What I know about them is that they're very codependent.
About 30-40% of Riona's shorts are with Nio, and she doesn't make shorts with anyone else, I haven't checked all of Niko's shorts but she also seems to only do them either solo or with Riona.

On Riona's channel, they mostly dance to trendy couple songs, on Niko's channel they usually make landmine girlfriend skits where Niko accidentally says something insensitive to trigger Riona (a lot of which are based on real life events between them). Most comments on their shorts are about how they should just started a couple's channel at this point.

Riona generally can't function in groups without Niko, which is why you'll sometimes find Niko in group collabs with Riona even if its not natural (for example Riona wanted to collab with Calli, her oshi, but it ended up as trio collab with Niko). If you want some serious whiplash look at Riona group collabs (like the minecraft server stuff) without Niko and she's either really quiet/shy or awkwardly trying to seem more fun, whereas with Niko she's really talkative and they're always improving skits together on the fly (She's also very clingy and fishes for compliments a lot when its just the two of them).

They eat out together every day or every other day at most. Sometimes during their streams whenever the other drops in, Niko will say something like "Hey when will you finish stream/dance practice, I'll wait for you so lets go out for food after" and Riona would get really excited for a bit, its passively happened quite a few times while watching them. One time during a getting over it stream, Riona gets a text from Niko asking her if she wants to go out today (they were supposed to go out the week after because they were busy but their schedule cleared up for the day), Riona immediately replies with yeah and is giddy about it for the rest of stream.

They seem to have quite a few sleepovers unrelated to streams or collabs. One time during a stream Riona randomly burst out laughing, then she explained it was because Niko walked into her streaming room naked after her shower because she "forgot" her underwear in Riona's room.

Ever since their 3D debut, they've been doing more 3D collabs, their new years drinking stream (With Raden, Ririka, Calli and Akirose) was really good content. Riona gets really drunk trying to impress the others and come off as fun, so she's a little over the top but whenever the camera is not on them you see those two in their own world whispering to each other the whole time (Raden calls them out for this multiple times). At some point Riona starts feeding Niko and also she basically spends the entire stream eating from Niko's food/plate, even passing it around for the others to try which they made fun of her for because she's basically acting as if she owns Niko. They also did almost all of their skits/songs together (whenever you finish a drink you have to do a skit or sing a song) even if only one of them has to. Riona also gets really touchy, casually holding Niko's hand multiple times in the background without really bringing attention to it. They also for some reason made a lot of puppyplay jokes on that stream.

Their 3D horror collabs are also really good content. In the recent one they got really touchy, holding hands while playing for the first portion of the game and also groping each other all over (mostly Riona with Niko's boobs and Niko with Riona's ass). First horror collab was also great, with Niko having an accidental insensitive moment like one of their shorts.

In their 3D debut live, during the emotional climax of their final song, they briefly hold/touch hands which Riona says wasn't part of the choreo, just something Niko told her she wanted to do. They also lock arms and Riona leans into Niko for the selfie picture at the end (picrel).

During Kanatan's last totsu, Niko was the first to call in from her phone, when she finished talking to Kanatan she told her to wait and handed the phone to Riona who was right next to her so she can also talk to Kanatan. Kanatan makes fun of Niko (who was being sappy earlier) saying things like "sounds like you'll be just fine even without me here".

When you listen to other FG member's tell stories about the group, like most recently Chihaya talking about the group deciding to go get massages after practice, they'll mention things like "Riona and Niko left practice together" casually. In that story Riona joined them for the massage later after she went back with Niko (Niko didn't join).

Niko genuinely thought Riona was underage when flowglow first met, thinking things like "I didn't know hololive hired minors".

Right before their 3D live, Niko stopped inviting Riona out to eat as much. According to her, Riona is the only person in her life she feels comfortable venting to, esp when they go out to eat and since Riona was under a lot of pressure (Riona was very far behind the others in popularity even tho she's the leader, 3D was supposed to be her saving grace) she didn't want to be a burden on her. They go out even more now that they're done to make up for it.

The idea behind their landmine girlfriends skits/ one of the first skits was based on a time where Riona was doing her make-up next to Niko, and she said something like "your bare-face is cute anyway", which annoyed Riona.

Niko's wardrobe sucks, so Riona takes her out shopping and chooses the clothes she likes for her.

I know they participate in group collabs or special events together (like Luna being in Matsuri's birthday 3D a few months ago), but I never expected a duo collab from them ever again, festivaluna in the title and all. Luna isn't the type to initiate collabs (with almost anyone not just Matsuri) so its probably Matsuri, I wonder what prompted her to do so now of all times. Haven't finished watching the stream, but it's funny to me that Matsuri still has her "talking to Luna voice". She speaks softer, much slower and pauses a lot (to listen for Luna's reaction), almost like she's sleepy, even her laughs and stuff come off as different. They always used to have very late night MC collabs so it suited the vibes, but its funny that its still instinct (or maybe intentional?) for her 5 years later.

Finished the stream. Matsuri acts similarly to what she was before, albeit a little less aggressively, she still has the habit of staying quiet, watching Luna react to something then calling her cute/giggling at it, she still also does the thing where she finds some random excuse to ask Luna to cling to her. The game also suited Festivaluna dynamics, Luna likes acting a little stupid/slow and having someone else lead her around, and Matsuri takes that role, it used to happen a lot in MC (for reference, something similar during poluna Portal 2, but Polka isn't the brightest so Luna had to do a lot of the heavy-lifting for the puzzles). I'd be curious for them to play a longer game that gives them space to talk more.

The way the stream ended was really funny, Matsuri was very desperate. She went "thank you for today..." to Luna and then started bombarding her with a bunch of games they can play together (even mentioning some minecraft thing)... like can we do this together can we do that together for like 4+ games. She got so desperate she was even like you can call Polka and all 3 of us can play this one game together if you want... I wonder if she was trying to use the momentum from the stream to get more time with Luna, and also Luna would be more inclined to say yes in front of an audience. I've seen all the stuff around Matsuri, but I'm not sure I'm willing to believe her doing this for yuribait/more fans. In the first place, the reason Festivaluna broke up as a pair was because Matsuri wasn't serious enough/committed enough to the relationship, I don't think trying to approach Luna with yuribait ideas when she was literally asking for Matsuri to bang her on stream is very smart, like surely not even Matsuri is going to believe that Luna is willing to yuribait with her at this point, she's smarter than that. Also what Matsuri said was actually that she was aiming more for some attention from unicorn fans, who wouldn't particularly enjoy yuribait either (certainly not Luna's flavor of it), so I'm not sure I believe her going for yuribait just for that. In a nutshell, they met in 2024, and shortly after their first face-to-face meeting, they began to grow increasingly close.

In my personal opinion, their streams were indeed “"boring"” because the atmosphere between them was quite soft and cozy instead of the usual banter Marine uses, but I found it cute to see how well they got on and how calm they always sounded when they were talking to each other.
