Is longbow just trash on everything, I swapped from hammer to longbow on my soulbeast to try an archer type of ranger and it just sucks dicks for anything that doesn't die from one rapid fire volley. The aoe rain of arrows also doesn't clear up trash very well + animation locks, the 3 skill is useless in pve, and the 4 skill sucks for when you're in a group fighting something with no defiance bar.

The weapon I really wish was good is Rifle Warrior.

The idea of being a rifle warrior really vibes with me but every MMO falls into the trap where using bows and rifles is the opposite of a martial discipline. Bows especially, where in real life longbows are used by big dudes with huge chests who can pull the biggest weight and in video games they are used by 70lb anime girls exclusively. Ranged weapons as a martial discipline don't exist in MOST MMOs which is kind of crazy. I suppose now adays WOW has Marksmanship Hunter but its still heavily flavored off of the whole "wild" aesthetic, unlike warrior.

femcharr and fnorn look aesthetically pleasing in barrage cast mode. i lean more towards the femcharr because she's comfy and fluffy, but the femnorn play the part well and you don't have to worry about anyone side-eyeing you for YJK memes.

the gacha present in the game is acceptable. if you want the new shiny thing you pay the highest price, as time passes items are added to the legacy section and get reduced costs.
keyfarms as you mentioned are probably one of the lowest effort to reward payouts in a "gacha game".
even the mtx present in the game are pretty darn good. the industry gold standard worlo charges 30 to 80 dollars for its mount packages, and 20+ dollars for outfits. the other industry darling, final fantasy xiv has outfits and mounts costing close to 40 dollars as well.
most of the purchases i remember in dead f2p fomo p2w wars 2 are around the "fuck it, it's 5 dollars" range.
i'm probably attempting to engage in conversation with someone that has no intentions of speaking in good faith but fuck it why not.

The difference is, FFXIV has tons of mounts obtainable in game. Far more than you can buy.
For a long time, 100% of GW2's mount skins were paid. Now there are like, 10 you can get outside of that.

yeah, they really need to add more carrots. mounts, outfits, capes, etc that have grinds to entice people to play the game more. the other big flaw i'd say is the scummy marketing for new players. that 20 dollar "deal" for new players they added recently in particular.

i'd also say the dragon saga package can be a bit of a problem. the average person would most likely want to just buy the hot+pof combo to give the game a try rather than go full send into all the dlc. there's no way to know that you're missing out on that deal for good and that buying the other expansions afterwards will be more expensive without a good deal of research, which a consumer shouldn't need to do, ideally.
