Finished Time Stranger finally, got a couple questions

What actually happens if you approach the final boss without the Royal Knights quests done? Is it a bad end or just the boss straight up repels you and the game says "go do side quests lol"? I did them because I wanted a bit more time with the game anyway.
I remember hearing that Kyoko shows up in the late game but I never saw her. I did every quest except the collectible ones at the very end, I think.
I'm a little confused about how Jupitermon (presumably just containing Aegiomon instead of you as well), shows up in the post-credits. If he isn't locked to some subspace serving as the keeper of time why can't he just visit Inori?
Were that one Agumon and Gabumon meant to be the same ones Nokia knew? If so, how does this line up with Cyber Sleuths events, since those never get mentioned like at all.

All that said, I really liked the game. The second half gets really aggressive with reusing locations which is a shame, but it's a flaw the original game had too, so I can live with it. Will definitely look back on it fondly.

That's what the game tries to convince you is true, but it's a Star Trek teleporter situation or a SOMA coin flip situation. The real Erika is dead from her disease and a copy of her is stored in the memory server which Wormmon accesses. Even in her unique situation where she's been uploading her memories for a year or two it's just a copy of her, not the actual her. The one that constantly gets overloaded by memories is the real her.

You were legitimately not following the story at all. If this was the case, then there was zero reason to care about regaining Erika with her memories because her server still remained intact. You decide to reconnect her with the server because you want YOUR Erika back. This maintain even when Hudiemon is given form because Erika's server is still running. The Erika you know is still connected to the Eater. This only changes after you kill her and the server goes down with her. The projection you see in the end is Hudiemon displaying Erika and Wormmon for Keisuke's sake because he never dropped that form. Hudiemon made the decision to delete Erika's existence because it was independent from the Eaters so without Eden she'd just die and her story ends there. Legitimately rewatch the events right after you kill Erika and Hudiemon's initial attempt to explain what happened.

A background character with a witchmon in hunters, Jellymon that was basically in a relationship with her partner, and Elizamon that has this chase card made implying she wants to fuck her partner too.

In the case of the anime, especially Adventure, the digidestined can trigger temporary evolutions thanks to their digivices. They convert emotion/will/whatever into energy to power up their Digimon partners. Without that, a lone Digimon can evolve Pokemon-style, where it is a permanent or semi-permanent upgrade, but it takes time and effort to achieve.
However, the rules of digivolution in general are pretty loose, and subject to change with each continuity or even as plot demands.

That's what most media ends up trying to depict because it's the "canon".
Temporary evolutions are mostly an anime thing to save on animating the digimon and to have stock footage to pad out air time. Which is why Survive did this, since its emulating the anime, and adventure PSP did it since that's just a playable version of the anime.
Do not confuse constraints of a medium with the wider franchise.
