Having rewatched them recently without being in the mood I can safely say that only the 1st is a great movie, 2 and 3 are decent for the most part

The first one is an all around great movie. It only starts going off the rails in the second one and the third one kinda shits the bed in part but manages to have a powerful conclusion.

My subjective and 2nd favorite is
Gandalf and the horse riders arriving at Helms Deep.

Third favorite is the entire end sequence of Fellowship with the song Breaking of the Fellowship, fucking amazing the way it captures the overall series' blackpilled-yet-persevering-in-the-face-of-doom-anyway message.

Someone should just make a poll with multiple choices allowed, and we'll be able to see which are overall most voted.
