i feel like i'm entitled to cash prize for managing to finish this game. ember and regill are the only reason i'm able to push through.
i just want every NPC to stop talking, accept death, give me the end credits already. make it stop.

This is funny, I was eyeing Kingmaker, looking at classes and thinking about what fun characters you could play. I can stomach some mouthy companions, though don't really care much about that.
Are these games really that bad with this shit? I'm currently playing PoE and enjoying how it's not about inpersonal drama and sex scenes.

its fun for the first 30hrs or so but once you get deeper into the mechanics and the story you realize it's crafted - almost on purpose it feels like - to be as tedious and time consuming as possible
as if they were purposefully aiming for some sort of absurd play time quota as part of their promise. i was looking at rogue trader and they are advertising 130 hrs of gameplay and my heart fucking sank because thats the game i wanted to play next.

This is simultaneously one of the most interesting RPGs I've played and one of the worst games of all time. I only feel compelled to go back and finish it because no other RPG has an entire story based around you ascending into a lich, dragon, devil, angel, living swarm etc. with branching paths based on which one you choose.

I loved it overall but it unironically took me almost a year of on and off playing to finish it. Crusade parts are a boring slog and frankly I hate PF as a system, I feel like I'm allergic to pre-buffing now.

I've been meaning to do an ultra modded extreme power fantasy Unfair difficulty run for a while now.
Start at a higher level, increase the level cap, do gestalt, enable archetype mixing (which is an actual thing in the TTRPG?), etc, but I can't quite think of what kind of character I'd like to play with so many possible combinations.
What are the bare minimum things you need for a regular successful Unfair run?

Archmage armor on every character without a mount.
A control caster with absurd caster level.
A bard or a skald , possibly both if you want to hit bosses with melee characters who can't attack touch ac.

Yeah, Vivisectionist is kind of like Scaled Fist in how many classes can dip into it. I'm still considering Two-Handed Fighter, but I imagine the buffs and the extra Sneak Attack damage are probably more worth it than the Fighter exclusive feats.

You're pretty close to correct on your gut feeling. I've played and beaten WotR (put 200 hours into it) and I gave up on RT in act 5. To be fair, I enjoyed both of them greatly, but man. They are not fucking around with game length.
I might just be too old for this shit.
