What's sad to me is that HAL could have expanded the lore within it's own setting instead of adding random bullshit like LE ANCIENT CIVILIZATION or locking stories behind wall of text. I want to see more of Dreamland, Meta Knights, the entire planet Popstar and it's people. The anime did a great job at expanding it's setting while doing it's own thing. Most of the time it's OCs feels like they belong in the games (Esgargoon).
