What went so right? And what was your favorite moment in the series?

>Sopranos
Nope.

"Do you want to make a deal with the devil?"
I really enjoyed the show but at some point it keeps repeating itself. Could've been done in 2 or 3 seasons instead of 4.

Mad Men is atrocious.
Sopranos completely fell apart in its final season (1-5 were outstanding though).
Succession managed to be mostly consistent, the final season wasn't as good as the others, you can tell they were struggling to come up with witty snappy dialogue. But it remained watchable.... and the funeral episode, where Roman loses his shit.... man, that performance was 10/10 and personally i found it difficult to watch coz it was so real.

Hard to pick a favorite moment. The Roman dick pic is pretty great, as is Greg’s testimony on Capitol Hill.
I showed the show to my gf after pitching it as ‘basically reality TV but well written’ and she absolutely loved the show. She fucking hated Shiv and the mom, and generally was most sympathetic to Ken but mostly agreed with Logan’s view that the kids were total losers. Her favorite moment was S4 when they found that recording of Logan with Connor and the other Execs as they have some simple fun. Mostly because it painted such a contrast of how far gone the kids really were.
But its cultural impact is very muted compared to Sopranos or BB - the show was drawing way fewer viewers each week than like young sheldon. I think oddly people like aspirational positive views of wealth, and Succession really pushed the idea that the uber wealthy are just as disgusting as the normies. Their plots aren’t grand, they are reactive, emotional, stupid people and I wonder if a lot of viewers subconsciously want to believe that maybe at least the wealthy have some sort of plan. Thats likely over thinking it. But transfer the major plot points to a bum family in Appalachia and i think the show could be just as good.

This is like the only show I’ve ever binged and watched in like a week. And it’s probably the last good thing HBO made or will ever make now that everything they do is about poor oppressed brown people.
