are katars just dogshit as a weapon or am I missing something? do they scale better later with dex? the jump attack seems worse than the str-based weapons, and the charge attack leaves you sitting and vulnerable for damage that's roughly equal to just holding down left click so you don't even get the utility of using it as a burst or hit and run option like most other weapon's charge attacks.

the main issue with katars is that every katar is dogshit until you get to sapphite or golemfist then they're great for damage, but they still come with the tradeoff of being a high commitment weapon, when a precise dex deathknight runeblade or fier blade gets the job done just fine while simultaneously letting you take advantage of bandit's mobility giving you the ability to charge while zooming around evading attacks. the weapon is significantly better on both of the other classes instead of the class it's designed for. of course both of these problems will be fixed once the dev gets off his ass and adds more weapons and skills, so really the only thing i think that really needs a change is the mastery jump attack, but that comes at the risk of making it a fucking stupid weapon in pvp so it's fine as it is. a tiny little aoe when you land with it or giving the option for an alternative jump angle for shredding big enemies would be nice i guess.
