In SoC there is a PDA entry about a failed military operation that happened sometime in 2011 in which over a thousand people were involved but it failed for some unknown reason. If we assume that something turned at least half of these soldiers into snorks then their number in the trilogy can be explained. No idea about S2 since it happens a decade after but it's not canon anyway.

Emissions don't cause mutations, they are always lethal. The thing about snorks is that while the fact that they all look exactly the same is obviously a technical restriction like in the case of all other mutants, they are still supposed to be all wearing this specific kind of gas mask and military uniforms lore-wise. The remaining half of Pripyat (first trailer radio guy scene), Khorogod (Behind the Duga Radar), the Brain Scorcher, and the rest we already expect will all show up in DLC 1 because of the radio thematic we got with the trailer. Khorogod will also have X-2 in there, as well as Doctor's actual home which we see the scene of in one of the endings already, at least according to the leaked map.

Going by this logic, North(West) of Pripyat, another village beyond it, the entire right side of Cold Island (Includes an X-Lab, previously labeled as X-6, as well as frozen ships), it's Northern limits (including some huge spacial Anomaly?) and the Sandy Plateau Region will be in DLC2. That last one is supposed to be the planned Distric 6 with nothing on it, but the leaks suggest something huge built under it like some sort of important foundational building. My random guess is that it's probably related to either the X-Network, the Board or the "Center of the Zone" where the Heart of Chornobyl was first found by Strelok.

They were also hinting at boat travel, so I'm expecting us to reach the Sandy Plateau via boat from the newer part of Pripyat or something.

Honestly I've played far enough games to realize that SOC's is above average. It can fries on spot and act like shit but most of the time enemies actually react to my positioning, if I try to change peeking spot they'll either reposition or close the distance and try to flank me, they really managed to make the gunfight feel engaging.
It's pretty easy to cherry pick videos where a game look bad, especially janky games. When SoC shines, it really does though.

I've only played up to Agroprom and here's what I've noticed so far.
The UI minimap is somewhat confusing now, as they made it height-sensitive. So if an NPC or a stash is located an inch above or below you, it won't show up on the minimap.
NPC now offer sidequests randomly instead of in set order. For example, in the original you could only get the quest for the Trophy AK after you've completed all other Loner quests at Cordon, while in EE it was the first quest I got.
The Faction war seems even more broken. Started it for Loners, who already controlled the south of Garbage, but for some reason the game wouldn't register the "gain foothold at Garbage" objective as completed and refused to give any further quests. Don't know if other factions are just as broken.
They fixed the bug with Drifter and Hound at Cordon not giving stash info (one of which is a flesh-drive for a technician), so there's that, at least.
Also, from what I can see, they fixed the infinite money glitch. Bandit robberies now just drop your balance to 0 even when you've got negative money, instead of making it overflow into ten-figure amounts as before.
Other than that, it doesn't seem too different from the original.
