Wherever you're buying from, make sure you're buying from States. Never buy anything that old from China or outside of the country. That's an increased likelihood that it's fake. When you do find a listing in the US, ask for photos. Tons of photos. Always look at pics and compare to old reviews, doesn't hurt to ask the seller where they got theirs even.

Also pay close attention to paint colors and packaging. Maybe look up the obvious fake listings for comparison too. It looks like the color of the vial and packaging will be what you want to look for:

Neca Hunk is literally a statue with hinges on some joints, plus it's incredibly old, plastic is probably brittle or melting at it's end life by now.
There are better 1/12 Hunk figures out there, but you're late into the game. Just hope they'll reissue some of them.
