Buffing in combat is unironically the correct way to play. Making it part of the action economy is more fun, and the buffs still last after battle. Plus it makes you decide what you actually need, and makes you prioritize initiative and approaching situations carefully when possible.

Well, I finally killed the brute, but I'm not sure if that's because of my skill or ability. Feels more like I just kept loading the quicksave until I got better attack rolls.
>>563752235
No wizards in the Shield Maze. Camellia killed Aravashnial.

>>563753576
Hover over attack rolls, damage rolls, or whatever to see what contributes if you think you're getting walloped excessively.
There are many things that might not be obvious to new players. Things like limit to the dex bonus to AC with armor, flanking and being flanked, encumbrance, many small things.
Also really, use your potion and scroll buffs when you need to. They don't scale so they'll only become less effective the longer you hold them, and later ones unless they're higher level (they almost never are) are complete trash not worth picking up often.
Though also, it is true that the early game can be quite difficult. A few bad rolls can take you out, where there's more room for error later as you level, have more hp, and more options for your characters.

that one anon who showed off Kenshi like a month ago got me to buy the game.
>>

>>563753624
I feel you, anon. When I try using toybox to cheat through the fights the entire game loses meaning, so I'm stuck between the most boring samey pre-buff dungeon crawling or trivializing the game to the point I don't want to play it with no fun middle ground.
Most controversially for /crpgg/, the story and characters are not good enough on their own to carry WotR as just a VN experience. I like Cammers as much as the rest of you but its just not enough.

It can play like an RPG or an RTS, depending on what you do and how many guys you get in your party. There's no story in the conventional sense, but there's skills and attributes and equipment.
>>
>>563754853
Your gun stuff is 30%+ ballistics skill, he's never gonna hit anything unless you make him an arch-militant
Also dual-wielding gives you a -20% to hit with your offhand's attack (remove it by giving the person jae's gunslinger feat with toybox, fuck owlcrap)
>>
>>
>>563754853
>inferno pistol?
Act 2 I think unless you pick the heretic option in act 1.Don't bother using inferno pistols or meltas, they are the worst weapons in the game and get no support that makes them worthwhile. You are better off using any other type of weapon.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563755257
Inferno pistols are ok for sword and pistol builds actually, since they so such high damage in a single shot and you're always hitting twice with navy officer automatically, and the automatic attack uses the single-fire option by default
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563754853
>>563755106
Nevermind I just tested it and the FAGGOTS at owlcrap fixed jae's talent, it gives the -20% like normal now
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>563755898
>You are still better off using foehammers or laspistols
With navy officer you're not, with confident approach you're doing
Melee+shoot
Melee+shoot
Melee+shoot
If you're not a navy officer then yeah but navy officers attack with both weapons when you crit, so you don't really get a good situation to use burst-fire and the like
>>
wife
>>
>>563755898
Actually I realized I'm mistaken, you get to attack in melee only twice, you need to lead with your pistol once because of how dual-wielding works... maybe because of how strong burst-fire is the math works ou in favor of it yeah but I'd have to test it, dunno
I imagine it's close though since besides like 2 guns in the whole game you'd only get to burst-fire once

It's a common reaction among waifufags.
They pick one that they adore as completly loyal (Wenduag in Darker's case), and portray others as cheating hussies.
Is it some way to indulge in adultery fetish, or simply way to mock female characters and people who like them? I can't tell, too sawyer-pilled to really bother with matters like that

You probably already started, but I wasn't really a big fan of them. My suggestion for a first pillars run is either Cipher because it's thematic and you don't meet one until a bit into the game. Also the paladin companion is pretty cool.
If you already started playing, how are you liking it? Any questions?

The idea of someone being good or bad at a game that is decided by random dice rolls is really laughable. And the entire idea that being good or bad at games even matters is something that comes from Fromslop roll shitters, a notoriously obnoxious group that has done more to ruin gaming discourse on 4chan than even resetera.

Heh, let me stop you right there, kid. If what you're looking for is some "clean cut" morality within factions or races, well best keep on lookin' cuz ya ain't gonna find it here. WarHammer: 40,000 will take every single expectation you have and completely subvert it.
It's a little something I like to call "morally gray".
First of all this is the 41st Millennium, let that just sink in a minute ;) Here everyone just does what they gotta do to survive, period. It's considered "Grimdark" for a reason: Equal parts grim and dark.

That would be 1 in 160,000 if they were sequential rolls, unlikely but not impossible especially given how many rolls a person makes over the course of playing the game. Also though, I'm sure there were other rolls between these 4 that you remember so this is even less unlikely.

This thing has one wisdom and 9 will
And you can use the grandmasters rod to bypass its immunity to instakill it with phantasmal putrification no buffs needed
Ice body ignores its stun and should be on every caster by default due to how useful it is in general
Pit spells work on it I believe despite it being immune to prone so a rift of ruin is guaranteed to land even with terrible dc
It’s touch ac is 7
50 is irrelevant here too
Does shield of law work here too? In that case it’a a chump

I only just started and ended up going for a paladin. I ended up chucking my weapon to save one of the starting companionsonly for him to die anyway after the weird ritual the cultist dudes were doing. Now I've become a schizo seeing shit which is fun.I keep trying to use WASD to move the camera because of muscle memory which is slightly annoying. Is it a me thing if I don't feel very invested or interested in the story right now? Does it pick up later? Usually I'm quickly drawn in to whatever CRPG I play but here I feel like I have ADHD.
>>
>>563754183
It’s 1 minute for each map at most to apply every useful buff possible
And 10 to apply 1 round per level buffs before a particularly hard fight which you can then use to clear out multiple fights if you are efficient

>>
>>563772582
I've heard that complaint. I didn't feel so myself, but I think it's common enough. You don't really know what's going on and are just sort of wandering around right now anyhow. It'll start to become a bit more clear, but you basically don't REALLY figure out what's going on until quite late in the game. A bit of weird pacing as the "BBEG" isn't really apparent for the most part.
Oh, in case you didn't know, the gold-plated NPCs are written by backers, and most are dogshit and none have anything to do with the story at all. Skip them entirely.

How do you want to complete it? There's multiple ways, if you go to Footfall undercover you can pretend to be Fidelio, you get 'tricked' by one of the NPCs near the crematorium to go in. You escape the trap and go through the sewers to come back, once your back gun down everyone and enjoy your +5 PF. If you want advice on the fight itself post your builds or what you are struggling with.

Pretty horrendously bad, download the operative buff or the operative overhaul mods on nexus to make it less horrendously bad
Owlcrap can't make games at all, enemies are spongy and burst-fire is stupidly overpowered, single-attack builds have a lot of issues
On normal the game is trivial tho, this is from an unfair perspective where it's also trivial but some stuff shines more than others

Incredibly strong if you build the party around them
Incredibly useless otherwise
Like 60% of the fights are "here are 20 low health mooks" where your sniper is useless, 20% are "here are 15 low health mooks and 5 high HP enemies that will never be in the same spot of the map", 20% are "here's a high HP enemy and 5 low hp mooks"
I'm enjoying my sniper, but I KNOW the fights would be easier if I just built a chain lightning psyker or some shit

holy shit what a throwback. I remember just how fucking bloated my save files were because I had a save before every lewd event in the entire campaign as well as a dozen or so unrelated filler saves to shove all the rest down the list so they weren't immediately visible to anyone else loading a game because it was a shared computer at the time. in retrospect I can't believe what an anomaly its existence even is, and I don't think we'll ever see something similar happen ever again;
some german chick who barely plays video games tries out NWN and decides to use it as a medium for her own personal fantasy smut writing and the only reason its out here on the internet is because her friend told her that other people might enjoy it too, implying that all of the effort to learn how to script in that engine and all of the time spent creating and writing one of the longest, well written (compared to other fan campaigns), and in-depth adventures in NWN history was truly just for her own gratification.
Just imagine how much lost media there is today now that gooners are becoming increasingly atomized.

If you just go through the sewers you can trigger the fight without being ambushed, letting you position all your guys in the hallway outside the venue without line of sight to any of the enemies. Then you pick them off as they round the corner.
>b-but what if I don't wanna go through the sewers
Then I guess you have to deal with the ambush. What are you gonna do, cry about it?

Nobody goes into it for anything other than the porn, but it's like that stupid fucking meme that I'm ashamed to even quote; "came for the porn, stayed for the story"
and you can't even talk about it or share it with anyone else so that they can appreciate the sheer amount of effort and nuances and details and care put into every aspect of it -- not just the porn -- because at the end of the day, you're right, it is explicitly intended to serve as wank material for a female audience.

Starting with all my characters as close to the casket as possible it really is quite hard, mostly because they die before their turns start, I can kill most guests but the big HP guys stay up (I kill them by running out of the party and filling the chokepoint with grenades, same way I deal with the hammer guy in footfall on unfair)
I'll try the "1 guy in the open to start the fight and everyone else in position" cheese

They’re Rosarius/Iron Halos. Essentially the same thing for different imperial branches. A badge or amulet, or armor ornamentation that serve as a badge of office or an award for some notable feat. Commonly they’ll have some kind of defensive shield generator inside (refractor field, conversion field, displacer field). It has no specific connection to being a rogue trader and is more likely to either be connected to their old life or simply be worn for its protective utility since the RT is an important high status individual. Psykers often do not have them because they’ll rely on their powers for protection.

Just like her portrait oversells her supposed beauty it undersells the scar. From the description we get it's supposed to be a huge deep gash running from the top of her head across her entire face. Also it's less of a scar and more of a curse from a butthurt lesbo goddess.

Instructions to what? I'm not the anon who was generating slop today or even this week. I generated slop like two months ago and I do it with Stable Diffusion (guides are extremely easy to find on /g/) not with whatever online service these anons use.
If you want some tips to generate good content the answer is to use LoRAs, use controlnet with existing art/poses as a base, and have at least a little bit of artistic background so that you're not just mindlessly generating until something looks good but trying to reach a specific goal outcome.

The answer is AOE damage. There are tons of options for that. I mostly don’t mind swarms since generally they just mean you need to switch up your positioning/target priority/ability use. There’s something to be said for that “oh shit a swarm” feeling. Mandragora Swarms suck ass to deal with though. Fuck those guys. At minimum just a stupid Restoration tax.

This is handled way better in the ttrpg, since you can straight up prevent her scarring (and telling Shelyn to suck it), and the scar occurs due to her putting her pride aside and chosing to help the people she despise (if you let that happen).

Skill issue
But yeah, the placement of encounters sucks in that game. I enjoyed the combat on replay but it's like someone mandated every 10 meters there must be combat. When I replayed I had already accepted this so it wasn't as bad, and I did still enjoy the actual combat, but it is something they improved in Deadfire.
But also, skill issue. Scout first before running in.

I once DM’d a low level 3.5 encounter with the party vs semi-sapient wolves who would specifically trip someone and then go to drag them back to their nest
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person get more mad than the wizard the fifth time he was tripped
Anyway git gud and form a defensive line while your casters focus fire (or mass AoE if they have the damage to kill them in one round)

There's another companion in the town. And if you venture out, you could pick up more, though I'd at least bring in the other companion from town. You have to trigger a thing. There is a soft mechanic to stop him getting rushed which is Engagement, so you get free hits on anyone leaving your engagement. Later also there are things like being able to swap places or drag an enemy over, especially with Fighterwhich is the other town companion
Also, it's not a terrible idea to hire a merc early on. Later on they'll even have a use outside your party, and they're cheap.
>>
>>
>>563787291
Like Alchemists they break the rules and allow you to cast self only buffs on party members. And they have bigger and better buffs to share. Take high level spells designed to buff up a weak wizard and slap them on all your melee dudes and it’s going to be powerful. That said it’s not really all that fun unless pre-buffing stats is your absolute favorite part of Pathfinder.

It's not going anywhere anon. As we speak, they are updating the game to directx12 up from directx9 to ensure future compatibility with third party technology. You don't invest in major backend updates if the game is on thin ice. In 2019 they posted their one billionth dollar to shareholders, and EA said they "love" the game and that it is a "steady earner". It's literally not going anywhere if you look at what EA is actually saying to shareholders and the work they're doing to update the game.

Its interesting how a decent MMO could be made and even maintained for relatively cheap if only there wasn't a huge era where every company wanted to compete with WoW.
Everquest still has over 80k players according to wikipedia, and Eve Online shows regular peaks of 10k players on steam even still (which is likely higher accounting for non-steam users). These numbers only look low by comparison.

Some/many MMOs these days aren't crpgs. Apparantly Warframe is considered a fucking MMO and its definitely not.
But classic MMOs like SWtOR are definitely crpgs. But I think it should only count if it has a narrative focus which few mmos besides SWtOR have.
Secret World should also count as a crpg in the same vein as Bloodlines.

>Neither of them were warriors. For Trazyn, the dust of the archive was more familiar than that of the parade ground, and Orikan had spent aeons training his mind and neglecting his body. Had this duel occured during the Flesh Times, it would have been comical. Two withered ancients, rangy, round-shouldered, stained with ink and smelling of incense tearing at each other with barely the strength to bruise. But biotransference had, for all it's horrors, made every necron an armoured juggernaut. The two swung at each other, filling the gallery with the sounds of the forge. They locked weapons, shoved and bashed their plated skulls like horned beasts.

>>
>>
>>563792610
Mages are tanky in Tyranny though. And outside of two points in the early game, the fight over the bridge (echohall crossing), and the first fight in the siege of the mountain hall if you side with the Rebels, you backline won’t even be focused. In these fights your backline might be focused by archers and killed, but wounds aren’t a big deal
Just give them heavy armor if you want the enemy AI to ignore them. They don’t even suffer a penalty to spellcasting speed and recovery from doing so, only from wearing a shield. Recovery speed only applies to weapons and such
Bot to mention that spectral blur, mirror image, and leather armor and self-healing can make mages tanky. You can also give them some aoe cc

there is no need for Argenta romance. It's unnecessary and pointless.
You have majestic Fish Lady Cassia, the cutest woman in gaming history who can melt your heart with just her lovely voice alone.
You have the queen of goth girls, Mistress Kibellah, whose loyalty is unmatched, just as her ability to cut through the heart of her Domin, if you know what i mean.
You have the sexiest cold trader with the sexiest haircut, Jae Heydari The Busty, who could up your spirits despite having metal body parts.
Why would you choose Argenta when you have these? Just... why? I mean, i did have a thought of romancing Argenta at first, but then i met Cassia, then Kibellah, then Jae, and that's it. Argenta was out of the question.

I was talking about the early game yeah. Dropped because the game only give you squish companions and I wanted to play the power fantasy of being an evil wizard. Couldn't do those 7 x 4 early trash encounters, just jobbing without recourse

Void Shadows and Lex do this, spread across the main game and companions are more fleshed out and reactive than Pillars
Even some base game quests and encounters were altered for DLC content such as Abelard's first quest for Void Shadows, two battle sequences on Rykard Minoris and the governor if you have Lex etc.

Kek the retard here is you mate, you made a bullshit claim that Pillars DLC is better because "you get new companions and it's actually integrated in the main game itself" and only one Wotr dlc tried this
I pointed out that Void Shadows and Lex do this much better making changes to main game
And your response was nuh uh that doesn't count cause I didn't play it lmao

One thing I really enjoy about trader of rogues' opening sequence is all the NPCs fighting in unreachable areas, it makes things feel alive
Like how in spartan total warrior you almost always have mooks with you fighting the enemy as well, or how in deadspace 2's opening you're not the only one trying to survive the start of the game's outbreak
I love having cool and cute little NPCs in the universe with me
>>
I give my characters melta weapon proficiency because meltaguns are just repurposed construction and salvaging equipment so they're not rare enough to need "special training" like plasma is
A random guy could've handled a melta before
>>
>>
>>563836501
Yeah they're militarized mining and salvaging equipment, they're used to cut through spaceship hulls and shit, they're only not more widespread because they're inherently shortrange, it's like a giant blowtorch gun, it's a combat servitor because it's equipped with weapons, as opposed to regular servitor, combat servitors are mobile weapons platforms.

Think of it less like that and more like how the war scythe was born out of taking a regular wheat-harvesting scythe and making it more fit for killing people.
They're not the exact same but it's the same technology.

I wish Devil was an option from the get go and not an Act 5 thing, playing through Aeon just to turn around and start tricking people into signing contracts feels a bit weird (I'd imagine Azata - Devil is even more of a whiplash though). Fun path though.

The trickster grand trick "knowledge world rank 3" is supposed to let you and your team ignore prerequisites for feats
And yet it doesn't actually let me do so, pic related
I've checked on multiple characters and I've also tried clicking on the feats to select them despite the text and it doesn't work.
Does anyone know what is going and if it's possible to fix it? Because otherwise I've wasted a big part of my mythic progression.
I'm level 18 so these are technically speaking "bonus feats". That might have something to do with it. But it's weird because you can take trickster feats from perception 2 with these bonus feats so they seem to be treated as normal by the game

I liked the morale aspect in the cult fight where you had to keep changing the jukebox to play hymns glorifying the Emperor, and head cultist would use his remote on his turn to switch it back to chaotic chants
>>
>>563843036
It was a surprisingly tough fight
imo it also showed how much more dangerous fire is in Dark Heresy, especially if you want to use Saro, since one of his best spells (Flameweaver or something) applies the DoTs damage and increases the amount of the "On Fire" status to everyone who's burning, which includes your allies

I want to be pretty. I want to be in love. I want a guy to be crazily in love with me and I, with him. I want to fuck at least 2 times a week, sometimes slow, sometimes rough. I want to cuddle, I want to touch human skin. I want to rub my hands around my man's back, run my fingers through his hair and squish his butt. I want to be on my knees, give him a bj and make him feel like god. I want to give him kisses, i want to be spooned by him. I want to be all sexy, cute and naughty for him. I want to tell him that I like him, that I love him. That's what I really want.
>>
>>563843608
>Fights are way more interesting than they were in RT
Most definitely
I also found it quite difficult to use Saro at times due to needing to avoid hitting allies with his spells. I wonder if any gun would be decent for him

All your companions HATE your trickster powers huh
Literally everyone except Wenduag, Daeren, and Camelia
I didn’t know they were all metagamers who knew that going trickster into legend is the strongest possible build
Very clever of them

yes, clearly.
it is very apparent they didn't have any issues including sexualized characters/factions in Fantasy but they are very adamant on everyone being ugly and sexless in 40k despite not having some sort of mass vatbaby program implemented

>3.5e multibrappin
Gets to make cool diverse builds, prestige classes exist to tie it all together
>multishatting in 5e
You trade your late stage class features for................................................................... .................... early stage class features of other classes I guess
That's why 3 levels in CHUD warlock is the optimal multiclass because you get CHA to hit/damage and you get short-rest spellslots for utility, for paladins you can even use them as smite fodder
god I hate 5e like you wouldn't BELEIVE

Valeria definetly has never shaved in her life
Camelia is unlikely to have one
I don't know if succubi can grow those but if they can then whatsherface has also never shaved
Jaethal's dead
The twins might shave or might not but I doubt they leave it completely unshaven
Aeldari don't grow bodyhair I think
Kibellah wears bodysuits so she shaves
Tossup on Idira, she has short hair so she might shave too
Argenta wears a skinsuit under her armor so she probably also shaves
