There have been waves in the past where I've gotten the whole wave because I wanted all the figures, the BaF was bonus. Then There are times where I've waited and gotten figures on sale later on down the line, like I ended up completing the Juggernaut BaF a couple of years after it initially came out because I wanted the figures I didn't buy initially and they were on sale, didn't even think about the fact I had all the parts until a while later.
>>
>>
>>
>>11792687
eBay, Craig’s list, Facebook Marketplace, and if you’re lucky a local comic shop might have individual pieces of the BAF you want if not the whole figure. I’ve only completed one BAF and it was to sell on EBay. I’m trying to mix and match Sasquatch and Ursa Major parts to make a custom Gigantopithecus right now.

I figure for most people the distinctive faces are the entire point, and I can imagine they're not in a rush to make entire bodies for a design where it's hard to tell how much actual demand there is and how much it's just a meme.
They saw what happened with the Morbius movie.

>>11792687
In theory some of the intent is that people will trade/buy/sell the parts with each other, which is probably what happens naturally if you know other collectors. If not, comic shops can facilitate this.
Otherwise yeah, it can kind of be horseshit, and depending on particular waves/character desirability, BAF pieces on the aftermarket either get expensive, or you can get them for a song.
Caliban for example was a character I lucked out on, he was in a wave where I wanted most of the figures, and even afterwards nobody wanted his parts enough to where I completed him easy, and even got extra hands for my Budget Shadow King.

You should be scared. They’ll be no reasonably priced 6 inch scale marvel figures by then end of the year. We’re looking at $30+ for standard legends. The market will move to these and the price for “adult collectibles” will climb while the quality stays the same. Shit is unironically bleak for domestic marvel figures. The smartest move a marvel fan could make rn is switching to Blokees.

I only just started watching born again more recently and it is peak. Im mad their isnt an MCU muse yet cuz i foolishly missed out on the two pack and i really hope hasbro restocks the muse/bullseye two pack and also makes an MCU version of muse to boot. I have a sneaking feeling hasbro is waiting to release show accurate figures of muse and bullseye within a wave made up of figures from born again.
>>
>>11795607
The two-pack is actually a pretty decent two-pack that can fit into a season 1 BA:MCU set, but the Bullseye costume is very different in S2.
Not going to talk about Muse due to spoilers but I'm guessing they're waiting for something else...
>>
>>
>>11795602
He's been a great Bullseye since his first appearance in the last season of the Netflix show and in my opinion, has only grown into the role even more. I'm really excited to see what he's up to next season, they've already confirmed he's getting a new costume so they might be waiting for that to make a figure of him.
Overall, I gotta say I too enjoyed Born Again. Season 1 was kinda rough in spots, but knowing the behind the scenes lore how the bad episodes were what was left of the original concept before the Netflix show runners were brought in to fix the show. It's very obvious that the first two and last two episodes were done by the old crew and that the middle stuff was just what they were trying to pull together from what was already shot. Which was fine, they did what they could. S2 was great though imo. I was a little bored in the first few episodes, but by episode four it was over for me and I was hooked. The last episode was particularly good. Really excited to see them do the storyline they're doing. It's one of my favorite DD eras in the comics, and I wouldn't even mind them pulling from the other, more recent, storyline that kind of retreads the same plotlines. I'm trying to be vague on purpose to avoid spoilers for the guy who hasn't finished S2 yet.

Meh, at this point, there are only a handful of figures, a few of which are coming out in the coming months, that I am missing from my collection that I would feel sad if they were never made. If Marvel Legends were to stop making figures after their currently announced stuff released, I honestly wouldn't be completely heartbroken. How many times am I going to upgrade these things anyway? Still, there will always be a market for the collectible style figure, maybe they'll disappear from Walmart and be online exclusive, who knows? At some point, ya just gotta be happy with what ya got.

let’s see those hasbro elbows and knees buddy. Or how about the neck articulation, or the accesories.
why are you defending a company that uses the first concept art they see and refuses to update new molds. Hell they even added things like toe articulation & now neck articulation but refuse to use it for figures. It’s ok to like other brands or admit another company made a better figure

>looks miles ahead of the hasbro figure
>>
>>11796881
if u ask me my preference i prefer mafex. Even if it’s years late. I’ll wait for it. The shf doesn’t bring enough accesories imo.
Hasbro has been using the same articulation while raising prices. and imo it’s not worth it unless it’s a character you want that no other brand is making.
And now a Blockees is making decent figures that are cheaper than hasbro and use better articulation and give more accessories. I see that as a win
I dont look at price anon, I own many legends figures. But my basis for a figure is the value i get from it. and unless your a biased fan boy the blockees one looks like a more accurate & better articulated figure. You are not even defending the hasbro one, your just trying to be a smart ass saying ‘Is BlOcKeEs AlL yOu CaN aFfOrD?’
>>
>>
>>11796893
>if u ask me my preference i prefer mafex
This is fair and what I do too for certain characters. Stuff like the X-Men, I'm happy enough with my MLs, same for the Avengers. But Spidey stuff, Daredevil, the new Frank? Fuck yeah. Someone mentioned that the new Frank is scheduled for next month, I won't hold my breath that it isn't delayed another 3 months, but I'll be happy if he does come out on time.
>Hasbro has been using the same articulation while raising prices
No they haven't. You see more and more figures with separate necks, ball shoulders, and other such improvements. Yeah, a slight retool of a figure from three years ago doesn't have all that, shocking
>and imo it’s not worth it unless it’s a character you want that no other brand is making.
Good for you. Not everyone agrees.
>And now a Blockees is making decent figures that are cheaper than hasbro and use better articulation and give more accessories. I see that as a win
They kinda look like shit though. You guys complain about SHFs looking like robots, this thing literally is one. Look at those ankles. Blokees does great for mechs, robots, and even some armored characters, but their spandex super hero stuff just looks bad imo. Those proportions, lmao.
>You are not even defending the hasbro one, your just trying to be a smart ass saying ‘Is BlOcKeEs AlL yOu CaN aFfOrD?’
No, I think Blokees, unless it's a robot or something similar, looks terrible especially for normal human looking characters and that the hype surrounding them feels completely artifical. These things cost $20 on their official website, meaning every other place that stocks them, other than their official partner Walmart, is going to charge at least $24.99 for it. That's generally what I see Target charging for similar sized ones anyway. At that price, I'd rather get the slightly inaccurate ML, or like you said, just wait for the Mafex if I like the movie enough. As of now, I'm not getting any of them.
>>
>>11796905
that’s the problem, i can’t remember the last figure besides DDBA figures that have the neck joints. Like why doesn’t The BND spidey have it? Why did you make a spider man figure with toe joints and refuse to keep using it.
What is the difference between a legend that used to cost 19 dollars in 2019 & a legend now that is either 27 or 32 bucks. because maybe 3 or 5 % of all legends figures get these new advancements in articulation. not even the base price of imports have gone up in prices like legends have.
>>
>>11796926
>Like why doesn’t The BND spidey have it?
Because it's just a slight retool of a three year old figure. The new suit is so similar to the final swing suit that of course all these companies are reusing parts. Bandai is doing it too, I bet Mafex will too.
>Why did you make a spider man figure with toe joints and refuse to keep using it.
They use it pretty regularly, but for comic figs.
>What is the difference between a legend that used to cost 19 dollars in 2019 & a legend now that is either 27 or 32 bucks
The entire state of the global economy. Do you live under a rock? Literally everything is vastly more expensive than it was in 2019. What kind of question is this?
>not even the base price of imports have gone up in prices like legends have.
This is wildly untrue. I used to be able to get Mafex for $65 before shipping, now it's $80 plus whatever insane shipping price I have to pay. Do you just live in La La land anon?

Why is it so hard for them to move past their shitty practices? There is no way it's more difficult or costly to add ball joints to the shoulders and waist, or a ball hinge to the ankle instead of calf cuts.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11797182
It's partially what >>11797194 said partially what >>11797195 said. They would like to keep uniformity in the line, especially on molds that can be reused regularly like the new DD can. Gotta be able to keep various parts compatible. The new DD isn't entirely new, the arms, aside from the shoulders, are the Vulcan arms with the same cut in the forearm. Luckily, it works for DD.
>>11797179
Unrealistic expectations in today's world. Sorry but when store brand, 80/20 ground beef costs $8 a pound when it was half that not even two years ago, you have to expect luxury goods like toys to also be expensive too.
>>
>>
>>11797194
>>11797199
>uniformity in the line
Yet they completely changed how they do head sculpts and introduced face printing. Any comic figure pre-2022 looks godawful next to modern stuff. Not to mention they eliminated the pins as well. And they've already used slightly updated engineering on some of the MCU and Maximum figures, so there's no excuse here.
>>
>>11797201
I don't overpay for it either, but that's what it costs at the store you little retard.
>>11797204
You can't help having different artists over the course of the years do different heads. Sorry, but the same guy isn't necessarily going to be sculpting heads for the same toyline for 2 decades. As for face printing, that isn't nearly as drastic of a difference as changing engineering to the point of part incompatibility.
>And they've already used slightly updated engineering on some of the MCU and Maximum figures, so there's no excuse here.
Actually, it's probably budgetary. As stated, the entire figure isn't new, the torso isn't, the shoulders are, but the legs and lower arms are definitely reuse.
>>
>>11797209
Changing the head sculpts i.e. the first thing you see, is arguably far more impactful of a change to the line than a couple different joint setups. And I really don't think any part of that Daredevil is reuse, the wrinkles and proportions are all unique.
>>
>>11797217
Upon closer inspection, you seem to be right, I thought more of it was reused from Punisher but they are different. I was wrong. There seems to be minimal reuse with maybe just the arms. Still, it's most definitely a budget thing as to why they didn't implement a separate neck piece.
>>
>>
>>11797199
> you have to expect luxury goods like toys to also be expensive too
i disagree with >>11797179 especially with the Mafex pricing but luxury? really? we're talking hasbro here. if they cant even afford to give new molds toe joints and lower abdomen articulation like on the rivals moon knight and rivals spidey in 2026, why would you even consider it luxury?

Anon, what that other anon said about Daredevil figures is that they look shit for the price. Your argument to excuse the shitness is that they are luxury. On a $30 figure. Luxury. You are retarded, anon. If you wanna see the forest, ask why a card Marvel Legends figure doesnt come with a pair of fists or toe joints in 2026. thats what the forest looks like, anon
>>
>>11797269
You're still missing the point. Guy said they should be cheaper, which they were once upon a time, I used to get Mafexs for $50 before shipping back in the day. And my response is that expecting them to be that cheap in today's world is unrealistic when literally everything else is significantly more expensive than it was even two or three years ago. It doesn't matter if it's considered luxury, nonessential, or essential. Will it make you feel better and not tie your tightie whities in a knot if I call it a nonessential good? Fine. It's a nonessential good. I really don't care what it's classified as because it doesn't fucking matter in relation to my original fucking point.

If $4-$8 is enough to detract you from buying something, you didn't really want it anyway. You're saving money by not buying these figures you don't actually want. You don't buy something just for the sake of it being on sale do you? I mean, it's one thing if it's a character you want, but don't wanna pay full price for, but to just buy something for the sake of it being cheap? Why?
>>

He says a lot of teams are getting completed now. He claims he has sources that Marvel had a talking with Hasbro about team building, which led to Hasbro having to complete some teams due to collector anger over the lack of team completion. He pulls from his work on DCU Classics. He says the first 6 waves were according to him "strongly encouraged" by WB. The companies had to earn the licensor trust. And I suppose his point is here that Hasbro was losing licensor trust due to this behavior of leaving fans hanging on finishing teams for too long.
So whether you decide if he's accurate or not will kind of depend on whether you see a lot of team completions recently and in the future.
>>

I mean, I guess you could say we've been completing a lot of teams recently, but for most of them it's taken years to build. One of the shorter ones to complete was the Astonishing X-Men lineup, that only took what, 3 years to complete? It sounds like he's just making shit up again because why the fuck would he actually know any of this?
>>
>>11797812
I was hoping someone else was covering this because SC is a proven liar. Thanks for taking one for the team but I hate him getting any views. Sounds like an absolute pile of lies, it's been well established for years now from team member comments that Marvel historically dictates/approves waves, so Hasbro couldn't be doing such a thing to any degree to piss off Marvel.
God I hate SC so fucking much. No wonder Mattel fired his shifty ass.

I actually found an entire case of hulks from walmart. They didnt have the ones i wanted so i didnt buy it. Heres the barcode which i assume also comes up for the regular case assortment with all figures. Also thx for telling me the target reset date is on the 31st.

I dunno how many others here like the kids lines but i actually like toys that feel like toys and arent just some shitty overpriced oversized fragile piece of shit. I will say at least marvel legends arent fragile like most other collector grade toylines

Also a target on the way home had all the BND actionverse figures out except for scorpion. I asked the wagie if they had anymore in the back and she said they do but they cant sell any before june 1st. I managed to take pics of the barcodes for stealth suit spidey and regular iron boy before they took the figures down. And i got a pic of the target assortment tag for the brand new day figures too. Also, Fuck street dates

Honestly the floor for kid's lines has been moving up over the years, and sometimes they just have the right nice appearance and/or articulation to feel worth picking up. Reminds me of how those Imaginex figures got some play with adult collectors since they're cute.
>>
>>
>>11798106
This is true. Even a few years ago kids lines were mostly just that, kids line. Now it feels like the line between collector and kid line is blurring every day. Collectors lines are cutting corners whereas kids lines are stepping up their game pretty hard. I won't lie, the new Mattel DC figures that are going to be coming out next month look pretty good and if not for a lack of articulation points and paint, could probably pass off as collector figures.

I've enjoyed this Hulk so much that I went back and bought the Venom ....and now I have all of the ActionVerse figures so far lmao. Compared to that I've never even bought a full wave of MLs or 3.75s, so maybe AV was the balance of simplicity/complexity and price that I never knew I wanted.

Yet it sold out. Proof that consumers will pay anything for a character they _MUST_ mentally have. To them it's the same as food. Humans just aren't good at prioritizing.
People will even try to justify it as well.

It's almost like you guys are deliberately ignorant of things to justify getting mad at them later on. They went over that he has neck articulation in the livestream where he was revealed. We even discussed it in the thread here. Why are we acting like this is some kind of surprise?
>>
>>
>>
>>11798888
I never said it was fine. Just that we went over this already. Sorry that you're wilfully ignorant and pre-ordered a shitty product without realizing.
>>11798889
Once again, that's on you bud. It has neck articulation for what it's worth. But yeah, an overall shitty release, but who cares about Rivals shit anyway?

You lil bros really need to stop trying to argue with people just for the sake of it.

Do you lil guys just make shit up in your heads to justify the angry posts you make? I literally said it wasn't fine, and that it's a shitty release. Just pointing out that it's already been discussed here, announced on a live stream, and demonstrated in promo pictures for the figure, so I don't even know why we're having this discussion. You're free to talk about it, I just thought it was something everyone already knew because you know, we have brains and eyes here.
>>
>>11798901
Do you think everyone checks this thread daily? If it was a few threads ago there's plenty of chances that people didn't see the figures in the stream and didn't see any posts about the stream here. This is why these toy companies making it so their preorders sell out in a few hours are dumb, they're leaving a lot of money on the table because not everyone watches action figure drops daily and organizes their lives around them.

That is true, target and gamestop especially are street date nazis. Both of those stores are even known to put their own street dates that the company didnt even put on themselves for no good reason either.

The FF are $60 which is higher than normal. I guess Hasbro might be justifying it because of the the additional accessories for Reed and the fact that Ben is a big character, even though he has sold for regular prices in the past. Also Spidey's on the team so there could be a Spidey tax. Either way, it's annoying that they're $60 but I got them anyway because I enjoyed that storyline.
>>
>>
>>11799917
I mean does it really matter? Either you think something is worth it or you don't. They do already kind of do already have that in place, it just seems like they bumped up two pack pricing again recently with the Spider-Man/Luna Snow 2 pack also being $60.
>>
>>
>>11799924
I'd like to know what the price is going to be before I schedule a break or lunch so I can be there for a preorder. With regular figures I know what they are going to cost. With deluxes it varies wildly. I've seen deluxes at $34.99 and I've seen them all the way to $46.99 for recent hulks. The Hulk 2099 was a possible buy for me but then I saw the price tag which is ludicrous so I passed.
>>
>>11799939
I mean we're talking a difference of like $3 here. If that's enough to put you off then you didn't want it anyway.
Like I said though it looks like they just increased the 2 pack price recently since it seems new 2 packs are $60.

I watched it. And he spends 8 minutes saying "My contacts say Marvel wants Hasbro to complete teams." while appearing nervous. He talks about characters but can't be bothered to look up their names. He of course reminds everyone of what he did at Mattel for DC. It looks like a video from 2012 that he shot on a blackberry phone and his logo is fucking awful.
>>
>>
>>11799986
Once again, you either think a price is worth it or you don't. And if you do need time to think on it, you can always pre-order it from somewhere like Pulse, Amazon, EE, or BBTS, or any of the places that let you cancel pre-orders and don't charge you until shipping. That's what I do if I'm on the fence about something.
In the case of Hulk 2099, I get it. It's easy to feel that figure wasn't worth the price. But once again, at the same time, the pricing of the rest of the Hulk themed stuff has also been consistent with what Hulk 2099, so it isn't THAT much of a surprise.
