Hasbro doesn't do parts. That only applies to Haslabs. If anything is missing they'll either send an "equivalent item" by the price for free, or ask for a return for either a random replacement, the actual figure or your money.
And anything means anything. I once got a cyberverse figure when I complained about an issue with my centurion pack.

Anyone have a video on how to correctly transform the 86 Seeker mold? I remember someone brought up that the connection of the torso to the crotch needed to be done a specific way to avoid damaging the pinned area that holds the waist to the backpack.

New Stranger Things guy arrived today. Never saw the hsow so I don't get the references but the main figure is nice. The rubber chicken gun looks more like a turkey baster, and the 8-Track Laserbeak is a weak cassette animal. Still, the van guy a good figure. Only weak spots he has is no waist, and his shoulders are big ol' ball joints instead of something more substantial.

Not really feeling those new MTMTE releases:
-Prowl doesn't get a new head, at least retool it.
-The hard plastic replacing the clear on some insecticons is nice, but they used that ugly white plastic l, why? Why not silver or Grey?
-Starscream will be impossible to get so I won't even bother to get him, they'll probably do a coronation version in a year or too anyway.
So yeah, passing on all of them.

This thing just looks fucking awful. I get that these guys didn't have alt modes in the original comic, so they weren't designed with a transformation in mind, but the alt mode they're giving him is clearly intended to be a take on pic related, which was used for them in the Generations Selects comic; the Megatronus mold does not lend itself well to those organic curves, those spines are incredibly stunted, and that turret is...yeah. I have no idea why they didn't go with the Liege Maximo mold for him - Liege is already about 90% there.

This is the truth and everyone knows it, but the question is where he should have fit, if he's not a voyager where does he go and who's being demoted to Voyager? The real answer is that either Onslaught or Jetfire should have been pushed back a year so they could do their stupid frame bullshit with Nexus.

Most likely Soundwave since he's the easiest to do (just add a few more joints to the original toy). Watch them add ML Laserbeak and / or Ravage to bump up the price more. Stascream is also likely (just for the repaint value alone) but runs into the problem of how to make a poseable toy out of the G1 Seeker design without all the partsforming.

I mean, even without any retooling, that's already much closer to what they were attempting to emulate. Swap out the chest for the blocky one from the comic if they REALLY wanted to go with that look, then retool the tank/mother ship mold to add a turret and swap the tiny spikes on the sides for some big pincers, and Viola!

I managed to get Energon Starscream last week. Surprisingly great figure for his age. Had to use some dry lube on his right bicep as it was a bit tight (and 20 year old clear plastic isn't something you want being too tight) but that aside he's a lot of fun. I wish he had wrist swivels but that aside he's nicely poseable and the transformation is cool. Also the ghost/undead look is really nice.

This isn't the first time a Trypticon-ish guy has had kids!
In the IDW1 comics, the natural way for new Transformers to be born is by Vector Sigma sending out an energy pulse that seeds a patch of land with new sparks. As they emerge, they leach metal from the surrounding ground to form their robot body mass. Cityformers were big enough to sometimes be seeded. Trypticon in particular wasn't seeded by Vector Sigma directly, a normal patch of seeded ground was moved into him so he could act as a protector for the first new batch of natural sparks since before the war started. The first newborn to grow out of Trypticon was Sideswipe II, a lookalike named after the recently dead original.

A hot take maybe but I WOULD really love a Sunstorm in the ER mold to match my Starscream/Thundercracker/Skywarp.
Sunstorm has had different looks over the years anyway. He was yellow in the cartoon, and creamsicle orange on the toy. So they *could* make one color for the ER mold and the other for the 86, and then people could pick and choose whatever fits better for their collection.
But let's get just *one* Sunstorm out there first...I swear Hasbro for all their jewery are almost allergic to money sometimes.

Shockwave and the Dorvacks have never been reissued. They definitely don't have the rights to the Valkyrie mold but are able to make new Jetfire toys so I don't know.

Cool ass toy. I'm a 90s kid, so I don't really have any G1 toy nostalgia, but I'm starting a Nemesis collection and the G1 toy aesthetic is kino, so I figured why not? Nice to get a taste of what this line is like without committing to buying all the others.
Also, got my preorders in for Starscream and Prowl. Going to pass on the bugs because I already got the Takara set.

Not really. He came out during IDW's Getaway's shenanigans but he's not based on the IDW Getaway design. His head is even the wrong color.
He IS based on one of IDW Chromedome's designs, being a body redeco.

Nah, not a combo - that's a darker shade of gold they're using this time around, but it's still just the Galaxy Force deco, with the same color layout (except for the wings, which now have paint on them). The Universe deco uses solid brown, while that looks like it's the same color as what was used on Black Roritchi back in Siege; that means they can technically milk this mold for one more use before they're done with it.

Dead Starscream was on-screen for, like, two seconds before dissolving into a pile of ash; even Optimus' dead body was on-screen longer. Starscream's ghost, on the other hand, had plenty of screentime, comic appearances, and references in other media, so it's easy to see why that gets priority.

Going back to my autism about Skywarps forearms for a minute. The Siege mold gang molded to the forearms, and I'm certain that's how ER did it as well. 86 ditches this, and for some reason, seems to gang mold the forearms with the thrusters/head, and what makes this insane is that the bottom of the arms is the proper color, an inversion on Siege. I don't get why they did it like this, it would mean most seekers would need paint there and that whole section is wrapped around by several partsbin plane mold so the risk or chipping is high.

>Completely without mercy or fear, having an unrivaled thirst for destruction and chaos, and intolerant of weakness, Megazarak is responsible for the near-annihilation of the Autobots in many timestreams, often including Optimus Prime. He amassed a small army of loyal followers and tore through Cybertron in a genocidal war unprecedented in this Cybertron's history... and most other Cybertrons, in fact. The surface of the planet is littered with the remains of Autobot and Decepticon alike, but mostly Autobot. He has nearly obliterated the planet, leaving only his followers and a tiny handful of straggling Autobot resistance fighters lurking deep within the planet.
He's pretty much exclusive to convention stories.

In real life Megazarak started as “Chaos Megatron” a BotCon exclusive redeco of Armada Megatron to represent a new body for G1 Megatron as a sort of G3 storyline. However, Hasbro refused to allow 3H (the owners of BotCon at the time) to use the Megatron name so instead they used Scorponok's Japanese name to keep the Mega part and characterized him as a despot from the future of Beast Machines who tried to steal the Oracle from an elderly Ultra Magnus. However, H3 collapsed after publishing the first part of his story meaning it didn’t go anywhere. Instead, because his toy was originally released in the 2003 Universe toyline, Ask Vector Prime had him be a despot from the RID timeline in order to explain all the weird non-show RID characters and random RID redecoes in the Universe line. His main characterization now is a despot who jumps from universe to universe trying to conquer them all

>I mention something about him dying happy, he realizes that I'm actually sympathetic to Getaway
>gives me a charitable/pity answer that like, I could think that, before he went unconscious due to immeasurable pain, his last conscious moments were happy
Anyway, you can make him right on some accounts but wrong on others, Getaway's own issues were interesting and it was neat to see a D-lister elevated to an antag position like that, AND they were doing a decent job regarding the main quest, AND Rodimus had his own ongoing issues. Think next time he shows up, he should just be a friendly escape artist though, don't make him some nefarious schemer twice.

i like clear parts and weaponizers, but I don't think they work well together. clear parts should represent like, shield generators, energy chargers, laser blades, etc. the GUN BARREL shouldn't be clear, that's retarded. but there should be SEGMENTS of the gun that are clear because they're glowing and charging up with pewpew energy.. it's okay to start with an all-clear piece, then paint most of it, just exposing a few areas, but....

What makes this extra frustrating is that back when Mark was showing off the figure on his Instagram, he even photoshopped all black to look like it was in shadow in one of his pictures. It's like, dude, Mark, you were the one in charge of making this toy!! If even you thought he would look better like this, WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE HIM LIKE THAT?!?!

Honestly, I might actually be willing to re-buy him for that! Although I'd prefer it if Takara outright remolded his head, because if I remember correctly in the written description of Liege Maximo (I can't remember if it was in Furman's G2 script, or in Alignment, or whatever else), I'm pretty sure the red we see in his "mouth" was described as some sort of fiery furnace coming from inside him. But instead, Hasbro sculpted that portion as a big ol' bottom lip on the outside of his mouth. They got it completely opposite with the inside portion on the outside! These days, it feels like Hasbro's entire research process for what a character is supposed to look like consists of glancing at the wiki or the first result in a Google image search, and then making a whole lot of assumptions about what they saw.

That's what bothers me the most about the toy head. Pretty much everyone saw the red part as some kind of weird respirator-like mouth connected to tubes. And instead of that, they give us a normal mouth and a weird ass chin. Even the horns not being attached to the head don't look as bad as that.

Did my best with the stickers on the trailer, though some of them still ended up a little askew. The missile launchers on the repair drone seem a bit loose and it seems to lean a little to the left when extended. Also, not sure if there's some trick I'm missing, but it really did not want to stay upright when I tried to get a pic with it like that earlier.

Add you fucking kidding me? A few hours ago I just bought Armada Predacon FROM GODDAMN AUSTRALIA out of sheer Transmetal nostalgia. I've been posting about them here for so long and couldn't take it anymore.

Cool thing that isn't necessary would be the Rampage spark squeezer and Voyager disk that can fit in his tail. (Am I even remembering that right?)

His whole thing was that he didn't have WEAPONS. Having wheels for legs was never an issue.
Also, he had legs on his toy.

Hey, that dude's cool - especially if you're getting both Minicons he's supposed to come with as well. In fact, he's cooler because they actually retooled him to have Powerlinx ports, so you can pair him up with all kinds of little guys.
Also, his lore was pretty neat.

Yeah, the Minicon pegs ended up on his shoulder pads in Robot mode which is really nifty if you got any Targetmaster type Minicon giving Preadcon shoulder mounter weapons. And shoulder mounted weapons are just fucking cool.

gotcha, you want the handle further in. I agree. We might have to settle for mid-forearm though.
And that is not a good enough hiding job for a couple reasons.
>>11811566
It's not that it fit into his default tail, it's that his tailtip did a lil inspector gadget 'retract, then come out as a different tool' move, and THAT tool was disk-compatible yeah

But rubber wheels.
To my knowledge, recent figures with rubber wheels all have the same problem along with those cubes they put in with the retro reissue G1 figures.
The same problem as the RTS bleiugion with his treads. The rubber de-plastiecize (is that what it is called?) turn hard plastic into mush.
...
I really wish they reissue those RTS figure.

Because they are.
They stop doing gimmick tie-in with the mainline and went all in with screen accurate characters around 5 years ago. So you more or less get the same characters- but better version without anything interesting or different.
This isn't like with TR 10 years ago when they had to use their heads to figure out how to tie the gimmick of the year with characters they want to make. Some compromises have to be made, but the results were always interesting

yeah, it's a little weird since like,
I mean I get that transmetals are putting organic parts on the robot modes instead of the beast modes (even if that's really hard to tell with the reptiles and arthropods, that is to say, all the predacons) but that's still no reason he should have a kinda sorta not really t-rex forehead and eyes on his chest. With a kinda-maybe nosebridge acting as his abs
You can see the wrinkly skin texture on most of the rest of him at least, it works though it really needs paint to make sense as the sculptor intended.

Same. Was hoping Takara would retool the SS86 Dinobots into the Geists for Toyrise, but it seems they're going with the smaller scale introduced by Genesic GGG for the rest of their Toyrise Braves. Hopefully GSC fills in the Geist vacumm, since they seem to have no problems with making Brave villains.
