For non-Japanese anime or media that aren’t in a cartoon art style, you can just call it 'animated'.
'Cartoon' in Chinese is called katong.

>Eclipse of Illusion (Yun Shen Bu Zhi Meng) is a 2025 Chinese donghua (animated) fantasy series featuring a betrayed heroine, Yun Wangshu, who seeks vengeance after her clan is massacred on her wedding day

Err....who was she marrying....

Seniors, I am in need of dual yin cultivation scriptures

Binged it over the weekend. There's too much flashy action and I had problems telling characters apart. I wonder how they're going to fit another 26 episodes of this.
>>
>>4539021
She's still gotta kill the demon lord so her girlfriend will stop being a workaholic and have sex with her, she's like a hundred year old virgin
>>
>>4536870
This show has literally no textual yuri. As expected of any chink work.
What a waste of a thread.

>>4536912
Except they can barely even get uncensored yuri out there if they don't live in Taiwan.

>>4537017
Animation looks like an early PS4-era cutscene.

*PS1
Literally Final Fantasy 8 looking ass stuff.

To be fair, FF8’s pre-rendered cutscenes were absurdly good for when they came out.

Does Soulmate Adventures fall under this category? If yes, does anyone know what's the update on that? I didn't bother with S2 after I heard how disappointing it was
>>
>>4541706
Surprise, surprise, it still didnt become yuri. Just like OP.
>>
Can someone recommend me some yuri xianxia stories? I heard a bit of Eldest Martial Sister Gave Up Treatment, but I can tell the native writing was already really casual and the translation just made it even worse

Check out Into the Sea, maybe?

Try "I am kind-hearted", it's one of the best I ever read, it's more plot oriented but the yuri is always there and the mc and the female lead relationship is really good, keep in mind that the start is a bit slow but it's worth the read.

I've rewatched both seasons and a 2 ep special recently, and can say that S2 is about the same as S1, you still get quite enough scenes of Feng Ling and Yuxui being cute together inbetween scenes of superpoweref kungfu action and sect scheming.
As for the plot, special finished some lines and left some for possible sequel, and, of course, nobody did more than held hands, but it was 100% expected outcome.

>>4547273
S2 has some problems but it got overblow because of the shippers from one of the mc mom and that other girl teacher
>>
>>4547280
I think "doesn't have actual yuri" is a pretty big problem to have all around.
>>
>>4547642
If that's your problem, S1 had that too. No, some fans were butthurt about a different thing.

MC and the redhead have this friendship storyline, but it's not very prominent until the very end, where redhead's worsened condition becomes big part of MC's motivation to continue her quest past her vengeance. Unless S2 greatly expands their interactions, I wouldn't recommend watching the series for this rather small part.
It is worth noting that despite there being several prominent allied male characters, neither MC nor redhead show any interest in that. So redhead is probably the closest relationship MC has in-series outside of family. Still, "read between the lines" kind of thing.

Can anyone kindly explain some of the "chinese magic cultivation" setting rules? I never saw a good explanation in any story, they just expect you to already know it.

Any CN media just has to be very careful or else Winnie the Pooh shuts it down. Show, don't tell, visual language, motivation and no labels whatsoever. CN stories will say that girl 1 values girl 2 above the fate of the world, but she would never say that this is her girlfriend. They would blush, get shy and aroused, but they would never kiss. Stuff like this. Of course that's a "rather small part" compared to stories of other places, but it's what the Chinese have to do.
Is this what this story is about?

I'll put it into spoiler and try to not touch on the main plot too much:
MC is betrayed by a group of influential people visiting her wedding, and her Fiance. She's left for dead, literally heart-crushed. Mysterious stranger gives her a heart transplant and she spends decades getting used to it. During that time Traitors rose to the uppermost level of government, Fiance set to marry current temporary head of state (the Redhead). MC gets a false name and face and enters into a tournament deciding who gets to govern the capital - current lord is one she wants revenge on. After the win, she's praised by Redhead for her strength (ep 3).
Their next meeting is in ep 7 where an important ceremony is performed by Redhead and MC is attending in professional capacity. Assassins ensue and MC defends Redhead, who still gets injured in the process. MC heals her and they bond a bit. Redhead is reminded of her past admiration for 'MC's past identity", but she doesn't know who MC really is. This leaves the relationship strained when MC asks for a favour after an incognito shopping date, without revealing any whys and hows.
In ep 10 MC attempts to infiltrate Fiance's castle to steal some stuff but is severely injured. Redhead surmises that MC's absence from official dinner means she does something secret and comes to her house demanding truth. MC tries to push her away with cold treatment but Redhead is not convinced. MC collapses from her wounds and is healed by Redhead who then leaves with no answers received.
In ep 13 MC catches Redhead on another incognito stroll through the city during Redhead's mother's death anniversary. They spend some time together, but honesty is hard to reach. Both visit Redhead's mother's grave and MC offers to use her newly acquired artifact to look into the past and see if it was an accident. It wasn't, signs point to Fiance being the assassin.

Continued:
In ep 18 Redhead is only participating in official capacity fighting off demons and looking (with a pained face) at MC performing burial rights for her avenged family.
In ep 23 Fiance's sudden but inevitable betrayal leaves Redhead in a demon-controlled state, she briefly has to fight MC, who uses another freshly acquired artifact to purify her. This act leaves MC unable to control her own inner demon, and she needs to be purified by the Redhead in turn. Then chinese rap turns on and they have to combine their Qi and techniques to fight Fiance, air-juggling him and performing a combo finisher.
In ep 24-26 MC and Redhead have to fight an EX boss and Redhead is mostly busy keeping up the seal preventing demons from entering the world. MC unlocks ultimate power from her past life and defeats the boss, but the seal is broken completely and the only way to save the world is to re-establish it with a sacrifice - Redheads' feelings - turning her into a cold professional thinking only of duty. Pairs' little talk before the price is paid reveals a way out - kill all the demons and the seal is not needed, thus feelings will return. Which becomes, in part, motivation for MC to continue her mission from past life, after her revenge is done.

Chinese stories sure are... convoluted, aren't they? Especially descriptions of otherworldly powers or magic. That motivation sounds interesting and also really typical, how feelings for another woman become that otherworldly power or magic themselves. Seems like a slow burn, but, once again, I guess that's just China.
