It's based on the latest shit Sonic game, Sonic Superstars. It's a missed opportunity to have the Sonic Mania/Chaotix design instead, but I guess it's more reckognizable this way.

Know what game I think they'd do a good job with?
Six inch Overwatch. It could be their Marvel Legends/DC Multiverse. And Overwatch IS on an upswing right now.

>They should make a palette swap of Bowser after he's already had two figures; one version being the standard WoN and the other the movie version
Sorry, but no. Roy and Morton need their turn considering they've stretched the Koopalings out for 10 years.
Opinions aside, I don't see him as likely anyway. The 6" WoN Bowser, the 7" movie Bowser, that one huge Big Bad Bowser, the minifigs, movie Bowser Jr, Wonder Bowser Jr, another Wonder Bowser Jr that's slightly bigger and can open and close his mouth, and ANOTHER Bowser figure coming up for the Galaxy movie line. Unless the Galaxy movie is getting a wave 3, Dry Bowser faces the challenge of needing a new mold and having to compete with the leftover Koopalings (especially with the Wonder DLC that just released) and the oversaturation of Bowser and Jr.

this would be perfect but i'm not sure if Jakks is capable to draw good human faces.
One of the best parts of previous line was nearly 1x1 faces.
Their Junkrat figures was basically Perfect - i got two - to keep one in plastic protection and to play with.

I got mine at Burlingtons. And these two >>11801321 at ROSS. Still plenty of Monkey Balls at my local walmarts though. I was lucky and found a lone Kangaroo at walmart. I'd love more figs from them especially finishing Golden Axe. NiGHTS figures would be a dream. Also some Shining Force or Harrier guy.

They STILL haven't finished the Koopa Kids! They have two left to do! How, how, how can they just stop now for the last five years? We're SO CLOSE and they stopped! And nobody is asking them about it.

Keep in mind that it took 10 years to get five of them. Roy and Morton are not only the biggest ones height-wise but in girth too (bigger than Wario even) so getting them in that tiny blister packaging could pose a challenge. Either they're going to get shrunk down a bit or we'll get them in special packaging.

Literally only one figure here is new.
I'm not asking for Sally or Scratch and Grounder, but there have to be more exciting canon characters they can use. Just fold the IDW stuff into the main line, woild replacing Ball Hog here with Surge or something really kill them?

Jakks Pacific would rather sell a giant hugely unnecessary and boring playset, that will inevitably end up on discount like every single other play set that they have ever made, than just simply make figures people want to buy and distribute them well.
>>11802507
Jakks will do absolutely ANYTHING to avoid making a new 2.5” character and stick to their comfort zone of making things nobody will buy. Unless of course it’s a DC variant (it’s 85% likely at this point that Starfire Blaze will be the only 2.5” Blaze figure ever)
Jakks also relishes and adores releasing waves that include 4/5 re-releases of old figures, but will avoid at ALL COSTS ever giving a chance to re-buy extremely scarce characters they already made, like Charmy Bee. The thought of re-releasing something people will actually buy scares the fuck out of them. We need more Classic Sonic with chili dog.
I cannot wait for Tangle to never be repacked into a wave that will actually see store shelves. It’s a really good thing they made so many Monkey Ball figures that the entire US population would have to buy 2 each in order to sell them all. That prevented us from the terrifying scenario of having a robust and well-distributed line of Sega collectibles. It really makes them look smart that the reason their line failed was because nobody could even get the fucking things.
Absolute boneheaded company. It will never stop pissing me off that the DC line is the only time they’ve ever had any sense about how to sell these things. I shouldn’t have to check 16 different discount chains because these fucking moron dumbasses couldn’t figure out how to distribute their toys before all the stores said “fuck it” and dumped the stock elsewhere. Why can’t all the Sonics and Aiais be taken to Burlington?

I'm completely stupefied as to why the Mario riding Yoshi figure exists and who thought that it would be a good idea. If you were an early adaptor, Mario and Yoshi were $20 each and included accessories so how many parents are going to rush out to get the two again but seemingly fused together? Hell, how many diehard tendies are going to double dip? What's the point in the main appeal being Mario riding on Yoshi when you could just sit Mario on top of him, hold them together, and use your imagination? Why make these two yet again when there's so many other (cheaper) options in getting them elsewhere? I dare say that making it a statue would at least make them look unique enough from their standalone figures to justify the purchase.
I'm not even one of those people who are angry at not getting Wart or Birdo or Fox or some shit, it just seems like a waste.
>>
>>
>>11808259
If you look closely you can see the big piece of plastic similar to the one that comes with the clown car. My guess is that you shove it up Yoshi's ass, wind it up, and release him to watch him flee from you in terror.

I just bought this because i wanted trip, how is jakks doing as a company? Im used to only buying toys from japanese figures but i really appreciate all the characters they’ve made, after this i’ll get an amy and then try to get the modern characters in their 4 inch version
Im hoping they do honey, bark and bean for the fighters anniversary

Trip the sungazer, she is the secret character of sonic superstars(2023) amy probably isn’t in the set because they are planning to release a small set with sonic amy and trip in her dragon form
Apparently some people in my country already found that set on random stores so i’ve seen pics of it but i haven’t been lucky enough to see one in my local stores
>>
>>11808944
Thats what she looks like. >>11808866 I found the 4" Trip figure at burlingtons a while ago and passed since I didn't know who it was and it looked like an idiot dookie brown frog robot. I'd gladly get a figure of an unmasked one.

Jazwares actually.

I would want any Overwatch figures to be six inch, I was just posting that as an example that Jakks can do human characters well.
>>
>>11807550
Between this and all of Jakks decisions with distribution, it really does seem like they’re going for the gold medal in the “not giving customers anything they’d actually buy” Olympics. Maybe because I’m a collector I don’t understand, but I think the one thing MOST people wanted from this Galaxy line was Fox…and we’re just not getting that. They’ll make sure to make every single character in the Sonic x DC comic but draw the line at “extremely popular character in a major motion picture”.
Not like we’d ever be able to find Fox in stores anyway. Jakks is terrified of giving people options on the peg.
I feel bad for all the kids out there who only have Sonic in their collection and have never seen Shadow or Tails in any store because their parents only take them to Target like once a month.
>>11808680
How much do we wanna bet this is the ONLY way we’ll be able to easily buy Trip?

It sucks we never even got toys of the Archie characters back then. They would have been perfect for a toyline. I remember so much stupid shit getting toys like Mighty Ducks, Bucky Ohare, that bad kangaroo tmnt ripoff movie where the kid fell into a sewer and died, etc. Unless they did and I'm dumb. I remember I had a sonic and tails slot car that I loved a lot and sonic and knuckles McDonald toys but that was it.

>>11809150
Just checked the WoN subreddit and if leaks are true, we're getting a 2.5" diorama of DK, Diddy, and Rambi and a 4" Funky.
Not bothering with the latter but if true, I'm happy it exists and it's success should naturally lead to better varieties of characters and hopefully reissues of the rarer ones.

Bowser looks awesome but if he's 5" as opposed to the previous 7", no amount of added articulation makes this not a downgrade. It also seems like he's standing more upright but I prefer the more hunched over look from the first movie's figure so I'm good.
>>
>>
>>11811160
I just find the 7" to scale really nicely with my other 4" figures and the 6" DK but if you're not all that obsessed with scaling, he looks great just from that image and I shouldn't downplay the added articulation as much as I did.
In a way, it's great that a lot of the different variations of the characters have pros and cons as it makes researching/collecting more fun. And at this point, perhaps Dry Bowser will be a reality sooner rather than later if Bowser is apparently such a popular character to justify more figures of him.
