That k8kebot shills are paid to shit on games that aren't dei nigger woman loving trash, and if the mainstream media pushes a game, you shouldn't trust them, and if they shit on a game, then you should be interested in checking it out for yourself.

Of course it is. You post shit takes on Twitter, which Anons screencap and post here, then you repost the posts from the tread on Twitter, to farm engagement and further elevate the need and desire for shit takes on Twitter. And thus the cycle continues forever.

This 3/10 open world AI generated slop game being pushed so hard is so fuckin suspicious.
Marathon that is actually a really good and fun game which got near universal critical acclaim is getting dogpilled by a paid hate-campaign while this game gets off scot-free.
Very interesting...

there is unironically 0 exploring in the game.
you can find generic chests with randomgenerated loot, a generic shiny chest with a reskinned weapon that's worse than your starting sword, or abyss cubes you can farm from bandits, or a shitty puzzle that takes 5 min to do even though you know the solution, which also gives you an abyss cube OR a shiny box with shitty randomgenerated loot OR a reskinned weapon worse than your starting sword
>>
>>737096361
The puzzles are actual puzzles
All points of interest give you good rewards, unlike in Ubisoft games
Basically anyone calling this game "ubislop" is a casual that doesn't play games or too low IQ for anything but the most surface-level analysis.

Generic open world locales are good
Using AI assets is good
Adding random gameplay elements that server no real purpose is good
You don't need a compelling narrative
You don't need an interesting protagonist
You don't need fun and fair boss encounters
You don't need a memorable soundtrack or interesting art direction
Just fill up the slop trough with a giant bland open world and sprinkle it with a bunch of tacked on flashy bullshit and todays ADHD zoomers will reward you greatly for the opportunity to consume content

for anyone curious
[dokev news]
>pearl abyss focuses on one project at a time, hence they had to pause development on dokev and focus on crimson desert
>crimson desert's success has given developers confidence in dokev
>development on dokev has already begun, all major developers working on it
>they have taken feedback from crimson desert into account (storytelling, controls, etc)
>the game will have softer tones instead of violence since it is targeted for family and kids as well
>development is much easier now since the development team has experience with blackspace engine
>game could also potentially launch for the switch 2, since many in the development team think the game is suitable for such a platform
>they plan to release some development update within this year, expect news in game events such as gamescom or tga
>game's potential release window is 2028

I wasn't able to bring myself to finish this and now I'm having trouble finishing Crimson Desert as well for largely the same reasons, there's a lack of variety across the hours and in CD's case there's too many cases of unwarranted and purposeful tedium.
I think the only reason why I was able to finish BotW and TotK was because I knew that at any point that I could just finish the game in less than 30 minutes by bumrushing the finale, but if I want to finish CD I have to go through bugged quests, clean dust off of solar panels, do several shitty unresponsive boss fights and remain a forceful participant of a story that I don't care about.

AI games will be the future and that sucks. A 3/10 half AI generated soulless game coming out and selling 5 million while being lambasted by critics meanwhile a 9.5/10 game which oozes style and had near universal acclaim barely got a million and is failing to retain the players it did get. Just tragic, gamers these days have 0 taste.

When other games do this, it's usually called "inspired by" or "copy." No one is disputing that it has very clear and obvious veins of inspiration, but this is hardly anything new and something games have always done, you silly knobhead
>>
>>737104118
Other games don't rip others off so blatantly. These mechanics are stolen 1 for 1, they are identical to the games they stole from. It's the same with what happened with Genshin Impact. Blatant theft by Asian companies who don't give a shit

That a successful AAA game doesn't always have to be a slurper narrative driven game. Crimson desert has basically no coherent story but the gameplay makes up for it tenfold. There's actually shit to do in the world.

We can learn that making a good game means its going to be good. Making a bad game means its going to be bad.
When a game has:
Actual exploration
Some weird fucking sky puzzles that are impossible to solve without looking at a guide and half of your elemental move set locked behind them but the game not telling you this.
Even more exploration puzzles forcing you to visit various places to solve the initial puzzle.
GOOOOOOOOOD COMBAT
GOOOOOOOOOD GRAFIX
GOOOOOOOOOOD random shit to do farming/housing/ranching/camp management/seperate resoucres for camp management/sending your guys to build bridges/send your guys into wars/send your guys to do renovations for random shit which they do in real time and is kinda cool seeing them work like the slaves they are etc.
When the game has F U N combat which feels FUN.
FUNNY AUSTISTIC STRAIGHT WHITE MC
And when the game IS SO FUCKING HUGE SO FUCKING COOL. You know its going to be good.
Simple as

Kek the game wasn't even playable on intel gpu, controls were dogshit, the ign review was right. Games revisionism is crazy, these days Cyberpunk is considered a great game just because they patched it until it was playable.

>What can we learn from Crimson Desert's success?
That a game can sell without pandering to browns and AGP mentally ill subhumans who want to play dress up with their bimbo doll.
The white male protagonist should be the gold standard.
>>

>RDR2 invented maps?
The map style and icons are literally the same. They have giant question marks for discoverable stuff, exactly the same as Rockstar
>Not even going to comment on this one, what did you want? Press X to go walk forward and click R3 to turn left?
Yeah man they really had to steal mashing X to run faster, or make your horse run faster, or the exact same input delay for turning around, or holding X to pick up objects the exact same as RDR2
>RDR2 invented weighty animations?
Weird how you'd decide to have weighty animations in an action adventure game, suspiciously while copying various other elements from RDR2. Must be a coincidence that they both control the exact same way
>RDR2 invented trade goods? (Spoiler alert, they lifted this directly from BDO, which has had wagon trading for longer than RDR2 has been around.)
This is a complete lie. I'm talking specifically about selling wagons, not trading with wagons. The process to sell a wagon is identical
>lol, lmao even
why does an action adventure game require you to specifically pick up each individual item one at a time the exact same as RDR2
>Oh, I see I've been coaxed into a snafu
literally no defence for blatant theft
>Steal RDR2 hunting and compendium
>Halo invented FPS. Wait, wrong game.
same again, you have no defence for them ripping mechanics 1 to 1 from another game
>BOTW invented stamina?
No. Crimson Desert's system is identical. They can't put a single spin on it? They have to make it the exact same and slightly tweak the symbol?
>BOTW invented puzzles?
BOTW popularized physics based puzzles in an open world game, but regardless of that some of the puzzles are the exact same. pick up shape with physics gun and place shape in the right hole
>BOTW invented fucking PHYSICS?
BOTW and Half Life 2 don't have the same physics tools, they both operate different. Crimson Deserts operate identically to BOTW but with less variety funnily enough. Maybe they should have stole all of them

The game has many elements which are unremarkable if taken in their own right but which in complete combination with all others cohere miraculously and give a whole greater than the sum of the parts. If there’s a lesson then I suppose it’s don’t lose the forest for the trees.
