haven't all anniversary years been the same? There's never more than a few new plush + small figures which is just what this year is going to have. There's def been more food and other non toy related marketing stuff though. Hersheys, Goldfish, Pop Tarts, Happy Meals, Target collab items

I guess depending on who you ask the Lego stuff was a big deal even though it wasn't labeled 30th like the Tomy stuff. The 30th moncolle sets would've been cool if we actually got the new starters as the previous ones are just rereleases. Since the new game isn't coming out this year we're also not really getting new trailers and reveals so it feels kinda dead from that front.
>>
>>
>>11787403
Anniversaries suck, because it means silver recolors are some other useless thing. Last anniversary was during the Detective Pikachu movie days, and they just stuck to one wave. We also got those silver vinyl selects anyway, but that didnt get in the way
>>
>>11788179
Jazzwares has done those dumb static selects almost every year. Not just anniversary years. It started with the silver ones for the 25th and went to see through figs, metallic, pearly and now glittery for the 30th

I bought some Chinese Bootlego sets for like $2 of the kind that MSRP at Target for $20 and, once they get 'retired,' scalpers sell for mini-fortunes and one of them has fallen apart even though I have moved it (carefully) twice in the past 4-5 months. It's sitting in a bag about 90% complete right now till I decide whether to take it apart or make space for it.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11789211
Apparently the Chinese government got mad at some vendor who did some promotional pop up with Pokemon at some Japanese shrine, they Red Army got all bent out of shape and either Blokees needs to give up the Pokemon license or they are just laying low with anything Pokemon at the moment, as far as new products, announcements, etc.
It was in the previous Blokees thread.

I was wondering around one of the suburbs near my metro area that has a large southeast asian population that settled in california - besides some good restaurants, there's an entire mall with different places that I was hoping to get a snorlax model kit, ideally the blokees but I would have settled for something else that was cheap, cute and a good sized
everything was so fucking overpriced (except for popmarts shitty figurines) so that the best value was a bandai and fuck if I was going to buy that for $150+

Lol didn't this just come out? Didn't realize these figures you basically had to pounce on them immediately now.Shit is already out of stock at all targets around me, and online. Scizor still seems to be everywhere though.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11795200
>The Gallade and Armarouge
To be fair those figures are actually shit, it has little to do with the characters themselves. Gallade is pile of loose, flimsy joints and Armarouge has super limited articulation for what should be a really easy design to give articulation to (see the Blokees).
>>
>>
>>11795159
Yea it didn't seem to be as well recieved as the other Charizards so I dragged my balls. I remember getting the black one at a local Target in December and I think he was out for months by that point. I didn't expect this one to sell out. I have a feeling he'll come back in stock, but with all the shitty QC I'd rather pick it out it in person to see what I'm buying.
i reckon Target ordered a lot less stock of this guy, might line up with their plans of reducing toys, video games, exercise stuff that they announced a couple months back.
>>
>>11795433
all the scalpers buying all the exclusive Target items from that drop bought up the Charizards that same week. They left most stores with just Scizors left. They restocked online again like a week after and that stock sold out again too.
>>
>>11795433
>i reckon Target ordered a lot less stock of this guy
No they didn't. All the stores had 8-12 of each Charizard and Scizor. Then they restocked online after that initial sell out too. It was just the scalpers who got to them.
>>
>>
>>11795438
>>11795440
Lol when did scalpers start targeting these I'm not talking about people selling them above MSRP long after they've been out, but literally buying to flip immedietly.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11794254
I believe it was rumored/on a website listing way back when like the line was first starting.
>>11795083
You can probably still find some in store. Stock may not be listed right online.
>>11795200
Most stores have a ton of Scizor on the shelves. It looks good once you take it out but a lot of these figures from this wave have factory defects. Scizor in particular has very thin arms and the way its packaged makes it easy for them to break.

Cute figure, superb detail. But once again all the fun ends almost instantly after unboxing it. 4 points of articulation and it can barely stand. Jazwares figures are props for actual action figures
>>
>>
>>
>>11800387
It's a fully evolved pokemon, it feels dumb that he can barely pose or stand up at all
Every brand has it's own cheap line for kids with decent enough joints + accesories: Marvel, star wars, ninja turtles, minecraft all of them. It's just Jazwares' Pokemon offering the same old quality + useless joints + zero accesories or anything at all. If anything Blokees stood out because they released Pokemon toys with the play value that modern toys are expected to have and they even did that with the ones that cost $8 not just for the $30 charizard
>>
>>
File: 30-minutes-fantasy-iron-wrath-samurai-bandai-spirits-.jpg (145.6 KB)
>>11800420
They also did this dog in their 30M line.
Zacian & Zamazenta might not be far off.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11800382
like the other person said. It's an $8 toy. What do you expect? Joints all over and super articulation on every single figure that's a unique sculpt? You're never gonna get that at the price range now days.
>>
>>11800390
>but Blokees did...
that's different since they are model kits, you need to assemble yourself. They are from a small company with less overhead as jazzwares. And they are not officially distributed for international markets so their royalties the company has to give to tpci is gonna be wayyyyy less than others
>>
File: Screenshot_20260528_105345_Amazon Shopping.jpg (981.2 KB)
>>11800661
>>11800663
As I said, go look another $8-10 brand, they have functional limbs and accesories. Blokees is not the high standard you think it is. Annihilape could have easily had hand swivels and ball jointed legs. Then add a simple purple effect for the rage fist
>>
>>11800678
its hard to compare things equally. Pokemon has notoriously high royalties compared to most other companies so toy companies have to fork over so much more than they have to for other brands. TMNT is notoriously one of the cheapest brands to make products for. And they let any and every company who wants to make products, make products. The entire TMNT brand was sold a few years ago for a measly 60 million. The entire brand. Jazzwares probably pays more than half that amount every single year in royalties to the Pokemon owners.
Its also known that fewer people are into articulated figures for Pokemon. Most just want plush and other stuff. Even the super articulated line failed when it was at all stores and now is only a target exclusive and many figures still don't sell much. they can def be putting a few more joints into the 3" figs but even with a few more, the posing would still be super limited so at that point they probably feel it isn't even worth it.

I am new to the Jazzwares items and theres some Pokemon I am surprised to learn they have never made figure for while other companies have made lots. Gardevoir, Goodra, Ninetails, Ho-Oh, Bellybolt and Gholdengo have nothing from Jazzwares. Are there any hints some of these will be made soon?

Nothing hinted in terms of those specific ones you asked about. Their selection is pretty wide reaching and nothing is really impossible so any of them could be made at some point. The pokemon that have had part of their evolution line already made as a figure are a little more likely as they like to finish evo lines if the whole line is reasonably popular.
>>
>>
>>11805080
>Pikachu with random archery range and a giant head of himself
>Squirtle with...a burger? And a car?
>Mew + air hovering pokeball vehicle ??
What the fuck is even this Couldn't they add clasic elements from the ip? Or just made them cheaper without those irrelevant things
Why not focus on them having more brick built effects for their attacks
>>
>>11805213
That's a valid point about completing evolutionary lines. It makes it seem like a 4" or 6" Gardevoir or Goodra is more possible then. They are doing a vinyl figure for some evolutions too so I wouldn't mind if that is where a Ninetails got made since it could look nice in a sitting pose.

>Anime Expo and SDCC
I forgot there was a summer event too! I was thinking it was only the toy faire in the spring to get news out of. SDCC is coming soon in July. I looked at past Anime expo and they never showed Pokemon items there so I think SDCC is the better place for news
>Jazwares Pokemon wiki
This place was helpful to me to check for which release was the most recent for various figures. It saved me lots of money hunting only newer packs or waiting to get a reprint rather than paying more for older packs for specific figures. There wasn't many place for news or rumors on there tho

Here's May checklist update. This is what came out this past month:
-6" Select Scizor and Mega Charizard Y at Targets. There should still be Scizors hanging around at most but Char is gone.
-4.5" W23 (Pinsir, Aerodactyl, Greninja, Toxtricity) came and went at Targets too.
-Clip n Go Belt W21 (one Fenekin set, one Pika set) is in stock at some UK Amazon sellers
-4" Vinyl International W14 (Raichu, Flareon) is out at various European stores
-4" Vinyl International W15 (Umbreon) is showing up from some US Mercari sellers so it's out there somewhere.
-Clip n Go W21 (Buizel, Minccino, Swablu) is in stock at some UK Amazon sellers and is hitting some Books A Million stores but beware the $17 price there.
-30th Anniversary multi pack (Mewtwo, Mew, Pika, Jiggly, Pichu) and the 3" Glitter W1 is out at Australia Big W stores

So I'm not a brick guy. Before any Lego sets were revealed I was open to getting something depending on what they did. So far there's nothing that clicks with me so won't be getting any for now. I never got any Mega besides one of the small pokeball sets near the end when they got clearanced. At one point I was about to get the Mega motion Pikachu that was being discounted. Thought it was pretty nice but ended up not. The Lego equivalent of the big Pikachu didn't interest me at all.

What's a good cheap anime girl figure you could use as a trainer? Preferably something that looks like an Ace or athletic one, but nothing that's 60 bucks. Just looking for inexpensive with decent enough articulation.
>>
>>11808252
>good cheap anime girl figure
>decent enough articulation
>but nothing that's 60 bucks
You can't have it all pal. If $60 is too expensive for you, you're in the wrong hobby. Maybe some Bandai Anime Heroes which are about $25 but the only girls are super recognizable ones like Sakura and Nami
>>
>>11808253
Fair, and 60 isn't too much. I just don't want something for random photos or display that's the price of something I'd normally want far more, you know? So I guess decent articulation isn't the right way to say it. I mean good enough that they can throw a pokeball, maybe sit, that sorta thing.
>>
>>
>>11808252
Figma has tons of generic school girls, even some original ones in the "figma styles" line. That's basically what everyboy uses here as trainers
>Idolmaster
>yuru camp
>Love live
>Little armory
>Persona
>K-On
>Haruhi suzumiya
But yeah you are gonna have to spent at least $50-$60 for them unless you found someone selling them locally
>>
>>11808252
Well just throwing out ideas but around 60 you could get one of the Dandandan Momo figuarts. She looks generic enough in either the pink top or the newer casual one. If you want to lean into the actual character could give her a psychic team.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I guess since my favorite types are ghost/dark/poison a goth type of girl would be fitting.

It's hard to use anime girls as trainers because they're already based on actual characters, even though there's nothing illegal about repurposing them. Fortnite had some nice generic characters though

>>
>>11808775
Blokees Miku figures are at least $40 but they're very tall. 30Minute Sisters kits are $30-40 but all have a mecha or robotic theme to them which don't seem like trainers. At that point after shipping the figure, just spend a few more bucks on a Figma that has the much more similar school girl or trainer look that you're going for.
The Hasbro Fortnite figs aren't a bad suggestion but their hands all suck so you'd need to find them new hands to hold a poke ball or be in a gesturing pose rather than a grip pose.
>>
File: 1757753-bc141.jpg (103.0 KB)
>>11809138
I'll add to this, there's 30MP which covers anime IPs and you could maybe look at Figure-Rise too.
Model kits tend to lean closer to 1/10 than 1/12 though.
Sousai Shojo Teien, Arcanadea, Plamatea, Plamax, Frame Arms, Puni Mofu..
I don't mind putting pokemon next to non-OCs though, as long as they sorta fit. Fanart's been doing it for ages, so why not?
