Iris Class/Race Poll:
https://strawpoll.com/YVyPv0v4BgN
>>
A few notable tidbits for anyone coming in late:

- Your first 40-slot inventory expansion comes from Shilly Grankine at the Prince's Quarters in Terminus at Level 10, and your second one is delivered to your Gift Box upon reaching Level 11. The third 40-slot expansion can be purchased from Al Rotches, the Gold Vendor at Terminus Center, for 2,000,000 Gold.

- Skill Point resets are earned after finishing both of your Class Advancement quests, the first of which being at Level 30 (must be used within 5 levels of said Advancement quest, so 30-35 for the first one, et cetera). More resets can be purchased from May, the Tear Vendor, at Terminus Center - right next to Al Rotches.

- Two [Scrub's Tears] are added to your wallet every hour you're signed-in, but the vast majority of them come from voting for the server via the NoScrubs website. Can earn 60-100 Tears every 24 hours, which are used for all sorts of highly useful items (and cosmetics/outfits) via the aforementioned Tear Vendor.
(NoScrubs is literally the only surviving Iris Online server left, private or official, so the whole server-voting process is just a vestigial remnant of a bygone era more than anything).

- Equipment which is Uncommon-tier or higher can be Extracted by speaking with Barecalf in Terminus, found between the Meeting Area and Master's Hall. Extracting equipment produces Crystals, used primarily for Alchemy.

- Alchemy makes Potions and regents for Card Masters (and is basically required if you're playing a melee class without a healer with you), Cooking whips-up temporary stat buffs and some materials for Alchemy, Card Mastery makes tradable/untradable Tarot Decks (self-buff suites), and Artificing produces Accessories.

- A single character is normally limited to specializing in just one tradeskill, but that can be increased to two with an Assistant Skill unlock purchased via Gold or Scrub's Tears.

- Remember to regularly check your Gift Box when leveling up!

Sign of a compelling MMO, clearly(?).
May as well take this opportunity to clear-out my own existing screenshot cache so far. Posted a few of 'em in the main MMOD thread during the first day of our stay here, and now here's some more.
There will be some overlap with what's been posted already, as a forewarning. Such is the case when both of the Guild's main photographers find themselves in the same adventuring party together - can't really be helped there...!

They're both tomcats, though, it'll be fine.

A lone airship rests perpetually docked at the harbor in Atlus Gorge, waiting for flight clearance which will likely never come.
What resides within the innards of such a war-machine? Why, only the finest indoor vacation around, of course! Just ignore the rather obvious metal paneling, the designers had to work with what they were given.

The "Laioha" has all the amenities one could ever want in a tropical getaway, complete with a fully-featured beachside retreat with ACTUAL sand. Whoa!
I'm pretty sure all of these mascots walking around are just regular people trying to do their job. Yet as they can be targeted for our attacks, they have thusly forfeited their right to exist in our presence (apparently).

Carving our way to the bridge of this perpetually-stationed ship, we tackled the captain and claimed rightful victory over what we deemed was ours.
Not of the ship itself, of course - nobody wants to handle all of that paperwork. Just bits and pieces of what remained of the mad captain's corpse, as is custom. Someone else more entrepreneuring than ourselves will claim the reins of this cruise-liner at some point, surely.

Day two!
The frozen wastes of Shrouded Valley was our next major stop, the site of many an aspiring adventurer's first Class Advancement quest.
Prior to finishing-up with said quest, however, some of us stumbled across THIS big lug of a bug worming its way from the frozen walls. Didn't appear hostile, thankfully, being content in watching the chaos unfolding around them.
Still not sure if they were comfortable, or just in pain. That thing's expression could've gone either way.
>>
>>2334691
Treacherous caves and monster-filled caverns abound in this part of the realm, and who better to go spelunking through them than a team with enough firepower to bring down the whole damn place with a few well-timed blasts?
Managed to find a particularly fancy Staff amidst all the rubble here. Shame that Shamans aren't properly trained in martial combat, as this beastly piece would've been an ideal match for any burgeoning battle-mage worth their salt.
>>
>>2334697
Suddenly, a castle under siege...!
Our forces found themselves at the site of Decomus Castle's worst of days, barraged by all sides by an unknown assailing force.
Who are the people of Decomus, why are they being attacked, and how the hell did we get here? All questions needing answers, but most importantly, the quests here all give obscene amounts of precious, precious Experience, so get to it!
>>
>>2334700
Monster Transformations are an aspect of this title which goes heavily underlooked, as many of them are little more than mere novelty - often paling in comparison to fighting without being under guise of monstrous masquerade.
There /are/ a few choice exceptions to that rule, however. One of which being these towering tanks scattered throughout the castle grounds; a few of these at your command make short work of whoever is bold and foolish enough to stand in your way.
>>
>>2334702
At the farthest reaches of Decomus rests the manor of the region's prince, still mostly in one piece thanks to your efforts. A little fire damage to contend with, perhaps, but nothing too major overall. Even the lovely topiary survived the assault - that's a win by most metrics.
The dungeons in this title all feel as if they take place in entirely separate little micro-dimensions, away from the realm at-large. Has a very "video game-y" feel to it in that respect, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Certainly keeps variety in the scenery up, if nothing else.
>>
>>2334705
Pets!
Every fresh-faced adventurer is introduced to their starting Mushling pet early on in their travels, but there are scores of other pint-sized powerhouses to bring into your stable, each featuring different attacking styles and benefits to bear (at least if you put in some effort to customize and Evolve them).
Be sure to check-in with the <Pet Supplier> at the northern sector of Terminus, and complete her quests for Summoning Scrolls to get more of these little guys. You never know what sorts of creatures you'll end up conjuring into this world.
>>
>>2334708
One more Dungeon to spare, and this time it's the Wood Garden, nestled deep in the jungles of the savage Ho Tribe.
Shrines to all four major deities worshiped by these primitive peoples can be found across the Garden's many wings, each one coming to life upon defacing its respective stonework, and just as huge in-person as their statues would suggest. Barring this hawk, however - he was a good deal less imposing than advertised. Must've had some nice PR to fluff-up his image alongside the rest of the Divine Beasts, or something.
>>
>>2334710
Another notable Monster Transformation is this utterly massive meanie of a megatoad, with more than enough spite and anger to take on the whole damn jungle at once.
Size-altering spells, abilities, and items also influence the scale of your Transformations and Mounts alike, so partying-up with a Shaman who specializes in shape-shifting magicks can produce some impressive results indeed.
>>
>>2334711
A quick pose on the top of the Garden's central temple, after taking down the dragon perched atop it, naturally.
Been making steady progress thus far, and the Guild is coming along quite nicely within such a short span of time. Keen on seeing what awaits our band in the days to come.

Been a couple of days. Time for another set of photos!
These will have particularly short little flavor-text descriptions added to them (at least by my standards), because it is quite late, and I need to sleep at some point. A few longer ones will likely sneak-in, though - that's just how these batch uploads tend to work.

Love was in the air for these two fresh-faced Guildies, as they somehow managed to scrounge-together four MILLION Gold to spring on a fancy Ceremonial Ring, despite only being in their 20s. Even had it carried out by a relatively cleaned-up little Ring Gremlin (who we then had to slay, as it started to run off with said ring).
That's some real commitment to making things work right there, bravo to the two of 'em.
Still can't believe we've seen more Anon dabbling with this title's relationship systems than we ever did in Lucent Heart, a game entirely centered around that concept.
>>

Frosty Faustings abound on the ice, as two titanic Snow Queens went at it during one of the Guild's Class Advancement quests...!
Got a bit too into the role, and forgot to actually heal my party whilst swinging that gigantic icicle-glaive around. Whoops. We still managed in the end, however.
>>
>>2337034
Quick shot of some size-shifting shenanigans.
More MMOs need to have growth/shrink spells as a core part of the player's arsenal. It's just too amusing to come across a teeny-tiny guildmate out in the wild, when you're still super-sized from Sage's +DEF spells (or using Potions/Cards to perform the same trick).
>>
>>2337036
M E O W
Size-shifting isn't just for two-legged types, you know! Can grow to some truly terrifying sizes, when paired with the right Monster Transformation or mount.
>>
>>2337038
A particularly destruction-laden trip through the Payne Circus, with all manner of recruited monsters along for the ride.
Could see this crew being the cast of a lesser-known, B-rank or C-rank webseries, their four personalities being rather obvious. And naturally the Snow Queen would get the most fan-art, because of course.
>>
>>2337042
One of us nabbed the Transformation for a very high-flying performer. Nearly breached the ceiling with this leap, whew.
>>
>>2337046
Quick 'shot of our monstrous line-up at the end of the circus loop.
Such a novel gimmick, these Transformations. They might not see much practical usage in standard combat (barring a few choice examples), but it's always cool being able to doppelganger around as the foe you were just fighting moments ago, complete with unique buffs and attacks for each.
>>
>>2337048
Alt-take of the above, this time a bit more zoomed-in.
>>
>>2337053
Bit messy, but took this photo of us gathered outside of Payne Circus with all of our mounts at the time.
The cat on the left looks particularly angry when running, for some reason. Definitely don't get in that thing's way, when it comes barreling down the lane.
>>
>>2337055
The Engine Room of the Laioha also doubles as a sweets factory, lined with cakes and confectioneries of all sorts.
Don't start gnawing on the scenery, however, that's still just plastic. Would be more concerned if mountainous heaps of icing and baked goods were just sitting out to rot, frankly.
>>
>>2337060
The canyon mine of Twilight Quarry is seldom ever a safe place to venture, especially not at night-time.
Credit to whoever kept these lanterns lit, at least. A brief patch of humanity amidst swarms of mole-kin and ravenous hyenas.
>>
>>2337064
A brief rest at the bottom of Twilight Quarry, housing a lone spirit-walker and his bundle of pigges.
How anyone can endure living out in these untamed wilds is beyond me, but more power to him if he's willing to put-up with so much hassle just to raise some bacon.
>>
>>2337068
Back at the Laioha again, this time examining the seemingly endless treadmill of sweets being made by an unknown force.
Wouldn't sample the wares if I were you. Gods-know how many hundreds of health code violations this overrun cruise liner has racked-up by this point.

>>2337070
Quick 'snap of an ill-fated foray through Wood Garden, right before the server went lights-out earlier.
Converning indeed, typos or no. Fortunately it came back up super quick, at least - was expecting it to be down for hours. Nice to know the admin of this place is actually present when he needs to be.
(And yes, much as was the case with Lucent Heart, my UI really is that small. That's what playing these ancient games at 4k gets you).
>>
>>2337079
Decomus Castle beckoned once more, this time featuring far more fearsome foes than before.
Took some real gumption to make it through the Hard Mode flavor of this place, but we pulled it off in the end, despite a couple of wipes here-and-there. Well done, lads!
>>
>>2337080
Naturally a Transformation-infused dance party took place thereafter, as is tradition.
It's hard to convey the sheer, overwhelming SCALE some of these monsters can impose, when properly sized-up with a few choice spells and incantations. Makes for one hell of a sight when you're there, seeing these giants stomping around. Thank goodness they're on our side.
Keeping a swift pace through the leveling climb, with many of us residing withing the 50s and 60s by this point. Some particularly committed types are already pushing 80, and it's only the fourth day of our stay here...! Keen on seeing where we end up in the days ahead.

The average class in this game is what's often referred to as a "priority", "plate spinning", or cooldown-based class. You have a lot of skills that do roughly the same thing, but some are more important than others in different situations, some apply a debuff that's important to keep stacked, etc.

What have you noticed that your class does differently? I've noticed a few interesting designs from looking at the skill npcs. Soul Blader is very FFXIV - it spends 10 seconds every 40 seconds doing a "burst rotation" with a different set of skills, with a few 1m/2m cooldown buffs, and one of its biggest damage skills is only available after an 80% proc from a different skill.
>>
>>2338089
Sage has a pretty basic offensive rotation due to being a healer, but there's some interesting interplay between debuff application and follow-up attacks which I've noticed going on throughout Shaman's general kit.
Shaman/Sage is able to apply a -50% Movement Speed penalty on their target while also dealing decent damage, which can then be procced again via another damaging spell that only becomes available against slowed targets. That follow-up attack has a fairly low cooldown, and the -Movespeed% debuff can come from ANY source, so pairing-up with a class that can reliably cripple targets actually leads to some decent single-target damage.
Have heard a similar thing with Mage being able to proc certain spells off targets which have a Burning DoT on them, regardless of source. Makes caster gameplay in parties a bit more dynamic, at least when things align to play off each others' strengths.
>>
>>2338089
i don't know i hate having 20 skills so I just press buttons
>>
Guardian could do with about half as many buttons as it has currently. They all do the same fucking thing, just 'adds a short debuff'. Complete nonsense. Bundle all the debuffs you want the class to do into 2 or 3 buttons and cut down on the bloat.

I mean the games dead for a reason I guess, just annoying as hell. Plus the skills that you can only activate on enemies that HAVE one of those debuffs, but half of them don't TELL you that.
>>
Did you tune out yet?
>>
>>2338642
You need a ton of buttons to press because everything's on a cooldown and animation cancels mean you attack 2x as fast if you chain your skills together compared to if you autoattacked between them, for instance. For some reason autoattacks are really slow and can't be ani-canceled, or at least some of them can't (maybe ranged attacks can?). Skills also seem like they do more damage than auto attacks even if they have no extra base damage or anything. I estimate that an autoattack is like 1/2 even 1/3 the effective dps of even a basic level 1 skill when you account for the lag on AAs and their lower damage. You basically always want to have a skill off cooldown so you can combo it after your previous one.

It depends though, for monster transformations it's the opposite, skills are slow and autoattacks are fast. Boss animations especially have huge long backswing animations on their autoattacks that you can cancel out of by moving, so you can attack like 2x as fast by stutter stepping right after your auto attack makes contact. They're often AoE autoattacks too, it's really powerful.
>>

>>2338823
>[monster transformation] skills are slow
Generally true, but not always the case. Some monster skills (mostly buffs) can be ani-canceled by casting them from a neutral stance while not moving, then immediately tapping [W] after its effect or damage applies.
Shushu Dashing and Nirenia's shield/stun being prominent examples of "flicking" monster skills in this manner, and both are a core part of this game's PvP.
For PvE, it's not a bad idea to have a few dozen Shushu transformations bound to a hotkey to quickly speed yourself across maps or catch up with party members, since their dash buff stacks with mount speed.
>>
>>2338823
How do you animation cancel?
>>
>>2338871
>>2338863 except any movement key can be used, not just W. W is just the easiest to do, and also keeps you facing your target.
>>
>>2338823
NTA, but adding onto this since it's about animation canceling:
This is probably obvious, but if you're playing a ranged class, you can more easily kite monsters by keeping them targeted (not autoattacking just targeted) and either clicking the ground to move/interrupt your skill's end-lag, or pressing a movement key to do the same.
Mainly useful if you're playing a class with a cripple or snare, but can also be good on larger bosses as well to maintain damage uptime while avoiding AoEs, especially once you start cutting your attack speed/cast speed down with lategame gear. Autoattacking too often as a ranged class can occasionally be riskier early on rather than later, since the default AA animations are terribly slow without improved A.SPD.
>>
>>2338871
Move right after the damage numbers for your attack appear. You have to press the movement button after the numbers appear, you can't be holding it. You CAN hold down the button for your next skill and it'll come out as fast as possible.
>>
>>2338145
Knight has one of these and I don't understand why. It's a single skill that doesn't get upgraded when you go up a class. It does like base+170 damage to immobilized enemies, which is one of the rarest statuses I've seen. If it ignored some defense or did % damage I'd understand but it's just a random weak skill.

That's a wrap on the Week One photoshoot...!
Well, truthfully it's been wrapped for a while, but I'm only just now getting around to posting about it.
A rather chaotic time this somewhat short-lived photoshoot ended up being, filled with wild shape-shifting, monstrous transformations (willing or otherwise), and size-alteration of all sorts. A real smorgasbord of several notable subjects you've likely searched for (or perhaps blacklisted) on your image repositories of choice.

As this particular event was a rather short affair compared to the hours-long mega 'shoots we've seen in the past, there's only a handful of variety to be found with this batch. A scant /14/ photos to be found with this one.
Plenty of alt-takes with only subtle differences between each 'snap as well, due to this title's fairly restrictive camera and a lack of first-person view to get clever with multiple clients. (No I will not stop whining about 2000s-era MMO player cameras during my stay here, it's a longstanding tradition).
Rather than taking every image as its own unique entity, feel free to pick-and-mix the photos you like and toss the ones you don't. Also, no flavor text for these photoshoot batch uploads, surely (You) know the drill by now.

With that said, lettuce begin.

Thank you all for attending! Next Saturday's "End of Days" photoshoot prior to our collective departure to parts unknown will be faster on-the-draw between each theme, as we've plenty of locales to visit before our time in this title is up (apologies to those who's patience wore thin before we finished here, even with the reduced runtime). I'd gladly use the [Legendary Elk] more, if it wasn't for >that<. It might be realistic, but this is one instance where going the extra mile on added detail is a major turn-off. I'm sure whoever modeled this specific mount back in 2009 in the depths of EYA SOFT's offices thought it was hilarious.
Fortunately, other mounts using the same model are sensibly-covered, so it's only the cheapest version of the Elk which has this issue.

Alternatively, toss a whisper to Allegreza in-game.
Very cool to see us getting new blood interested in this title, even during the latter-half of our stay here. There's some meat on this title's bones, if you're able to experience it...!

Whew, I've really been slacking on posting screencaps as of late. Time to cut through some of this backlog.
This batch is a bit larger than usual, accounting for the remainder of what I took throughout our first week here (all of which being prior to the Week One Photoshoot seen above). Have more 'shots to follow thereafter, but I'd rather not just dump 30-40+ photos all at once in this thread.
There's quite a decent amount to get through all the same, so let's get to it...!

The rolling dunes of Nightfall Sanctuary can make for quite the tranquil trot.
Or at least it could, so long as you ignore all of the man-sized snakes, scorpions, ghosts, and rabid hyenas roaming around anyway (which is a bit of an ask).
>>
>>2350957
Having your fortune read in Terminus can bestow a variety of fancy effects, some being more high-resolution than others.
>>
>>2350958
Seldom will you find a more storybook-like part of the realm than the Ursadine Highlands, filled with all manner of fantastical fay-folk and adorable animal-kin just going about their day amidst incredible scenery.
None of which were especially fond of anything resembling Humans, Elves, or Hybrids, however, so to take care when dashing through these cobblestone roads.
>>
>>2350963
A quick stop at the windmill district for a nice line-up.
That flying whale in the background wasn't planned, by the way. Utterly gargantuan, that otherworldly beast was. Thankfully it just wanted to say "hi" and carry on, rather than snap us up for a snack.

Came across these fine feathered folk perched-up in a barn loft during our time "ingratiating" ourselves with the local Ursine population.
Not bad seats to watch the chaos unfolding, honestly.
>>
>>2350970
Probably the best photo of the trip. The villages of the 'Highlands really are a treat! Shame about all the mass murder though, can't really be helped there.

===BREAKING NEWS===
--Terminus Under Siege By House Sized Lizard!--
(Was just someone in a kaiju costume, thankfully).
>>

Ascending the Magic Tower is certainly not for the faint of heart, requiring some real firepower (and real healing) to endure the climb.
As a healer, I certainly have plenty of the latter, but barely any of the former, meaning there's next to no hope of me tackling the higher tiers of this place. Hate to leave EXP on the table every day, but that's just the way of it.
>>
>>2350981
Managed to make it to the top of the Level 55-69 Tower all the same.
Feasible enough with your freebie Level 60 gear. Just remember to bring a good ranged-damage Pet (and pick Poison Immunity as your reward when it comes up)!

(Seems CAPTCHA went down right in the middle of my uploading spree. Rude. Continuing from earlier...)

The Garden of Baphomet is easily one of the most atmospheric of forests found in any corner of the realm.
Even if you aren't there on official Adventurer business with a proper expeditionary party, it's still worth it to visit for yourself and soak-in that deep forest ambiance.
>>
>>2350997
Of course, we WERE here in this beautiful forest glade on official Adventurer business, and directly confronted the titular Baphomet himself.
You probably can't see him amidst all of these spell effects, but he's in there, honest...!
>>
>>2351000
A cheeky victory line-up after the Demon of the Wood was thoroughly dealt with, light's radiance piercing through the canopy.
>>
>>2351002
The winding hedge-maze found in Wonderland is host to all manner of strange magicks, most notable of which being one which turns any passersby into the one-and-only Alice of legend.
In fact, such magick turns /everyone/ caught in its blast radius into the "one"-of-a-kind heroine, complete with an arsenal of weaponry which would make any nation's military blush. Don't remember that part of the novels...
Also her face is fully modeled and actually animates, unlike the standard player-character, adding to the purposefully-uncanny feel.
>>
>>2351004
At the heart of Wonderland's maze resides the feared and revered Queen of Hearts, skilled practitioner of fire magic (of all things).
She's no slouch at it either, leading to some hectic moments of your feet regularly being on-fire if you don't keep moving.
>>
>>2351005
The Colossus Shadowfields might seem like a remix of the Ursadine Highlands (and to be fair it sort-of is), but it still holds a beauty all its own.
>>
>>2351007
During our time there, we swung by the local bakery for a quick recharge.
The raccoon proprietor clearly wasn't expecting to have to serve all of us at once, but his status as a local shopkeeper prevented him from suffering the same fate as several dozen of his kin prior to our arrival.
>>
>>2351010
A quick 'take at the bakery's steps.
It's a lovely place, really, when you have a moment to stop and take a breather.
>>
>>2351012
The wastelands of Sandfall Desert eventually give way to a rustic village of stone and sand, providing ample shelter for the natives well-adapted for this harsh way of life.
Except for this pinheaded fellow - I suspect he's just here on vacation and taking-up the local watering hole.
>>
>CAPTCHA dying
>Site being slow as hell
>Suddenly can't upload any images at all
Ugh. Alright, I'll finish this batch later. Was just a few photos short of the finish line, but I'll be here all night waiting for things to clear-up at this rate.
Hiro please.
>>
>>2351014
(Bloody hell, it's like pulling teeth trying to get a post to go through at the moment. Forgive the delayed images here).

You might think I'm reaching in regards to the title of this photo, but we DID have to fight through several, clearly-labeled [Armored Armadillo]'s to make it up here.
>>
>>2351060
At the lair's entrance resides an unusual sight indeed: First person mode!
More specifically, there appears to be a large, invisible piece of object collision leading up to the secret laboratory, allowing for full movement yet completely screwing up the camera's normal positioning, shoving it straight into your head for lack of any other place to put it.
Makes for some silly close-up shots, at least.
>>
>>2351062
Our party's oh-so-ferocious Twin Blade wielder, rocking her signature savage garb. How intimidating...!
>>
>>2351063
I swear to (You), my camera just happened to be placed squarely here upon canceling my +Size% buff to get a more-flattering angle.
(The filename is "Wildly Inappropriate", for anyone not using 4chanX for some reason).
>>
>>2351066
Finally, we met up with a much-beloved latecomer to this Guild out in the Logging Zone, and of course dazzling them with Monster Transformations and size-shifting shenanigans was on the table.
Would've been quite concerned if this was an /actual/ mega-wolf about to swallow me in one bite, granted.

That does it for the pre-photoshoot batch. Haven't taken quite as much throughout the second week thus far compared to the first, but there's still more 'snaps from me to come...!
