I've tried "Vistella: The Stars of Your World", by the recommendation of an anon of /fvn/. It was quite boring, even though I held no expectations. For most of my time reading it, I couldn't shake off the thought that it was mostly the author's attempt to show whatever world they half-thought of while daydreaming, and to discuss about whatever personal problem they had in their life; the latter is theoretically fine by me, they just forgot to make it interesting. I think the lowest moment of it all, to me, was learning that the main L.I. was unable to bleed; that alone, the mere thought of all that blood, unable to be freed from the confines of the corpus... was an unpleasant image.

It's a fun trilogy of full-length games that play pretty well, with a somewhat interesting mechanic in the Soul Cannon (which changes with each game), cool/cute characters and a plot that's actually pretty fun and starts off generic in the first before completely going off the rails in the sequels. The games had a broad story arc that ended up never finished but can be played standalone. The first two are turn based RPGs that play pretty unique (the game pages can describe it better). The screenshots might not look the prettiest at first glance but the writing and characters do the heavy lifting - I thought TTL wasn't as strong as his earlier games in that department. Third game, The Drop, is a roguelite. Not a fan of the genre, but the game ends on multiple cliffhangers that were supposed to be resolved in the never released 4th game.

Eden's Last Sunrise was apparently the dev's way of giving the characters a proper resolution IIRC but as a reinterpretation instead of a continuation. So if you've played the earlier games nearly half the cast will feel familiar.

If you had to pick one to play go with I Miss the Sunrise as it was a lot more polished. The game structure is just straight up Mass Effect where you do missions, bond with your crew in between while resolving their personal storylines, and even ̶r̶o̶m̶a̶n̶c̶e̶ ̶ express your deep trust with them. Just remember to turn on cursor memory in the settings to make battles not a hassle.

(and all three male playthroughs I've seen 'romanced' him so the dev knew what he was doing)

Have you played the game? Maybe this was nerfed in 5th demo, but I've literally got in to the blood lock secured room by falling on the concrete tiles and breaking them. Expie suffered only a dislocated knee. The world they're in is just unfathomably cruel, a human wouldn't travel more than a few meters in it.
