Barbarian's main issue is its cynicism. The first 30 minutes work thematically, but the resolution is fairly awful toward Skarsgard's character. Same issue with the homeless man, and how the extremely nasty subject matter is dealt with. Not sure what to say about the dialogue, other than that it's poor.

Weapons is awful almost in its entirety. The multiple perspectives don't add perspective, they're mere gimmicks. The information dribble throughout is less methodical than the construct would suggest, and most of the contents per perspective are completely uninteresting. The movie additionally has strong tonal issues, and, same as Barbarian, suffers from cynicism. Also poor dialogue.
