I feel like /v/ has this tendency to extract and take at face value every line of dialogue a game has, like no character is ever allowed to be wrong, or say something stupid and funny, no no no, everything must be a direct statement of the theme and must be treated with absolute seriousness like it's a Bible verse.

The Scarlet Crusader were initially meant to be good guys on the Alliance side, being moved to 'neutral hostile' because devs needed more content for both sides. This included a Scarlet style faction for Horde idr who it was. Thats one of the reasons Argent Dawn is Horde friendly.

No one is bitching about nuance, but rather about shit like this that pays lip service to the concept of nuance while being utterly retarded on its face. Mate, fucking look at what you're fighting here. Unholy flesh abominations built from the untold suffering of the innocents. By what fucking rationale does purging these unfortunate twisted creations that know nothing but slaughtering the living make you as bad as them? Even indulging the argument, in the extreme case of some paladin or whatever losing himself to this purpose and becoming a single-minded monster purging machine - that dude is STILL providing a massive net gain of goodness to the world. There is no "as bad as them", because you're not dealing with a nuanced enemy. The statement is about as fucking retarded as a doctor saying shit like "If I keep mindlessly curing cancer, I fear I will one day become as bad as cancer!"

What even is the conflict in World of Warcraft now.
Horde vs Alliance seems either dead, or completely anemic.
And the writers seem too afraid to make any race/faction related conflicts. Even in a world with demons, brain eating undead, cursed bloodlines, and werewolves— it feels like anything remotely "evil" has to be played completely safe, and approved by the company's consultancy team who all have degrees in basketweaving and nepotism.

I haven't followed the lore in a long time, but everything I hear seems to be either all about digging up old villains, or asspulling a new villain that was actually retroactively behind it all the entire time.

the biggest conflict in WoW is anything that is antidemocractic and racism and bigotry. they fix this by making sure all races are the same apart from the looks, have councils, and solve problems by being friends. anything else is just a salad dressing for that idea. that's california for you baby!

Excuse you, Chud! "war" is a trigger word which we DO NOT use in these threads.
Now go grab yourself a tranny flag and wave it like the rest of us. We have a pride parade to prepare for.

You really are a stupid fucking retard. I feel great pity for your parents, for the shame of having birthed such an uneducated mongrel will always outweigh the sobering existential dread experienced by everyone unfortunate enough to have the displeasure of knowing you.

There is none.
Lord METZEN himself said that calling it Warcraft was a mistake.
Honestly they should just change the name to World of Friendcraft.
It'd definitely bring in lots of new players.
