I used to work at a movie theater with digital kiosks physically in the theater.
If you decide to graciously respect my time and order the ticket on the kiosk infront of me you get a surcharge, but if you spend my wage paid hours I could spend on dumber customers who need my help ordering a ticket you are rewarded.

The company is incentivizing you to waste its resources.
