>Sonic had a rough transition to 3D
>Yet this is Sonic's first 3D debut
Does anybody really believe this retarded meme? And no, 3D blast is 2.5D isometric and Sonic R isn't mainline so Sonic Adventure IS the first mainline 3D entry and it was extremely well received.

It’s janky as fuck, let’s not lie to ourselves about Adventure

Tendies are mentally ill

It's soulful jank.

SM64’s controls are easy to learn, hard to master. The tutorial levels are just too hard from the get-go. If they’d started with the secret Princess slide, JRB, or even SSL, I think the difficulty curve would have smoothed tremendously.

Contrast with Sonic which has frustratingly easy controls that make you wish you had more fine-grained control than “vector off in that direction at infinite speed”.

>SM64’s controls are easy to learn
no
there's a billion of them
how r u supposed to memorize all the moves

>the game with 3D in the title isn't actually 3D
>full 3D game doesn't count for arbitrary reasons
there was also the half-pipe in sonic 2 and sonic x-treme
it was a rough transition but he got through alright
>>
>>12510967
It's rather intuitive, you press buttons and things happen
>>
>>12510976
Half pipes were the illusion of 3D and sonic x-treme was canceled.

>>12510943
SA is why I stopped being a Sonic fan.

>>
>>12511019
the point is, my retarded little sonicfag, all that shit was the transition and sonic adventure is the result
people on this site get dumber each year, I swear
>>
>>12511037
>all of this non-3D shit is actually the transition to 3D
whatever mental gymnastics works for you, reality says otherwise though.
>>
Like, there's a good chance you'll just straight up no clip through the stage at any time in either SA game. I remember doing so the very first time I played through the killer whale sequence. Immediately, this was playing them on Gamecube, not Dreamcast, so maybe the ports were extra jank.
>>
>>12511075
>playing them on Gamecube
yeah that's your answer, the GC and every subsequent port after is complete shit and created more issues that weren't present in the Dreamcast version.
>>
>>12510951
You're right but jank doesn't become soulful until you're looking back in hindsight, especially for what's essentially a AAA game. At the time it was just jank.
>>
>>12511025
you got raped by a sonic fan?
>>
>>12511075
i genuinely saw more glitches while playing sunshine than adventure, and yet nobody ever talks about how broken the first one is
>>
Is this the thread where we make fun of people who don't understand the difference between 2d/3d graphics and 2d/3d gameplay? The last one was tons of fun.

A button always does some type of jump, b button always does some type of attack if one is available, just like mario on the nes.

>controls are clunky
name one 3d platforming character that moves as well as Mario can

good

It works perfectly fine on the Dreamcast.

>>12511414
The collision detection, physics and animations are still janky there, just not as much so as DX
>>
Nobody but Sonic fans like Sonic Adventure.

Even retards who don’t play video games like Mario 64.
>>
>>12511419
Literally every game ever has imperfections. DX puts those imperfections across the threshold into disruptive.
>>
SONIC, had a rough transition to 3D, but Knuckles and Gamma are Kino. We need a 3D Knuckles game, maybe a Tooievania, or a 2D Shadow game that could be like Mega Man X meets Sonic Advance, or Shadow mixed with JSRF
>>
>>12510950
Mario 64 controls so well people are still playing ROM hacks
Sonic is a slippery autism jankfest

Yes, that's the game everyone is talking about when they say Sonic had a rough transition because it fucking sucks.

Any
Mario is slow as shit and his moveset is completely bloated with shit that no player ever had any use for, ever

I'm not tendie, nor a segatard, but Segatard's arguments are valid.
Sonic Adventure has organic levels and design, while Mario 64 feels like an unfinished product with random assets generated at a hurry and put together to create the "Platformer" design.

SM64 would of been so much better if Mario had aspects of his moveset be inspired by the original games, like imagine if he could whip out his cape like he does in the smash games.

Is your Tails buttplug in while you’re tapping the sign?
