The lighting is a bit weird in some areas, but you get used to it. This is imo, the most significant psx port since ReDriver 2 was released, and while I wish we got a complete decomp like that was, this is the next best thing. I've already completed over half the game this morning, it's great, what a treat out of nowhere.

I don't like the ironsights replacing zoom in the remaster, since they're the exact same models as original, so Garand is missing the actual sights.
Apparently they made it so the enemies don't become bullet sponges the further you progressed in the game.
While we're at that, OpenMOHAA is actually great for multiplayer now.

It maintains the same textures, audio, and low level fog table, the graphics aside from dynamic lighting are hardly changed, and because the draw distance is the same, the gameplay remains in tact as welll. This is as close to a 1:1 port as possible without a complete decomp.
But you've already outted yourself as a zoomer whose never played the original several times now.

The download is about 1gb so you would think it can't contain shit ton of bloat. I got that the guy coded stuff mostly himself even if he used assets so it shouldn't be insanely bloaty slop. Otherwise it would be at least 10-20gb download looking at todays standards but I mean I haven't played it yet so it could take 16gb RAM to run etc

I guess it would make sense to make this kind of a game but change enough stuff so it becomes it's own thing, not just to avoid C&D letter but otherwise too. It's just that no one would have intially looked at this ever if it didn't say "medal of honor".

Because one is a console only game and the other is a PC only game, both made for (at the time) different audiences. Or at least that's what that one hack Vince Zampella was claiming when he refused to just make a straight port of MoH: Frontline (a better game than AA)

They were greenlit around the same time, 2015 hacks were just faster in making the game.
It's sad too, since Frontline mogged AA in pretty much every way. The only good thing about AA is that it was made for and could be played with mouse and keyboard.

And i Own all WW2 MoH games on PC, even the free Airborne+DLC release EA Origin did almost 15 years ago by now to promote the damn thing.
It sucks that no one will ever do a proper HD pack for MoH that isn't a terrible outdated model of a upscale slop for said games because everyone sucks at modeling for idtech3 unless it is the Wolfenstein dudes, even the games are in need of a good new executable with proper UI scaling since the damn thing is stuck on the most archaic versions of openGL.

It's just an initial release. They're going to keep working on it and adjust the look.
Again, this is the best we're going to get to a PC conversion until someone does a full decomp of the psx version, which probably won't ever happen, unless someone pays the ReDriver guy to do it.
