I watched it when I was really high and it made me cry a lot. No homo. Parts of it were very corny but the subject matter was shocking and sad enough to really grip me and there was some good dialogue.
I liked Miller's Girl okay too.

Dear Zachary is a brutal one but that's a documentary
What made the ending of Fallout so sad was just how there are thousands and thousands of people just like Jenna's character living through the PTSD of something they never asked for. It wasn't just a character in a film, it's what the character represented

Yeah it is extremely bleak. The end reminds you that healing is not by any means a fast or even necessarily finite process. And the ripple effects it had, particularly on Ortega's sister, was brutal. The dialogue when they are in the bed together was really hard to swallow but real. It's not just the trauma victims but their families having to watch her go through their own helplessness / guilt spiral. Then you are compelled to hide your grief and trauma as a means of making your family feel safer and more comfortable, so you never really find the time to confront and work through your own demons. Is there anything more emotionally traumatic to a developing teenager than surviving a school shooting? (that's the premise of the movie, it happens in the first 4 minutes @anyone that thinks this is a spoiler)
