Kids today are so lucky to have electronics that have a screen you can actually see outside
I had a ds and it had no good games and you couldn't see the screen outside
But I guess it was still better than the trash nintendo released in the 90s where you needed to carry a flashlight and AA batteries to see the screen

Im pretty sure the original DS had a backlit screen, if not then damn. At the risk of sounding old i will agree that they have it so good in comparison. Having streetlights help with putting some light on the screen on those rides back home was quite the experience but not something i'd ever want to get back to.

The DS did have a backlit screen but I seriously remember it was still unusable in the sun
I would test it but I have no idea where my DS is
I do however have a PSP and I can tell you that even on the highest setting you cannot see shit unless its dark out
>>
>>569187250
actually now that I think about it we only really got good portable screens recently
You have to be on the surface of the sun to see the screen on a game boy colour because it was unusable in the dark and then the greatest handheld of all time the PSP came out and it had a backlit screen but it was useless outside when it was sunny

>>569187250
>>569187886
Since im a pokenerd i can safely say that DS Lite and later have pretty good backlit screens. GBA SP was pretty primitive but did the job well enough to not need the power of the sun like you mention. I also happen to own a PSP as well and it had a pretty well lit screen indeed. Emulating Fire Red on it felt like driving a sports car in a rural town.

There was a guy in here a coupe of years ago who was dating a girl with low vision, and she said she could hear when he was aroused.
It was jokingly misinterpreted that she could hear erections and blind girls had a "boner sonar"

she wasn't blind, or even legally blind, just needed glasses or everything more than 3 feet in front of her face got blurry as hell

Does anyone know what the Japanese community thinks of this VN?
Did they receive it well back in the day?
Do they still like it and occasionally discuss it?
Could they believe the story is set in Sendai or are there too many foreignisms for Yamaku High to really feel like Japan?

I've seen small snippets of positive responses here and there, but no aggregate feedback. Maybe in the archives or on the forum there's something broader. But >>569370250 is right, RAITA liked it (not greenposting to spare your eyes):
"First, I would like to thank all the staff that participated in the production of this game. While I did not participate in the production, I was deeply moved at the spirit of dedication and the perseverance of those who were involved in this work. I have to admit that when I first heard of this project I was surprised and somewhat anxious, but my heart was filled with joy every time I could recognize via the nets how members of the team were so highly motivated and pressed on with the production, leading me to closely watch over the progress being made from the very early stages. I know how it is very difficult to maintain motivation in a project where the production timeframe becomes protracted, and thus I get deeply affected when I imagine all the difficulties the members of the team must of have had to overcome. Again, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and profess how I was profoundly touched by your efforts. Thank you very much!"

The Shizunes are aged down, neutral, up, and up-up-up, in that order, marked by arrows. Doggo's signature appears in the middle. The oldest Shizune is saying: [今さら来たの?]

Morning /ksg/
In today's Paturday we're having our first VGL match and its against /akg/ which has a reputation of being a pretty strong team in the PES we're running right now but that wont scare us! As usual i will let you know on time when we start but for reference, here's today's schedule shown right at the top of this page.
https://implyingrigged.info/wiki//vg/_League_26
In case you do make it on stream, here's how to set up your team flair in the chat if you havent already. Every viewer in chat can have a team's flair on their username, it turns the username to the color of the chosen team and also gives the team's logo next to it. All you need to do is either login or input a username as a Guest and then click on the VGL logo on the chat input to bring out the list of teams and select ours. Also make sure to enable any scripts the page asks you to allow if you didnt before so certain features on the cytube can work properly, flairs included.
Really hope to see you there to support our crippled girls and manly picnicers

Is VN writing as a talent going to be killed off for good by LLMs?
I don't mean that LLMs can write just as well as talented humans, but rather that starting from now it may become impossible to prove that you authored a book or a VN purely with your own brain, without resorting to external tools.
If yes, everything written before 2020 could retroactively be seen as inherently more authentic and valuable
>>
>>569622325
It will kill off certain forms of writing but not others.
Ultra-escapist visual novels with not a lot of plot may die off, since really all you need for that is a cute anime girl to fawn over the gigachad self-insert MC, and it doesn't take too much planning to make something like that. Visual novels with an in-depth plot will likely remain mostly human, however, since no matter how good an AI gets at prose and pacing for one specific scene, it will always require a human at the steering wheel to make certain choices. Sure, you can tell an AI to 'make story good :)' but even then, if you're not able to articulate what kind of story you even want, it's likely going to come out as a total mess.
>>
File: 1732791309443963.jpg (43.8 KB)
>>569622325
While current AI tech can do impressive stuff, the majority of AI advocates and heavy duty users are the most creative crippled (heh) people around so even if they decide to "create" something, it will barely be anything of note in itself, let alone however the AI will replicate it.
Inb4 food analogy but AI creations are like store bought frozen pizza or other meals. Sure they hit the spot, save time and maybe even taste better than expected, but usually its nowhere near the quality and care of something one can make themselves in their own kitchen. When it comes to stories, of any kind, whether it be a VN, a book or even a videogame plot, you cant exactly say "AI, make a story thats cool and EVERYONE loves!" its impossible because it lacks the human factor, it lacks bias, it lacks influence from other works, it lacks sincerity, emotion, specific theming and interpretations.
Lastly, for VNs specifically, i think they're pretty safe because AI creations, either the story or the art would be easily distinguishable in them and from the little i know, low quality VNs get pushed aside, never to survive.
