How do you actually quit playing an addictive or life destroying game? Uninstall it and never even watch others play it?

Yes.
The trick to giving something up is you need to either
>get mad about what it is and what it does to you, even though you like it
or
>really want to not do it any more
so either get mad at the game or get mad at the people who make it shit
it is OK to like what the game was so long as you admit you are chasing the dragon but will never catch it
you love how you felt when you first played it
you want how it made you feel before the SHIT was revealed
realise this and get MAD you got tricked
get PISSED and quit out of spiteand remind yourself they NEVER improve every time a friend says "hey the latest banner is good tho

I quit GBF after spending$1000on it overall. I was worried that it would be the wrong thing to do but I realized it would go on forever and life is worth more. There were times I was in the Top 10k players and it was fun so I was satisfied and left.
tl;dr achieve some kind of a fun goal for this game that's reachable for you and then you can leave it satisfied.

I usually get bored of a videogame after a while. If you keep playing when ur not having fun than u need more hobbies. For me its guitar and lit. But then again I dont play any competitive multi-player games because I think most people take them too seriously.

I actually enjoy Warframe’s gameplay but I despise leveling, forma-ing, and pretty much any sort of forced prestige/re-level mechanics in any game so I dropped it.
At the very least they should let us save builds in game and auto reinstall mods when you have space again so I don’t have to take a fucking picture of my build every time I forma something.

>350 hours
Anon that's genuinely rookie numbers. I've clocked ~4000 over the past 5-6 years and I'm on the more conservative side (usually only getting on for 3-5 hour sessions a couple of times a week at most).

Depending on your game, you intentionally get permanently banned and then all subsequent accounts you inevitably create whenever you get the itch get banned for ban evading.
After twenty or so accounts you will give up.

yeah pretty much.
when Team fortress 2 had that terrible ass matchmaking update I jsut sold all my items and moved on.
When my dad switched to a shitty internet provider I simply stopped playing dota2 or any online MP game at all.
When I got so mad I sucked at a fighting game to the point of anger I just stopped playing it as well.
Same thing happened to deadlock recently but I might actually go back to it after the game actually releases for real.

Ive been playing sea of thieves since day 1 as a solo sloop and with every passing update i have at least a few sessions where im completely miserable by the end. If i want less randoms starting shit for no reason should i play Arc Raiders or is it getting bad there too?

Unironically just go cold turkey on it and drop it then see how much happier you become without it. I did this with Honkai Impact 3rd and my life suddenly became happier. Then I started another gacha and became miserable again

TF2 was the game that constantly plagued my life. One day I finally realized I wasn't enjoying the game after looking through countless screenshots and recordings of me getting shitstomped for thousands upon thousands of hours and realizing I have never had fun with the game. Immediately sold my entire inventory, uninstalled the game, and never looked back.
Sometimes I get tempted to return on the occasion I watch animations like those made by StBlackSt, but I just remind myself that nothing is going to change and it's usually enough to stop myself. Still, that's 6,000 hours of my life I'm never getting back, and it's my biggest regret in life. Fuck Team Fortress 2.

I just could never have fun with it. No matter what I did, what class I picked, what weapons I used, what maps I played, nothing was fun when I would just get dominated and spawn camped by Soldierfags and Demo mains. I kept trying and trying and trying to find the fun in the game that everyone else has with no effort, but I couldn't find it. Everyone has a limit and I hit mine finally.

>gacha stuff at the bottom
The whole point of doing things like clearing out event shops in gachas is so that when you pull a new character you can have them basically maxed out immediately, or at least that's why I do it. Though usually only enough for one character, after which I then spend all of my stamina on the resource that's the most hard to acquire in whatever game I'm playing. Unless there's a new event or story content, I'll very rarely spend more than 15 minutes a day auto battling in the one gacha I'm playing right now, which is kind of freeing, at least compared to before when I was playing a gacha that required me to login 3 times to day to prevent a cap on resources and the resource missions I was grinding had no auto or skip option

Am I talking to a newfaggot? It filters most of /v/ because most of the posts are nothing about complains.
Complains about the meta, the team, the learning curve. Meanwhile I've been playing DotA since 2005 (quit at 2017 because of life responsibilities) and never had this problem, sure it can get stressful but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe it's your autism that prevents you from having fun at the game.
If you're interested, my highest rank before I quit was 4.8K mmr, that was during 2017 so I don't know how it translate to today.
You're bad, don't ever strawman posts on this board ever again, you don't know shit.

Think about everything else you could realistically do and ask yourself if it would be more worthwhile, this includes playing other games, watching a movie, jerking off, etc. Once you get that answer it should make quitting easier.

I'm the type of person who likes to see and do everything in a game so I can get super addicted to an "endless" game like WoW or Runescape but once I hit the point where I feel like I've done everything I want to do I can quit cold turkey no problem. I actually played a WotLK private server last year so eh but I haven't touched OSRS in like 10 years because I did basically all the original content and I don't give a shit about any of the new shit.

Same. Pure miracle I guess. I manage to hop off at 1000 hours. Whenever I can't fight the urge and end up back on it, I quickly get overwhelmed by all the new content and changes and uninstall. I don't want to be bullied for having 1000 hours and playing like a fucking retard.

Overwatch. I got so violently roasted by my team for playing the wrong character and reported when I got tilt that I started crying and deleted all the files in rage and just sobbed on the couch for 30 minutes. I stopped playing anything competitive after that point, I mentally can’t handle losing, and I get ugly when I compete with others. Tried again with Pokemon cards a few years later and cussed out some people, sold my cards and never looked back a month later.
