Disco Elysium is legit top 10 most overrated games ever.

Game has garbage gameplay, shallow level design, incredibly boring rpg elements, incredibly shitty choice and consequence system, horrible faction/political system, wasted potential skill tree, ugly art style, forgettable music and uninteresting side quests.

Its not even well written, the only good writing the game had was its worldbuilding, because the story was mediocre and its ending was just a bunch of unrewarding horseshit.

Its a fan favorite of larp bluesky users, but ask them whats good about it and you get nothing but wall of text gibberish on muh feelz

It's one of the only RPGs where the game responds to all of your stats appropriately low or high instead of just locking out dialogue options for low stats. There is a real incentive to make a character with very low stats in one category and high in another, while in most rpgs characters with high stats just get to experience more. In that regard it's more of a true rpg than most because it feels like being at a table playing DnD where the DM can make something up if the orc with no charisma says, "I want to sing a song". In most rpgs the option would be greyed out or not shown but in Disco you can fail spectacularly because the author accounted for you having 1 in a stat.
