Riftfishing is so much worse than Webfishing so far. I know its a demo, but goddamn does it suck. Its so much slower and clunkier feeling, and it has 0 of webfishing's sauce

It was very cozy but dear God was it mismanaged. The game released with a lot of network issues that made it so you often couldn't see like half the people in the lobby. And even if you could see them, their chat messages would be extremely delayed. Then after that was fixed (mostly) some people found a way to join private lobbies and instantly crash everyone's game so for months we had to deal with bots trying to crash and hijack our lobbies, until the dev finally woke up and added a way for the host to kick people before they could actually join the lobby itself. And then he just disappeared after releasing some merch.
I get that he wasn't expecting the game to be so popular (and getting doxxed by the sharty didn't help) but this had so much potential and it's sad to see it die like this.
Despite all that, I've had a lot of fun playing this game with /v/ and /vg/ so I can't be too bitter about it. I've met a lot of cool people who I'm still in contact with so definitely worth the money.
Also lol I just came to check if the thread was finally dead. I wasn't expecting anyone to bump it.
