What's on VRChat? Also don't you have a general for this?
>>
>>737105937

I played this game a little bit. It was okay. Definitely p2w (hardwares) though

Why?

That's not that convincing. I don't want to pay some e-whore $20 an hour to rp with me
>>
>>737106771
you can pay $50 for an avatar and e-whore yourself
>>
>>737106870
I need more than 20 an hour sorry

I'm not really into ERPing with fat dudes

>spends money on full body tracking
>doesn't spend a single cent on face and eye tracking

I'm not a degenerate gay furry

Why?
>>
>>737105937
It's not a game and you don't play it. It's a degen VR chatting software

not as funny without the chuddie look and trenchcoat/weeb shirt/flipflops

Isnt eye tracking just built into most of the VR already?
>>
>>737111536
>most of the VR
zuck headsets don't support eye tracking and it's 90% of all headsets

Eye and face tracking is a whole lot more fucky to set up than FBT and get working properly.
>basically no consumer-grade headsets have eye tracking built in, it's all enterprise or enthusiast-grade hardware where the HMD alone will cost over a thousand dollars new - and basically nothing in production has built-in face tracking, meaning you need to DiY the setup or buy third party solutions
>model has to be compatable with face tracking in the first place, and making an avatar compatible with face tracking is an extremely time-consuming and tedious process - so you either spend days in the blender mines crafting your own custom solution, or hope someone has made and is selling a prefab for your model
>even then, the execution can be jank as fuck if you have an unusual face shape, have bad room lighting, mess up the calibration, or even just be outright non-functional if you have thick facial hair

Meanwhile full-body-tracking just latches on to the universal skeletion that all models have and doesn't require effectively a bespoke solution per-model.

I have a Quest Pro I picked up second hand unused and it has both eye and face tracking without any extra setup other than VRCFaceTracking and Virtual Desktop.
>>

The Quest Pro was discontinued about two years ago and the number of viable units out there in the wild is steadily decreasing as time passes. Nothing has come forth to take its place as an all-in-one package.

Eye Tracking is on the rise because it has more broad applications in VR (Foveated Rendering namely, which is where the resolution of the display is dynamically adjusted based on where your gaze is focused). But face tracking is a hyper-niche that basically only has three applications:
>Social VR (so practically just VRChat)
>VTubing
>Rotoscoping (not really relevant to VR I guess)

This.

I still don't have a headset. Sorry.
>>
>>737106641
Source for this model? Searching DrHarkness doesn't bring up anything related to this on his profiles, and I couldn't find anything after a quick search on booth.pm.

I have groomed myself into being a vrchat gooner within a month.
The pipeline is real
I don't regret shit though

vrchat is a nightmare for schizotypal people or anyone else with a condition that makes socializing very difficult. I usually just end up standing there not saying anything. I went to one of those 4chan meetups and someone made a webm timelapse of me just standing there for 2 hours while people walked around and socialized and I got bullied heavily for it. never went back since then.
