like rabbits would be naturally fearful and your rabbit wife could die if you bear your canines or act too aggressive
a female snow leopard would be overcome with bloodlust and kill your neighbor
or crows are naturally inclined to thievery and witchcraft
and courting an anthro female in this world is seen as foolhardy and dangerous but also grants immeasurable respect, it's like yokai or ancient forest spirits from mythology
that's the type of system I like the most

I like it when humans and anthros just casually coexist. Like all the species in Zootopia together, but with humans too. Also removing female humans and male anthros from the setting is kind of lame. A big part of the appeal of hmofa to me is that it's unusual and perhaps even taboo, so making humans and anthros sexually dimorphic halves of a whole misses the point to me.

pair bonding is important to the human species, we’re in a weird place because us human beings are in a strange middle ground between being a tournament species, and a pair bonding species. we definitely form pair bonds, but promiscuity still exists as a kind of emergency mating strategy. and it’s the lower-trust strategy obviously. So the people who have the inclination of pair bonding and who understand the importance of preserving your capacity to pair bond and social contracts are naturally going to have issue with the promiscuous people.

I wish people overall were less promiscuous right now. You get your heart broken less that way, and it’s a much more virtuous path to take. Promiscuous people hurt themselves just as much as they hurt others and society. I pity them. I'm a radical centrist when it comes to this topic. A good hmofa setting should have human females and anthro males, and even the inverse of hmofa is healthy for a rounded, well-balanced world. The important addendum is that I can't trust most communities and creatives to tactfully handle this concoction while still remaining something intended to be for a "hmofa" audience. The well just feels too poisoned after a while. Even people who seem to be hmofa-pilled to the core will pull some "YOU JUST KNOW" crap when amohf enters the mix (except they'll call it ironic instead of fetishistic).

It's an aspect of world-building that should be handled with attention and care. If your audience is hmofa, then you need to give them hmofa, and if some of the subject matter isn't hmofa then you'll need to structure it in a way that remains palatable to your audience. Otherwise you end up selling BLUE the Movie when it's probably more purple than promised in the trailers.
