I'd rather it be a sculpted painted tampograph printed on the neck/torso. I hate loose parts
>>
>>11792639
In my opinion, it should’ve even be approximated. Most people don’t even know it’s a thing and it’s not visible in most shots.

It probably adds too much to the cost to have that little metal chain anodized in black.

I never noticed before, but yeah, that looks awful.

I think they do this on purpose to make you buy another one. My Vader I had as a kid didn't have any of these issues.

Yeah like why tf did SHF ROTJ Darth have silver stripes on his shoulders? And don’t get me started on how non of the ANH Darths have dry brushed gunmetal on the mask or chest just look at the 501st website or set photos before you make the damn toy!

Real chain looks better.

Yes and all of the live action costumes excluding episode 3 & including rouge one & Obi Wan Kenobi have the faux chain & the episode 3 chain is still supposed to be black yet, for some FUCKING reason when Mafex did do an episode 3 Vader he got the black plastic chain which tbf looks good

isnt it just a QC issue? Too expensive to make the actual chain etc?
>>
>>11792639
a small, thin piece of black pastic at the scale would be kinda fragile, no? They could just paint the chain matte black and solve the problem

Every Figures and Mafex cape I've seen looks terrible when they try to do that chain look. It ends up making the top of the cap bunch up way too much, and there's no anchor for the wire to hold onto when you try to position the cape.

This is two of my Figuarts with the stock capes, and with a custom cape (OT-Customs) that goes under the neck and just has one long wire going from end to end, which cleans up the whole neck area and is also way more maneuverable (probably cheaper to make too since it has no chain).

The recent TEM STUDIO Darth Vader Death Star Supervisor figure did paint their chain black, and the cape was at least better than the above pictured Figuarts stock cape, but IMO still has the problems mentioned above.

It’s mostly tucked away under his helmet in 9/10 shots until ROTJ where it was held onto the chest plate with a little straight hook
