desu this is a poorly designed fight and one of the few blemishes on the game. It's just a braindead slugfest where every other boss fight except the Tyrant and Plant 42 can be skipped. And the plant has ways to skip one of the phases of the fight and is also extremely weak to the knife.

But there's a way to fight it isn't there? Like, you move in a figure 8 and shoot it when it pauses to get ready to attack. Then you move forward past its head as it strikes so that it misses and has to chase you again. I think that's how it went? I'm sure the answer isn't just to stand there and shoot it while healing repeatedly.
