>episode 1
Ok, maybe Itaoka didn't get the memo that they are supposed to be mother and child. That episode was kind of gay even outside of the transformation, but maybe the season's supposed to be platonic with no yuri subtext. Won't stop me from having fun with incest though.
>episodes 2-4
Aww, sweet, they are bonding as close friends. Also, heh, Anna hired her mom, and Jett called them a good pairing, good old incest fuel.
>episode 5
What kind of reaction was that?! Anna, that's not how a daughter reacts when her mom is hanging out with her friends!
Maybe whatever elaboration on Anna's feelings there will be next episode will make it plausibly platonic but it could make the scene even more yuri.

Oh yeah, as expected they keep double down on AnMiku.
Either the first episode is a red herring or their excuse isAnna and this Mikuru is from different timeline, so they can fuc- I mean become couple without breaking timeline.Though I am right now think even if Mikuru is Anna's mother, Anna is adopted and not biological. Their haircolor is different, unlike any other mother-daughter pairing in the franchise
Also, I am surprised how close the season match Mahoutsukai. As in, in the same episode of Mahoutsukai, they are tackling the same topic.
I thought they are going to just stop in episode 1, but no... 6 episodes in and they still follow Mahoutsukai.
I want to post a comparison table later, but for now this speak brightly to how much AnMiku we are going to get, because they are going to develop it as much as, if not more than, MiraLiko.

>>4536442There are moms with different hair colors from their Cure daughters like Yayoi's mom, but that's kind of rare. Even if you have a case like Mana and her mom, usually, the dad will have matching hair instead.
All that aside, either Murayama and the other higher up staff like the director and producer know that Anna and Mikuru are daughter and mother and laughing their asses off, they know they aren't daughter and mother and still laughing their asses off, or they still somehow haven't decided whether to make Mikuru Anna's mom or not and are laughing maniacally while winging it. I think the mulitple Eclair candidates indicate that they are self-aware of how trollish they are being. I'll just enough the ride and the maybe incest.

Not 100% sure if Mikuru's is Anna's mom yet, but they pushed that pretty hard last episode. I'm not even sure if they are pushing the yuribait between Anna and Mikuru or the fact that they are mother and child harder this season. I'll enjoy the incestbait while I can, but they are probably either gay for each other or mother and child, not both.

I am sorry, what kind of mom posing like this when her daughter eats Macaron?
Is she trying to seduce her own daughter???
Especially when Macaron has been staple yuri food since Black Rock Shooter (and Kira Kira, for precure itself).
This has to be intentional by the staffs...

>Not 100% sure if Mikuru's is Anna's mom yet
I think the line about Hamburg Steak and eating it very soon pretty much sealed the deal for me. It would be such a strange thing to bring up out of nowhere if they weren't attempting to foreshadow it.

I can understand not liking Doki even if you're a /u/fag. It's a pretty weird season. I feel like I love it more for /m/fag reasons than anything.
Doki being as shamelessly yuri as it is definitely paved the way for Maho going so far as to let the main duo have a kid though.
>>
>>4545932
This is partly due to conflicts among the staff, the foolish people who wanted to shoehorn in Het (which they somehow managed to sneak into the novel), and the more sensible people who pushed the yuri in as best they could. The biggest victim is the film, which can only be described, to put it mildly, as a complete disaster.

I hope that Cure Arcana Shadow will be as yuri-inducing as Cure Answer and Mystique are. She'll probably form a duo with Cure Eclair though we'll see how yuri that ends up being soon enough. The toy release schedule implies that Cure Eclair won't appear untillate Julybut it would be funny if Luluka had a bunch of gay flashbacks with her even before she appears properly in the show. I think whichever Cure Eclair candidate Luluka seems to have the most attachment to will be the real Cure Eclair.

I do like the Doki movie for being a soulful mess (though it's definitely important to say that it isn't /u/ friendly).Honestly, her marrying a guy doesn't stop me from believing that she still has a bunch of wives too just because she's Mana, but that's enough about guys

One thing I remember is that Joe being in love with Mana as well was an idea by the writer that got shot down early on. This is probably before he was determined to be Marie Ange's fiance, but Mana stealing a fiance from a princess of all things only to seduce one of her fragments would have been funny. Doki's yuri was pretty deranged as it is. There was supposed to be an episode with Alice's brother, and Mana was supposed to have a crush on him I think. That got cut because it wouldn't quite fit with Mana representing agape. He does appear in the novel as a significant character, butMakopi's the one with a blatant crush on him while he treats Makopi as a friend while obviously caring more about Mana. You could say maybe Mana does like him too, and it doesn't really help that Rikka, the narrator, doesn't often comment on Mana's feelings. The only time she does comment on Mana's feelings is whenever Rikka can portray her as being larger than life somehow, which is one of a few reasons why she's an unreliable narrator. I think Alice's brother just likes Mana in a goddess kind of way, and Mana likes him as close platonic friend though. Rikka would never admit it, even as the narrator, but Rikka's clearly the most important person to Mana, though whether that's in a romantic or platonic way is up to interpretation I suppose.

You guys are ignoring the huge elephant in the room, which the director happily shoved in people's faces in the material after the end of Doki Doki, Nikaido, basically the number one choice of the hetfags to be Mana's canon romantic interest and I'm not kidding, they embraced the movie the way a good Herfaga would, ignoring all the blatant yuri in favor of less than 1 minute of interactions.

>Joe being in love with Mana as well was an idea by the writer that got shot down early on
I am pretty sure it was the producer who has that idea, which is how we got Blue in Happiness Charge. Doki-doki, HapCha, and GoPri share the same producer so when his idea was shutdown by other Doki Doki staffs member, he pitched it again with Happiness Charge and the new staffs were okay with it. You can trace his idea of older romantic interest keep appearing from Joe to Blue to Kanata, though Blue's bad reception probably why Kanata isn't as romantically relevant in Go Princess.
When the producer finally change, we can see the existence of older male Love Interest disappear in Mahoutsukai (in fact they make Kouchou sensei too old to be love interest).
>There was supposed to be an episode with Alice's brother, and Mana was supposed to have a crush on him I think.
This one is from the writer, which is why Alice's brother finally appeared in the novel. But he always meant to be the "not-love interest" in the sense that Mana and him can never be together.
Looking from mirrorview, I think Doki Doki was supposed to be like Hamefura (equal male-female harem members) with Joe, Alice's brother, and that one boy classmate as male LIs and the other Cures + Regina as potential female LIs.
But luckily for us, the other staffs manage to convince the producer and writer to drop the male members and left Mana with just the females.

>which the director
The movie has different director.
TV Series Main Director is Go Koga.
Movie Director is Naoyuki Ito.
The movie however share the same writer as the TV series (Ryota Yamaguchi). I actually suspect it was the TV director that block the producer and the writer from pushing for Male LI for Mana.

The writer still refers to the movie in the novel, and it's obviously still canon, but Nikaido himself only gets a couple of scenes and is otherwise mostly irrelevant as usual. He mostly just ends up interacting with Rikka, which is kind of funny. There's no real hint of who Mana's future husband is or even if she was in a real marriage unlessyou take the fact that she quotes Masaru from Digimon Savers as a hint that he was her future husband all along, which is definitely a ridiculous notion. Maybe she met him during her offscreen training arc, but that also implies she went to a different dimension during that. It's not impossible since the Magical Lovely Pad is said to have that power, but again, it would be absurdist.
In the final chapter of the novel, it's clear that Mana chooses to be by Rikka's side, at least for the time being, so I'm happy with that.

Yes, but remember that hetfags are not intelligent beings (they love Hetcharge, especially in the West, Japan hates that season) that's the problem, not an act of logic or what's best for the series, but the satisfaction of the base instincts of a handful of perverts.Frankly, it's more implausible to see Masaru married to any living being; his life is punching Digimon in the face.

We don't know how yuri it will end up being. The most prominent yuri coupling so far comes with a ticking bomb that may see them effectively separated forever or at least completely redefine their relationship.
It's an interesting ride so far, but if the yuri angle is all you care about, it's probably not for you.

I have two theories. The first one isI think Usonoir is Cure Eclair that get corrupted by Tome of Mirage.Basically the idea is that Luluka and Cure Eclair were partner. Then one day, Luluka went to London to procure some Pre-Kit tools, while Cure Eclair stayed in Japan and discover Tome of Mirage. This corrupted her and turned her into Usonoir. This is why Luluka is working for the Phantom Thief, because she is inflitrating the group in order to find a way to purify Usonoir and bring Cure Eclair back.Usonoir conviniently wear mask, so technically when we see Usonoir is the Phantom Thief HQ, that doesn't necessarily mean Usonoir herself is in the HQ, it could be just the armor is placed there without a person inside it (maybe controlled through magic or something). This allow Cure Eclair to do normal stuff at daytime.Current Luluka's appearance (and Precure form) is actually a disguise to fool Phantom Thief so they won't recognize her, even though she was their close friend before become Phantom Thief.

Second theory isI think Anna is going to suffer one more time slip at the end of the season. She will transported even further to the past and has to grow up in the past. She became the original Star Detective that end up inspiring Mikuru. Then few years or few months before episode 1 happens, she meet Pochitan again and finally able to come back to the future. When she returned, to the present, that is when she finally realized that Mikuru is her (adoptive) mother, but now she and Mikuru is the same age again (around 42-43 years old).I have a feeling Mikuru changes her name into Mirai Akechi (Mirai is a synonim of Mikuru, but more commonly used in modern time. And maybe she is adopted by a family named Akechi. Mikuru doesn't seem to have a living parent right now), which explained why Anna doesn't reliaze Mikuru Kobayashi is her (adoptive) parent.

>>4548066I think these two are Anna's biological parent. They have appeared multiple times now, appear in the opening, and both wear shirt with love+wing icon which is the symbol for Cure Answer/Cure Mystique/Pochitan, which is pretty suspicious...
>>
>>
>>4548064
I think this is a pretty plausible theory. From toy lines, it's clear thatArcana Shadow and Eclair have history together and that the former is devoted to the latter. There isn't any hint of the other Cure Eclair candidates having history with Luluka, though that might change in a few episodes
>>4548066I personally think Mikuru wants to become and knows about Precure because of her grandma since that is where her pendant comes from. Anna being Mikuru's (nonbiological?) grandmother doesn't seem completely implausible, but I assume the woman holding hands with child Mikuru in the op is her grandma and she doesn't resemble Anna. She does resemble Anna's mom, but that's a different can of worms
>>4548067Their names were revealed in an earlier episode (3 I think), but neither were Akechi. This almost certainly isn't true unless Akechi is Anna's adoptive last name rather than her original one. That would also discount Mikuru being the mom, unless antics are afoot.

>woman holding hands with child Mikuru in the op is her grandma and she doesn't resemble AnnaI don't think that is Mikuru's grandmother, I think that is the previous Star Detective. She looks exactly how Mikuru describe the previous Star Detective in episode 1.Though we don't know enough about Mikuru's grandmother to definitively say anything her. She could be the previous Star Detective, but I think she is a separate character. If we are using Mahoutsukai as basis, I think Mikuru's grandmother was a fan of Star Detective, just like Mirai's grandmother was a fan of Magician, but she herself isn't a Detective.
