honestly i have a few theories i could throw around, but have you ever noticed that the top players for chess all seem a little autistic? i think autism manifests itself differently in men and women. men and women are socialized differently. its more common for men to be taught to be ultra competitive. additionally chess is mostly played by men and so the odds of a women becoming a top player is simply less likely. also if you consider the nature of what men were expected to for generations we were hunters. it would make sense that our spatial awareness(an aspect of intelligence) might be a little sharper. basically our brains are different too.
