Retard. Do you really think he was asking about location and not the big fucking planet in the back? Did you expect some upvotes? Asshole.
>>
>>219824591
at this point it's like a lost art
>>
>>219824445
Probably painted some shit on a pane of glass and put it in front of the camera
>>
>>219824445
afaik they just put some rings around the moon for the effect
>>
>>219824445

movie was okay. but the ending really hits home. it's a dreamlike experience that I want told on screen. I'm always seeking it out. a lonely alien etherealness.
>>
>>219824445
This shit doesn't allow for motion or at least only very little.
>muh CGIslop
You are a mouthbreather.

Both of these could be done well with CGI, the problem is studios can't help themselves with CGI, so you'd have close ups of the clouds broiling, saturn spinning throwing asteroids, Chris Pratt going "whaaat the fuck!" etc

Fucking hate how the poster art ruins the surprise at the end....

!!!FACT!!!

They actually just nuked a whole planet for this scene. Fucked up but caprica had it coming

Imagine how kino Avatar would have been with giant paintings of Pandoran landscapes and that gas giant hanging in the sky instead of CGI slop.

And with large models for the vehicles
>>
>>219825137
I only caught it on tv so it blew my mind, it's a shame the rest of the movie (at least once he discovers other people) is kinda not good.

I love models and miniatures so much more than cgi
>>
>>219824445
>why did it get replaced with cgi
CGI is cheaper overall and its easier to use as a means to launder money efficiently.
>>
>>219824445
They used to casually travel to Saturn to film a few shots, now we can't even land on the Moon again

80s or early 90s Avatar could've worked like that imo.
>>
>>219829107
80s or 90s Avatar doesn't exist. And couldn't have.

Saturn, he’s on Titan

Never seen it and I have no idea what the surprise is from looking at the poster
>>
>>219825137
You saying that the poster ruins the surprise does more to ruin it than the poster itself.
Nice job faggot. Now I'll be making guesses as I watch it.

If you look at that poster you spend the entire movie wondering when you're going to see the image only to find out that it's at the very end but would have been more of a surprise if you didn't see it before hand!!!FACT!!!
