I'm at level 62. If possible, get to level 100 by the end of the year as well as getting the 500 decor pikmin badge.
The new event has been a total pain in the ass. I keep doing mushrooms, but when i complete them i only get like 20 or 40 music notes. I haven't gotten any golden seedlings from the event. (previous events would give you like 200 to 100 event currency, or give out seedlings). It also sucks that event currency missions only award you with clothing instead of golden seedlings, which will make it harder to collect this months event pikmin.
I dunno if this is a coincidence, but the scopely acquisition was finalized on May 29th, and the event that is immediately after starts making it much harder to get pikmin.
regardless, here's to another 3.5 years, if the game lasts that long.

Haven't had that experience, my mushroom challenges have been giving me 80 or more music sheets since day 1. Hope they didn't change it to favor higher-leveled players, that would suck. Seedling from item-collecting and mushrooms didn't start until June 6th, and it's just for the puzzles.

Idk, I think my drops were already starting to suck around mid-May. Either way, I'm probably gonna drop monthly tasks starting in July (I'm only doing June because I like music and I was in a marching band in high school). Optimizing mushroom challenges for tasks or just power breakpoints is giving me mad, and it's also a headache trying to plant a specific kind of plant every day. I miss being able to just plant what I want, when I want to, without having to optimize everything that I do.

They added some assets for Ice Pikmin around a year ago, but they deleted them one update later.

Only got 8k steps on Saturday, so I had to walk another 10k on Sunday.

I was so sad that i basically only was able to get one of the Nintendo console seedlings and that was it.
A lot of my friends stopped playing so its hard to coordinate large mushrooms on the weekends too for maximum output. I really feel like it went hard pay2win especially with tickets and racking up enough of whatever the month's material is to try to hit the level thresholds. There's not even a point to doing regular, non event mushroom anymore because there's no downtime between events.
I still enjoy what i've done with the game so i can't be too mad. Just a shame that I don't think its for me any more.

Right now, they really need to focus on tweaking stuff VS entirely new mechanics.
Events every month either need to be dialed back to every few months or just one a "season" (so 4 total for the year). You should be able to get the event materials from all mushrooms, to continue to encourage players to do them and just scale with difficulty (ie, you get less from small mushrooms, and more from large mushrooms but you still get some either way).
Get rid of the spin the wheel thing and replace it with something else. Using the materials you obtain you should be able to "buy" event seeds (both for the current event and seasonal relevant previous events). 100 step ones are still entirely random, but the 10,000 step large seeds should be more in favor of what you're missing. You're still "gambling" and will still need to play the game, but its a little fairer for the player.
Most everything else I think can stay the same. You can still moneyhat tickets to do more in a day, still pay to get flowers and maybe even sell bundles of materials too.
I think the costume stuff should all entirely be microtransaction cosmetics - there's never been one during event that I said "oh gee, I'm glad i got this instead of a seedling from the event".
After they fix existing bullshit, then they can focus on new stuff. I think there should be "combat" in the game in the form of like Bulborb or other enemy raids you can do with others. Basically same mechanics of the mushroom except you can "lose" (I would say the "fair" way to do that is to just have the pikmin return to you and you have to walk to repluck them. Maybe even a ding to friendship?) and at night they could add the Glow Pikmin and Lumiknolls you can send Glowies to.
I'd like to see other items to pick up instead of just fruit - fruit can stay to get nectar but it'd be cool to see like a battery you can bring back and it'd convert into event currency.

They really need some other game mode or something. The only things you can do in this game are walk, plant flowers (i.e., walk) or micromanage tasks. There's no combat (mushrooms don't count) or anything else to do besides collecting novel decor Pikmin. One of the most appealing aspects of Pikmin to me was all the various creatures you'd find in the Pikmin world. We still don't have any bulborbs in this game, let alone anything besides Pikmin, mushrooms and Mii characters. They should at least add a pet system or some other way to bring them into the game, even if they don't want the Niantic game that's clearly more targeted to women over Pokémon GO to have fighting.

>Events every month either need to be dialed back to every few months or just one a "season" (so 4 total for the year).
Monthly events in general are just way too intrusive. Even if you're fine with spending the money to keep up with the monthly flowers, you still have to plant them, which can be pretty tedious if your main walking area isn't a long path with giant sprouts to benefit from. If you want to get all the free cosmetics, you also have to devote yourself to almost always doing event mushrooms, even if you'd rather do some large mushrooms to build up your rare flower nectar.

The new update introduces something called bird's eye view, it's extremely useful because now I can see what type of mushrooms and plants I can expect if I plan on going somewhere, not sure if it shows if a mushroom is currently being fought though. Great update!

Pikmin are genderless little alien plant creatures. They have no want or need besides beating the ever loving fuck out of larger creatures when they're forced to and eating nectar

I actually never tried out smaller-scale Party Walks, but ever since the most recent update I've been getting invites from people on my friend list to do them. Joining this one too.
The Party Walks seem like a good motivator for getting steps in, since the weekly challenges become get finished way too soon even if teammates lag behind. It always sucked when Thursday-Sunday end up having no motivator since you breeze through it in the first half of the week. Sure, walking for the sake of is nice, but seeing number go up as you do it is even nicer.

Is there any kind of tool out there that allows you to search a world map for all available mushrooms? Especially since the bird's-eye view feature came out. I don't know how APIs or whatever work.

You are able to set a part of the map (up to a radius of 300m) where the flowers you plant are hidden to everyone else. You can creat up to 5 of these. Apart from that the flowers you plant are visible to everyone, and if you partake in a mushroom battle everyone within range to partake can see you fighting it (otherwise it doesn't show you).
If you're talking about playing the game without sharing location data with Nintendo/Gpogle you're SoL.
As for Nintendo pulling the plug, there's still updates adding new features and new events every month so it's probably a case of the game being piss cheap to upkeep. I'd say at least 1 more year of new content, maybe more, then after that I can see it lasting a while before EoS.
>>
>>1883169
Yes. You can both set up privacy zones or just completely turn off the flower planting option. It's in it's 4th year and still seems pretty popular so it seems like it will be around for a while just like with PoGo.

>Starting December 12, we'll be running tests in the United States, Germany, and Hong Kong.
>In these areas, Mushrooms may take longer to reappear after being destroyed, and you may also see more Mushrooms than usual.
>Only thing I've noticed is that 3 mushrooms within a 10-mile radius of me have disappeared, no new mushrooms or sprouts
This is somehow worse than the POI reshuffle during September 2024 that cut my local sprouts by 25%.

I'm from the Midwest so I walk through rain, snow or sun. Game hasn't been particularly fun lately, the silver seedlings for the 4th anniversary snack Pikmin have been a bit obnoxious.

I have almost 1600.
Reason for this is that you can send 40 pikmin on a mushroom raid, but elemental mushrooms can only be one color, so 1600 is more than enough to send over 3 squads of 40 pikmin of the same color.

I wish there were more reasons to play this game, but nope, all we're gonna get for the next next few years is a slow drip feed of decor Ice Pikmin in addition to monthly decor.

The challenges are designed to punish those that don't keep up with every single monthly flower. Best recommendation I have for you is to either hunt down large/giant mushrooms, plant as many base white flowers as you can around sprouts in hopes you'll luck out in growing the white flower you're looking for, or hunt down people that will invite you to large/giant mushrooms. I'm usually more than willing to hunt one down if it's within reasonable driving distance. Even then, that doesn't mean I'm able to get all the decor Pikmin each month. I got 35 Game Pak Pikmin and made it to 11-3, but not a single one was blue.
