>it has an even lower user score than battle revolution
Grim
>>
Why are the scores so low? Is it because the game has an optional "push this button if you are a retard who doesn't value your money" button? Because that never stopped people from sucking off the shitty mainline games for the last few years.
>>
>>59158248
yes that's why Pokopia is best it has Flygon
>>
>>59158241
Smogon killer they said
>>
>>59158448
the victory is Pokopia's for having the highest score and praise
>>
>>59158241
So in other words, once you remove the Nintendo bonus, the score is a -3000 and it's the worst game of all time.
>>
>>59158241
It's ok
the mobile version will fix all the problems!
>>
>>59158406
>Why are the scores so low?
It's completely unplayable.
I don't mean that in the sense of "oh it's really bad." I mean I had to restart and delete my save data 5 times before I could get to actual ranked battles because the game kept getting stuck in crash loops.

ILCA does it again

Deserved. This was the perfect time to drop a modern Stadium game, and they dropped a live service platform for competitive play instead. All I want is a place to use my shitmon in gimmick battles and minigames. Even better if it earns them a few ribbons. And outside of fucking BDSP, there's not a lot of that to be found on Switch.
>>
>>59159655
they might add those as well, but you already have mainline for that
>>
>>59159655
>the game is bad because I’m a campaignshitter who’s too afraid of playing against other people!!
every time
>>
>>59158265
I wish I could go back with a timemachine and take the people who back then trashed said that BR for lacking content back to today and show them everything past Gen 8
pretty sure they'd all drop anything related to Nintendo and do something else with their time, I know I would've
>>
>>59159655
Live service makes more sense of course, but I wonder how well a Stadium/Battle Revolution style game would do these days. Like with all Pokémon and items included, single and multiplayer player content like Stadium. Probably wouldn't sell too much or have as many players as Champions but I also feel like most casuals are going to drop Champions anyway.
>>

>Probably wouldn't sell too much or have as many players as Champions but I also feel like most casuals are going to drop Champions anyway.
It really depends on the amount and quality of content, but I don't think casuals would stick to Stadium or PvP for long. My gripe is that PvP is already catered to, by default, in every game. Meanwhile, ribbons and battle facilities have gotten the short end of the stick for over a decade. The ribbon part is weird, considering the addition of titles. And the facility part seems like a massive oversight with how trivial it has become to train strong mon. In theory, the barrier to entry is the lowest it has ever been, and there's at least some semblance of flavor text / bragging rights you can earn with titles.

hi kojo
>>
>>59160912
tbdesu I wish I could do something similar but with my child self instead. I loved PBR (due to me not having a frame of reference in the Stadium games) and hoped that a mainline Pokemon game on consoles would look like this.
After the Switch era, I just want to let myself down gently. And maybe give myself a headstart on learning Japanese in the process

I can't believe what Pokemon Showdown did here
can you BELIEVE what showdown did
do you KNOW what showdown did
that's right
NOTHING!
showdown did NOTHING
>>
>>59158406
Runs like shit on Switch 2 which is impressive.

Requires a HOME subscription to play with your own fucking Pokemon.

Literally not a game.
>>
>>59158241
Oh no no no no no no no.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>
Casuals can't into competitive battling, which is all this game is.
>>
>>59158241
Hope it crashes and burns like Pokemon Unite
>>
>>59158241
Now remove the Nintendo bonus
>>
>>59158265
what exactly was wrong with Battle Revolution? It had no campaign or mini-games? What about battling itself? You had to transfer pokemon from the handheld games in all the previous coloessum/stadium games right?
>>
>>59170067
We went from Colosseum and GX to this pack of shit. It was a huge downplay and the available facilities in Revolution was just a glorified Battle Frontier.
>>
>>59170067
>It had no campaign or mini-games?
This.
>What about battling itself?
As someone who did a lot of wifi random doubles as a kid, iirc there was zero moderation so you'd be against a ton of kids with full legends teams. There was no like, format or anything (I think).
>You had to transfer pokemon from the handheld games in all the previous coloessum/stadium games right
It was basically required yeah.

PBR was a step down from the previous entries but it was still miles ahead of the absolute nothing that is Champions.
>>
>>59171083
>>59171107
I forgot to mention, while I played Stadium and Colosseum and XD Gale, I never owned them and only played by renting them so I never got to experience transferring your pokemon into them. How was transferring into PBR compared to them? Was it more or less the same? Worse? Again I never played PBR and no nothing about it other than it had no campaign or mini games
>>
>>59170067
The main issue is there was basically nothing to do if you didn't own a DS game because the default teams were so dogshit and you had no ability to change them. I love battle revolution but I gotta admit it was effectively a $50 add-on to the gen IV games.
>>
to be fair, yes i know this is modern pokemon we're talking about but this seems to me like a clear cut case of just a really shitty launch that will be improved with later updates
most of the problems with the game right now are just missing content and a few glitches here and there, nothing core to the game itself
my expectations are low but this is something they literally cant fuck up in the long run unless they stray from the concept of "yeah this is where you bring ALL your pokemon to battle"
>>
>>59172347
For such an easy concept of a "Battle Simulator" fucking up a launch like this doesn't fill me with much confidence for the future updates (also being made by ILCA doesn't help)
>>
>>59171107
>there was zero moderation so you'd be against a ton of kids with full legends teams.
Not me but I did use my ingame team with palkia. He felt strong as fuck. Many other kids torn apart by spacial rend.
I don't remember there being any formats either. Just throws you on in with anything. At least I don't think you could get away with obviously illegal mons like wonder guard spiritomb.
>>
>>59173280
Its OK when Pokemon does it, apparently
>>
>>59173292
hey I never said that. i am in fact sick of it
but for modern pokemon this is unfortunately the best case scenario realistically
>>
>>59172406
>>59173280
You people haven't seen what a real disaster of a launch is. Whine all you want, but the Champions wasn't ridden with server issues on launch day for example. The meta also keeps changing as day progresses
>>
>>59173810
Champions Meta sucks dick
>>
>>59170067
Fewer features than what came before, and essentially requires a DS to have fun at all.
Stadium & 2 had full stables of rentals you could use. Most of them weren't great, but the game is PLAYABLE with rentals, and you and a friend playing rental battles is a good time.
Colosseum & XD didn't have rentals, but were fully functional pokemon games underneath.

Battle Revolution is a simulator and nothing more. There's no single player game like the gamecube games, and while rentals technically exist, they are a small pool of utter dogshit pokemon that will struggle to clear anything past maybe the first cup (and the cup designed around them). The game is unplayable as a standalone, and is JUST a sim for your DS games. However, it had good animations, and the cup selection was decent. It at least succeeded at being a battle sim.
Champions is unironically worse than playing on original hard and software. There is no reason to transfer anything to Champions because it is worse

Champions is quicker and better to play PvP than every single mainline game to date.

Opening Champions and hopping into a match is so much better than opening Sword or Violet to use their dogshit connectivity.
>>
>>59178150
so its going to get even worse
>>
>>59178159
No its not, Champions cant even run a stable framerate or boot any faster
>>
>>59178165
Scarlet and Violet struggle to even exist, nothing gets worse than that performance
>>
>>59178137
Things definitely seem to have improved. Last weekend it was crash galore.

pokemon pvp was never good it's time for people to realize this. it's swamped in horrendous meta of the meta and illusion of choice. It takes way too much mental efforts to become even mid because you fight turbo autists that could probably become chess top100 if the queen piece looked like gardevoir

Funny thing is that pokemon was never supposed to have a pvp, it was added in last minute because the higher ups want as a way to prop up the shillmons
>>
>>59180773
Pokemon without PvP would be so ass though. There is no point in collecting or training pokemon if all you do is just PvE content

Za felt butter smooth compared to champions. And i dont know how they managed to fuck that up since champions is all menus like what the fuck?

>>
I played it for a bit and I didn't have any issue on my launch switch. why do people say it runs like shit on the switch 2?
it's on par with other pokemon games which received much higher ratings, is it because it does not have a single player campaign or 6v6?
>>
>>59180838
The Switch 2 version is bugged and puts it in the wrong graphics setting unless you undock and redock it.
