>Are you saying this schizo is the real terrorist?
>The guy who is constantly twitching and talking about explosives with an almost zealot like passion?
>The guy who would have access to a ton of unregistered bombs?
>The guy who’s very name is a pun for “Detonate”?
>Impossible! The real terrorist is obviously that hippie girl who don’t even know how a toaster works! Objection denied and penalty!

a way bigger issue with the fictitious courtroom format is the (mis)use of evidence to handle rising and falling action
it's all so rigid and protagonist must always be clawing at the slightest advantage to make the situation tense, but everything gets stale once it is repeated enough

>mixing up character quirks for the sake of characterization to entertain the audience with real, objectionable gestures and actions (e.g. lies, slips of the tongue, contradictions, threats)
>accusing a hardworking professional of misconduct without evidence
>picking on people's names in a mean-spirited manner
