Franchise was ruined before RE4, lil zoomer.
That's why they decided to try a new thing, and while it was different, it revived it.
Same shit happened after RE6 killed the series for a few years and RE7 acted as a soft reboot.

>If only there was a stupid fucking stealth system, then the game would be more interesting!
Kill demake babbies who defend the moronic homogenization of games and art

This is even worse bait. OG RE4 combat shits on pragmata. The RE4 enemies are more threatening than the pragmata enemies and that's a fucking accomplishment. I don't care at all about the kid, I only care about gameplay. If pragmata had good gameplay I would be playing it right now. Unfortunately it's a baby game for casuals.

Oh yeah sure that's exactly what happened my underaged friend, no one liked OG4 and everyone wanted a remake the day after it was released. When all the industry was inspired by RE4, they just used the melange spice on the devs to give them prescience and predict what the remake would be like

It's not even as good as the combat in the original re4 from 2005
In the remake, the guns feel weak and lame and having a parry button is way too casual
But you won't admit it because you were filtered by the original

no anon, I don't mean every game has to be Minecraft creative mod I just ask for devs not tie players' hands for no reason. This game would play so much better if you could turn full 360 around you while aiming a gun. Every normal game has this option and for a good reason.

>for no reason
and they don't do it for no reason in re4
my issue isn't with you preferring greater control, i think the movement in the remake is fine in general. the issue is the absolutely pointless and arbitrary delay and inertia
>>
>>737111951
The delay and inertia makes movement more committal so you can't just dance around enemies and ignore them entirely like >>737111532 It serves a functional purpose, this isn't Red Dead realism animation cucking for cinematic wankery. It's a deliberate gameplay effecting design choice.

I agree it's not perfect (and Requiem is even worse) but it's still an improvement from the old game. And videos like this >>737110562 clearly don't show the full picture

The weapons only feel like shit in the early game imo.
The starting handgun and shotgun are fucking awful at base in remake, I hate it.
Once you get the riot shotgun and some upgrades in your chosen pistol guns feel fine.
Won't argue about the movement tho, I don't know what they were thinking.
>>
>>737112207
you're right about the committed movement, and i take back the "pointless" part of my post. but any type of delay when it comes to controls just feels bad. i don't mind being restricted (like with tank controls), but i really mind being arbitrarily delayed
and it wasn't nearly this bad in re2, which is a slower game focused on survival over action
