's probably missing some stuff
>>
I skipped Legacy Tidal Wave, but I'll be all in for this deco. I have Megatron and Galvatron and will get Megazarak, so I wonder who will look best with the stupid included armor bits?
>>
>>11761905
>RID Bludgeon
What the fuck is this
I love it
>>
They'll throw in a Minicon with Tidal Wave just because they can, mark my words.

>>11761917
Shame that he probably won't be transparent
>>
>>11761920
There is no chance of the mincon being included, also 2027 price for a titan of Tidal Wave's size will probably be $250

I meant to include it with this thread, but I couldn’t find the link for it
>>11761917
Part of me wishes they did the toy deco first since that’s the colors the Star Seeker's Tidal Wave is, but I also understand doing this one first instead
>>
>>11761919
RID was super popular in the States to the point that Hasbro had to extend the line several years and reuse old molds. It’s also how we originally got Cryotek, Air Attack Primal, and Megabolt Megatron
>>
>>11761917
Wasn't there an upgrade kit a while back that replaces the bits with actual leader scaled Wave?
>>
>>11761917
Yeah the animation colours are my least favourite version, so I skipped it too
Much more open to energon or toy colours

>>11761929
RiD Bruticus is a real freak not enough people talk about
I should track one down someday
>>
>yfw Takara New Legends 2 pack of Megastorm and Gigastorm
>>
>>11761827
Looks like theyre not gonna be doing the size difference animated decepticons had, bummer!
>>
>>11761839
Maybe he's another autobot constructicon redeco like scoop is looking to be? I'd be surprised if we just got scoop and not a bunch of other guys to make a full combiner.
>>
>>11761863
Scorponok is one of the most important characters in SL/Energon
>>
>>11761939
My cope is that MOST of the Animated cast had relatively straightforward and simpler transformations, with discernible kibble, so maybe the budget will go towards their size instead of engineering
>>
>Beast Wars remakes are the only time they focus on altmodes mostly
>Beast Machines remakes don't exist
>RiD remakes are all over the place
>Armada remakes have QC issues and the most blatant removal of gimmicks
>Energon are TBD
>Cybertron has a lot of Wal-Mart exclusives
>Animated managed to get most the principal Autobots, mixed bag in terms of aesthetics carrying over
>Prime seems weirdly screwed consistently
>RiD15 are all retools of someone else
>Cyberverse is full of chicks

Wonder if this will hold up forward.
>>
>>11761935
At that point I'd just customize a G2 Megatron instead
>>
>>11761940
Adding onto this, I could see it being RiD01 Grimlock out of 86 Scavenger or Wedge out of Bonecrusher since it's a deluxe.
>>
>>11761827
>>11761829
>Energon Scorponok
Where's the Mega Zarack Anon?
I bet he's foaming thru his boxers at this thought
>>
>>11761966
Megazarak and Energon Scorponok have nothing to do with one another + Megazarak already leaked for later this year.
>>
>>11761940
Lets go down that hole
Scrapper - Scoop
Mixmaster - Quickmix
Scavenger - ?
Bonecrusher - ?
Hook and Long Haul 2pk - Erector and Landfill

>literally bought the T30 scoop a couple months ago
>now he's back but will likely be a fucking scrapper retool
once again my retarded purchasing habits have given me the edge
>>
>>11761980
Normally I'd skip new Scoop.
But if they do all the other Constructicon retools (including other guys I DO want), then it'll bug me that I'm missing out on a feature of the toys because I'd didn't get Scoop too.
>>
>>11761972
>Bonecrusher - ?
Needs some retooling, but not impossible
>>
I remember new heads for CW Devastator based on Landfill and a few other guys was floated as an option, but never done. Could that work?
>>
>>11761986
Seems like a bad choice though since he already is a green and purple like the original.
>>
>>11761831
Shut up Boco.
>>
>>11761896

>>
>>11761829

>Tra Gen Dlx Nightbird
>Tra Gen MGR RST Voy Slash
FEMBOTS FEMBOTS FEMBOTS AS VOYAGERS NO LESS

>Tra Gen MGR RST Voy Sky Fire
>Tra Gen MGR RST LDR Snarl
I get the feeling that Sky Fire is cybertron Jetfire. I'm also guessing that Snarl is cybertron Snarl. They did have a walmart cybertron capsule in the works.
>>
I hate that all this stuff isn't coming until 2027. there hasn't been much I've wanted this year
>>
>>11762006
wonder if they'll actually look like fembots

The only people who care about G1 Fort Max and Scorponok are the Marvel fans. Nobody likes The Rebirth, or (JPG1) The Headmasters.

>>
>>11761947
That's my cope too, he better have as much mass as grimlock. But then there's the design to worry about too...if they over g1-ify him, he's just gonna look like some tall dude
>>
>>11762013
Well regardless, they've really never done G1 Fort Max and Scorponok at Leader scale before still; plus they'd be easy to repaint into their SG Masterforce dopplegangers at also a show-accurate scale. Though, Blackzarak was pretty big... If they go that route, they might have to be Commanders, I don't like that thought. Oh well, we'll see.
>>
from JTPrime on TFW
>Voy Skyfire is RID
>Slash is BW Dinobot mold
>Scoop is a Scrapper repaint
>1 SS Titan, 1 SS Commander, 1 AOEV Commander
>>
>>11762025
man, that's fairly disappointing.
Is Skyfire gonna be a retool or new mold, at least?
>>
>>11762025
>Slash is BW Dinobot mold
fucking OOF.
>>
>>11762029
hell yeah.

I mean, I realize that's not AT ALL what fans of Slash want, and I would buy the hell out of a proper G1 Slash, but... I mean, I have her toy, so I'm good. But what I don't have is an organic raptor OC using a mold I quite like (though the feet needed another pass)

I didn't see this coming, nor did I think we'd see it before we saw a new movie slash, or a JP OC using that mold, but... for me, this makes-a me happy.

Damn I got excited for beast machines for a second there before I remembered skyfire isn't Stormjet. Well at lest that terrible tow-line can finally get his rival. OH WAIT, they can retool him into the cyberjets and we can finally get a new motherfucking HOOLIGAN!
>>
>>11761841
Fuck, I want more G2 Cybertronian guys, especially Rook and a proper Mindset. Also, G2 Aerial Troopers out of the Cyclonus/Ferak mold.
>>
>>11761865
Yeah, this. Although I'm not really hyped about making the Autobot Double Targetmasters Constructicon retools / repaints. I guess Scoop from Scrapper and Landfill from Long Haul could work, but can't really see a decent Quickmix from Mixmaster.
>>
>>11761920
That's probably a good thing unless you want another disintegrating Tidal Wave.
>>
>>11760120
I can't be the only one who thinks this looks mid. They nailed the proportions with Primes base legs and these look wack
