>The modern horror has been weirdly hyper fixated on females for some reason.
It's much easier to find a cute girl to make the star of your movie than to find a good, charismatic male lead.
Plus, with body horror specifically, I think women are more affected by it and relate more to it, being more self conscious about their looks
>>
>>219829977
Or it's because women are generally perceived as beautiful and pure, so seeing them as monsters is jarring and interesting, versus some dude just looking like a monster which wasn't uncommon for the time because of being in wars.

Yep it was kino.
I think I liked ParaNorman more because it had a tighter story, and was a bit more traditional with the ghosts and ghouls. But Coraline was best at the start where it seemed very dreamy, also very nice themesong.

It's from The Irishman where DeNiro is supposed to be a guy in his late 20s. That particular scene was done badly and had things like hits being out of sync and props breaking with no effort at all (the glass on a door smashes just from it being opened slowly).

Weird, because most of classic body horror films have horrifying male character that got transformed. Female body horror is just so shallow, it is always about the self pity, woe is me and not about the loss of humanity or the lack of it.

Dunno about that but it reminds me of Together. A couple drank mysterious pagan water and got stuck together whenever they are close next to each other. In the end, they had sex and then fused into a hermaphrodite entity.

modern films are just too happy making quick and short cuts, but here it just kinda lingers for a bit before cutting to a different angle or scene. especially noticeable in dialogue scenes, a more modern filmmaker would be cutting constantly between the actors as they respond to each other
